Prologue - The request

It was another bright day in Beigoma. Shu slowly opened his eyes as the morning light filtered through his closed curtains. The albino male sat upon his bed, stretching his arms and looked up at the light pink clock on his wall ticking with the same boring rhythm. There's still time to get ready for school, he thought, getting dressed to go to his usual morning warm-up.

Soon, the albino male was outside jogging along the isolated roads in Beigoma. Every day when he comes to warm up, he only meets one or two people. Because at this time of the day most of the people in Beigoma are getting ready to start their days from their houses while few people like Shu came outside for a morning warm-up, and of course every day, he meets one certain person, maybe a little bit annoying one.

"Oh, isn't it for the famous Kurenai" someone huffed behind him.

Shu looked back. "Yeah." he simply replied, walking away.

"Wait up, you idiot!" Wakiya yelled as he ran forward to catch up with Shu.

"What is it, Wakiya?" Shu stopped and looked at the blonde male standing behind him.

"Are you participating in the Team Tournament this year?"

Shu looked at him. "Yeah, that's why I became a member of the Beyclub."

Wakiya smirked. "That's good. I've always wanted to defeat you. And now I'll get a chance."

Shu turned away and headed to his apartment. Wakiya always complained almost about everything. At the last Team battles, they lost to Rideout. This year they wanted to win.

Shu sighed as he opened the door of the apartment. 'Lui can defeat our Team.' That thought haunted him for this several days and he seemed to have gotten addicted to that idea. He shook his head trying to dismiss the thought. "We have to win and we will!" he thought, reassuring himself.

When Shu got out of his house for the second time of the day, the roads were filled with people. Some people were heading to work and children to school. A certain brunette came running down like he was in a hurry. He almost knocked out some of the people on his way but every time he was able to make a sharp turn to avoid hitting the person. Everyone stopped for a while to look at him. Many for knowing expressions indicating that this was just another normal morning for Beigoma.

"I'm late!!" he yelled while running. And finally, after all the running he arrived at the school just when the bell went off signing the school is going to start. Beigoma academy, not a school with many facilities like many other ones around the area. But the students worked hard and it was a place where every kid liked to go because the teachers were kind and they were ready to help anyone who needed help and the students were friendly with each other. It was the ideal school in every student's mind.

He panted. "That's close." He muttered wiping the sweat from his forehead. This boy, known as Valt Aoi, the hyper captain of the Beigoma Academy Bey club, reached his first class which was Math and also something he and probably half of the students all around the globe hated.

"I hate math," he muttered as he sat beside his best friend Shu, who looked rather calm and as always, prepared for the lesson.

The albino looked at Valt. "Slept over your alarm again?" he asked, giving him a small smile.

"Seriously Shu, how the hell you come to school early? I am always late." Valt groaned, taking out his math books and dropping them to the table with a loud thud.

Shu chuckled. "Just get up early, then you'll be able to come on time."

Valt huffed. "Impossible"

The day went normal as any other day, learning and discussing the school projects. During the lunch break, the whole bey club was on the rooftop. When Shu reached there as normal, Wakiya and Honcho were arguing over something. And Valt was practically

trying to drag Daigo to the bey disk to fulfil his desire to battle before the bell rings.

"Hi," Shu said looking through the commotion taking place on the rooftop. He smiled inwardly, his friends can be a mess sometimes but at least he finally found some good friends where he felt belonged. After his simple greeting everyone looked at him and then again Wakiya and Honcho started arguing.

"Hey" Daigo was the only one who greeted him back. Valt gave up on Daigo and walked to Shu. "Shu! I wanna battle! please, please, please!"

Shu nodded. "Sure" They both walked to the stadium and got into their positions.

Spryzen and Valtryek flew into the stadium. Soon, everyone's eyes were on the stadium. The arguing and the fights were all long forgotten as they watched the battle intently. Something they all shared interest in, Beyblade is the game that brought them together and made them such good friends. The two beys fought each other with a burning passion clashing on and on with the single desire for the win.

"Now, Valtryek! Rush launch" Valt said looking at his partner Valtryek.

"Let's win this partner" he exclaimed excitedly punching the air.

"Not that easily," the albino male said in his monotone voice as he yelled "Spryzen now, Counter Break! finish it"

The two beys hit each other. Red and Blue clashed with passion and determination and

Valtryek burst into three pieces indicating the win of Shu Kurenai.

"That's it, Shu Kurenai wins the battle with two to zero," Daigo said.

"Aww man," Valt complained slightly pouting as he picked up his bey pieces.

Shu smiled. "I have to admit Valt. You've gotten better and soon you'll be able to defeat me, keep trying"

Valt smiled back and placed his hands on his hips. "Yep, gotta remember the fundamentals"

"Here he goes again" Wakiya snarled looking at the shorter male.

Shu smiled. His friends always made him smile. He loved his life here. He never felt alone. The truth was his parents were never home. But unlike in the past now he was happy because he had a bunch of caring friends by his side.

"Earth to Shu Kurenai " Honcho yelled on the top of his lungs just near his ear.

"What?" Shu asked wincing because of the too-loud sound.

"Man, you are spacing out a lot lately " he complained.

Wakiya narrowed his eyes. "What are you thinking about? Did you finally get a girlfriend?"

Shu blinked. "No," He said, shaking his head. "Wakiya, you know I'm not in a relationship"

Wakiya just clicked his tongue. The day ended and as he always did, Shu packed his things and started walking to his home with Valt. "Shu, this time our team is gonna win, right?" Valt asked, a glint of hope lighting in his hazel eyes. Shu realized what he wanted. A simple reassurance from his best friend whom he looked up to.

Shu thought before answering.

"Yeah," he said finally. Valt beamed nodding along and started to blabber about some secret plan to win.

"Well, this is my stop. See you tomorrow! " Valt said running into his house yelling " Mom, I'm hungry".

Shu smiled as he walks along. "Typical Valt," he thought. He reached his apartment and opened the door. He collapsed onto the sofa thinking about his day, every day is just the same. He looked around the empty living room. "I miss mom and dad"

"Now I'm alone again," he thought getting up and taking a shower. He went to the kitchen to make something for dinner and that's when he heard his phone's ringing. He took it and saw the callers ID. It was his mom. A smile graced his lips. "Hey mom," Shu said answering the call.

"Hi Shu, are you doing fine?"

The conversation went longer till his mother told him to check his mail saying there would be something surprising. He hung up the call and finished cooking. After taking his dinner and cleaning the dishes, he went to look through his emails. There was the mail his mother asked him to read. Shu started to read it. Instantly his eyes widen with shock.

"This can't be," he told to himself. "My life is going to be a nightmare"

It was about transferring to another school. He liked his days in the Beigoma academy and he felt at home with his friends. But his parents wanted to put him into a better school with better facilities. They nagged every day till he agrees to their condition. At last, he agreed because he had nothing else to do. They said to him that they'll find a good school and at last, they had found one. And that school is what made Shu shocked and made him feel like the life left inside his body was draining away. Out of all the schools, he had to attend the Rideout Academy.
