Chapter 4 : A Brewing Storm

Given that their mid-term exams were over, the start of the summer vacation was only several days away. At the start, after getting together with JingYu, Weizhou continued having lunch with Wang so as to not rub in their relationship in Liang's face and Liang had lunch with some other friends. However after several days, Wang invited Liang and Kim to join them just as they used to in the past. Both Wang and Kim did their best to lessen the awkward tension in the atmosphere. At first when JingYu noticed this, he did not make a big deal of it as he knew that was Weizhou's circle of friends.

On the third day, Liang actually exchanged a few words with Weizhou, joining in a conversation between Weizhou and Kim. They were discussing about a leadership camp they had signed up for. It was supposed to take place for a week during their summer vacation.

"So you're still going too?" Liang asked.

"Yeah." Weizhou answered. "You too?"

"Yep." Liang smiled.

Weizhou remembered how the two of them eagerly rushed to sign up for it couple of months back. They were excited for it cause they knew it would look good on their college applications.

"Damn I should have signed up too." Wang sighed.

"See?! You should have listened to me you lazy brat!" Kim responded.

Meanwhile, Weizhou's eyes searched throughout the canteen for a trace of his boyfriend. JingYu usually sat at a table not too far away from his with a couple of friends for lunch. They had a habit of exchanging a few texts during lunch.

'Where are you?' Weizhou sent a text.

He impatiently waited. JingYu's reply came like 5 minutes later.

'Hey something came up. I'll pick you up at 6.'

Weizhou did not like the vagueness of the reply. 'You went home?'

Several more minutes went by.

'No babe. Just work.'

Weizhou's face changed.

"You okay?" Said Wang's voice, making Weizhou look up.

"Yeah." Weizhou gave a forced smile and unintentionally glanced at Liang to see that he was carefully studying his face.

Weizhou immediately shifted his gaze to his barely touched tray of food.

*******

That evening Weizhou found himself waiting and waiting until it was past 7.30PM. Although he was at home, his mind had been a mess since lunch time at school. He had not attempted to call JingYu until it was 6.30PM. But when he did so, his phone was off. He didn't jump to any conclusion but could not help feeling uneasy and was unable to concentrate on anything.

Upon finally hearing the bell of the front door, he rushed to open it. Mrs.Xu was close behind him.

As expected, there stood JingYu. His face gave away his mood.

Weizhou turned to Mrs.Xu. "Mom, I'll be back in a few."

"Isn't it quite late to go out now?." She responded. "You guys will anyway meet at school tomorrow."

Weizhou's heart sank. He desperately wanted to talk to JingYu at this moment, not through the phone. He yearned to do so in person. "It'll only take a few minutes mom."

"No Zhouzhou. She's right. I'll call you." JingYu prepared to leave.

"No I'm coming with you." Weizhou walked out, ignoring his mother.

"Zhouzhou don't be stubborn. Go back inside or else she'll hate me more." JingYu said lowering his voice.

"She doesn't hate you okay." Weizhou led him outside.

"Yeah right." JingYu rolled his eyes.

"Tell me what happened. Why'd you cut school?"

"Zhouzhou I'm so sorry for not keeping my word. Got held up again and on top of that my fuckin phone died." He explained regretfully.

"It's okay.. Just te-"

"How was your day hm?" JingYu interjected, holding Weizhou's face in one palm. "Did you miss me?"

"JingYu..don't change the subject." Weizhou was insistent. "Why did you cut school?"

"They called me for an extra shift. It's good money, so I didn't wanna say no."

Weizhou frowned. "We've talked about this! School comes first! Everything else should be secondary."

"Everything except you." JinYu said, pulling Weizhou to him more powerfully this time. "I should have left on time. I'm such an idiot!"

Weizhou still remained somewhat stiff.

"Baby are you still mad at me?" JingYu inquired gently, touching Weizhou's chin to tilt his face upwards.

JingYu studied the genuine concern in Weizhou's eyes tinged with silent understanding and affection.

Without being concerned about where they were, JingYu dove down and claimed his lover's full lips. Weizhou momentarily forgot his anger as he surrendered to the warmth of his boyfriend's embrace, something he craved for all day and night. Their heated bodies were glued together, moving in tandem just as their lips.

Little did they know that their moment of intimacy was being witnessed by not only Liang who had come out for a run that evening, but also Mrs.Xu herself who had been keeping an eye out for Weizhou, through the window.

Mrs.Xu immediately felt guilty and closed the blinds while Liang changed his direction and headed home. However he could not help realizing that Weizhou had never kissed him that passionately and desperately. He felt a spark of envy in his core. However, even with such crystal clear proof that Weizhou was madly in love with someone else, Liang did not feel like completely giving up on Weizhou.

Meanwhile, JingYu and Weizhou were still immersed in their passionate exchange. Slowly but surely, JingYu's patience reached its breaking point. Weizhou could feel JingYu's prominent hardness against his. JingYu abruptly withdrew. "Shit I hate this. There's no place for us to have some privacy."

Weizhou nodded. "Come to my room tonight." He suggested after a moment.

JingYu shook his head in uncertainty. "We can't risk that."

"Just this once...don't you want to?" Weizhou leaned in.

"You know I want to. I'm just afraid that things would get out of hand if I'm alone with you". He held Weizhou in his arms.

"Maybe that's not a bad thing." Weizhou commented cheekily. "Remember I told you, I'll be away for an entire week at the start of the summer vacation." he informed.

"What?" It had completely escaped JingYu's mind.

"It's that leadership camp I signed up for. It's in Shenzhen."

"One week ha.." JingYu thought for a moment. "Okay I'm definitely paying you a visit tonight."

*******

That night, around 11PM, JingYu showed up at Weizhou's window. Within less than a couple of minutes, JingYu was inside and had Weizhou pinned to the wall, showering him with kisses. One of Weizhou's impatient hands descended towards the heat between JingYu's legs. Its astounding size and hardness made Weizhou's mouth water. In the blink of an eye Weizhou changed their positions, and found himself kneeling down before his boyfriend. This was something that JingYu had not even dared to fantasize about. But Weizhou seemed to have no amount of hesitation as he took him in his mouth. He ardently kept pleasuring JingYu, making him whisper endearing nicknames while lovingly caressing his hair.

"My little baby." JingYu's hoarse voice whispered. "So good..baby." he breathed heavily.

Weizhou was lost in a world of bliss, seeing JingYu lustfully watching him and hearing his sexy voice urge him. Before long, JingYu quickly pulled out and made Weizhou stand up for a kiss. They kissed sloppily while JingYu reached his pinnacle and came on Weizhou's hands. Given how close Weizhou himself was, JingYu used his hands to help him finish.

"Stay with me for a bit." Weizhou requested and JingYu was more than happy to agree.

JingYu held Weizhou in his arms as they lay in bed. "You were amazing." JingYu muttered against Weizhou's soft hair.

"Glad to know that my first try at that was a success." Weizhou smiled.

"First try? That was your first time doing that?" JingYu asked in wonder.

"Mmmhmm.." Weizhou responded while fiddling with JingYu's fingers.

JingYu decided against voicing the questions that popped into his head. Instead he kissed Weizhou's forehead, feeling an ocean of protectiveness over the boy in his arms. "I wanna hold you like this till morning." JingYu expressed.

"Then do it.." Weizhou stared at him warmly.

"I wish.."

There was a long pause.

"JingYu.."

"Hmm?"

"Only 15 students from our batch are going for that leadership camp. And...Liang is one of them."

JingYu looked at him. "Should I be concerned?" he asked hesitantly.

"Not at all.. I just wanted to keep you informed, that's all." Weizhou gave him a quick kiss on the lips.

"Okay." JingYu answered as he trusted Weizhou wholeheartedly. It's at moments like this that he silently wondered what he did to deserve Weizhou. At times he couldn't help wondering, what this boy with a bright future ahead of him was doing with someone like him who was still trying to figure out what the hell he wanted to do with his life.

"What are you thinking about?" Weizhou's voice startled him.

JingYu smiled. "Just wondering how to sneak back into my room without making a sound."

"......"

*******

That weekend Weizhou was busy packing for his trip to Shenzhen. Mrs.Xu was there giving him a hand. Ever since Weizhou started dating JingYu, his relationship with his mother was somewhat different. Back then, she would excitedly inquire about Liang and at times even tease him like a best friend about he and Liang's relationship. But now, it was like she preferred to pretend that Weizhou was single. Ever since she indicated that she wasn't happy about Weizhou's decision to be with JingYu, Weizhou avoided discussing that topic with her like the plague. Not discussing anything pertaining to his relationship, which was a huge part of his life already, caused a rift between him and Mrs.Xu.

"You know., during the camp it's best if you stick with those you already know.., like Kim and Liang." Mrs.Xu broke the silence.

"I know many others apart from them." Weizhou answered plainly.

"But they are your best friends."

"Not anymore."

"Why not?"

Weizhou gave a look of disbelief. "Mom please."

"Did JingYu demand you to stop being friends with them?"

Weizhou eyes widened even more. "What? Why would he do that?" His voice was heavy with annoyance and a hint of anger.

"Just a feeling. He's not like Liang, that much I know of." She spoke resentfully.

"Enough mom! If you like Liang that much, why don't you date him?" He spoke thoughtlessly.

"Weizhou!" Mrs.Xu warned., she felt like she was speaking to a stranger.

"I love JingYu and that's not gonna change!" Weizhou surprised both his mother and himself with his response.

"Love?" Mrs.Xu questioned while Weizhou took a moment to process his own realization. "You're still teenagers, what do you know about love.." she stated.

Weizhou had difficulty in forming words.

"You're in too deep Zhou. If it's not mutual you're only gonna end up hurt. Your main concern should be getting into Peking. You can't have distractions. You know I love you so much." She approached her son.

"If you love me, you'd accept me and JingYu's relationship." Weizhou responded dismissively and headed out.

********

That evening while Weizhou was away, Mrs.Xu made her husband sit down for a talk. Mr.Xu had an indifferent attitude towards his son's love life, as long as he was on track to achieving his academic goals. This stemmed from his understanding of Weizhou's determination and commitment to his studies. He knew it had always been his priority.

Now as they sat down in the living room, Mrs.Xu carefully briefed him on the conversation she had with Weizhou that morning.

"...He's become so stubborn." She added in the end.

"Sounds to me like, he's just asking for your acceptance." Mr.Xu commented leisurely.

"Why aren't you more concerned about this ha? He's too serious about this relationship!'

"Haven't we all passed his age? It's just the hormones. Don't think too much of it."

Mrs.Xu fumed. "Hormones my ass! He thinks he loves Jingyu."

Mr.Xu chuckled. "That's why you're getting so worked up?"

"He never said that about Liang, who by the way was just as focused as Weizhou is and not to mention so reliable."

"Okay now what do you want me to do?" Mr.Xu asked in frustration.

"We need to find out more about JingYu to know if he's actually good enough for Zhou. We need to do it before it's too late. It's our responsibility."

"Fine. I'll arrange for us to discuss this with Chang soon." Mr.Xu suggested.

"Yes that would be good, but leave all the talking to me." Mrs.Xu commented insistently.

"........."

"And I'm also gonna talk to the school's new vice principal Mrs.Nong. She may be able to fill me in about JingYu' progress at school."

"Huh are they allowed to do that?"

"We're former classmates and friends." Mrs.Xu smiled proudly.

"........"
