Chapter 9 : The Showdown
Weizhou had refused to meet JingYu the previous day after the call. Even today, it took a lot of effort from JingYu to get Weizhou to meet him.
JingYu kept sending text after text.
"Please Zhouzhou. I need to see you."
"Just for a minute"
"I need to know what's wrong. Help me understand."
"I fucking miss you."
Even though his heart was still in pain, Weizhou finally typed a reply. "Meet me at our spot at 6"

When Weizhou got to the top of the tank, JingYu was already there waiting. He instantly got up and approached Weizhou.
Weizhou was stiff when JingYu wrapped him up in a warm embrace. He felt JingYu's moist lips on the side of his neck slowly moving upwards towards his lips. But Weizhou ended the kiss the very instant it started. He placed his hands on JingYu's chest to gently push him away from him.
"I came here for us to talk JingYu." Weizhou said avoiding JingYu's eyes.
JingYu slowly nodded, "Okay..but I can't stand it when you're standing so far away." He got closer again. He then took Weizhou's hand and led him to sit down next to him."
"Tell me what happened." JingYu squeezed his hand.
"Why are you hiding things for me? Are we together only to make out?"
JingYu stiffened. "Is this about school?"
"When were you gonna tell me that you're way behind again? You told me you were gonna get back on track!"
JingYu looked away. "I said I'd try."
"Did you?"
"Yes!" JingYu withdrew his hand.
"What happened?"
"I did try. But Zhouzhou it's not what I want. I have no interest in school or college."
"Why?" Weizhou asked in confusion.
"It's not for me okay!"
"What are you interested in then?" Weizhou inquired angrily. "Modelling?"
JingYu's eyes suddenly shifted towards Weizhou.
"When were you gonna tell me?" Weizhou managed to contain his anger.
"Who told you?" JingYu's focus on him did not waver.
"That's your concern?"
"It's not modelling exactly. I just did a few photoshoots." JingYu hesitantly admitted.
"What kind of photoshoots? If it's just a few, how come it's been taking up the majority of your time?"
"ZhouZhou-"
"Don't I have a right to know when my boyfriend is being photographed in ways for other people to lust after?" Weizhou was furious.
"Please listen to me." JingYu reached out. "It was really just a few. I was busy cause I work at the studio now."
"How would you feel if I did a couple of photoshoots too? Would be nice to have some extra pocket money." Weizhou mocked.
"Fuck no! I'll kill anyone who dares to even suggest that to you!" JingYu gritted his teeth.
Weizhou didn't push it. He had no complaints regarding JingYu's possessiveness over him. "There was never a book shop, was there?"
"There was! I started there, but when I got an offer for a shoot, and to work there afterwards, I quit. This place pays really well ZhouZhou."
"Why do you need so much money when you're not even concerned about getting into college?"
JingYu looked away.
"I know you're doing this to spite your mother. It's foolish, cause you're messing up your future."
"This doesn't concern her in any way!" JingYu said firmly.
"I don't believe that!"
"See? This is why I didn't wanna tell you these things in the first place!" JingYu snapped.
It felt like a stab for Weizhou.
"Well forgive me for wanting the best for you." Weizhou's voice trembled. He got up.
"Where are you going?" JingYu followed suit.
"Home."
"We're not done talking!"
"I am." Weizhou went towards the ladder.
"Well I'm not!" JingYu grabbed his hand.
"What else do you have to say??
JingYu was too angry to craft a response.
With a heavy heart, Weizhou climbed down while JingYu was lost in thought as he watched him.

In quick steps Weizhou made his way across the street and towards his side of town. After walking for like ten minutes he heard a familiar voice.
"Weizhou!"
When he turned he saw Liang quickly making his way towards him, with a bag in hand.
"Hey." Weizhou said halfheartedly.
"Hey, I was on my way to your place." Liang said.
"Oh why?"
"To give you this." He handed him the small bag. "It's a T-shirt of yours that I had mistakenly packed with my stuff in a rush on Friday."
Weizhou took a peek. "Oh the white one." he slightly smiled.
"Yeah that one." Liang smiled back but his expression soon changed upon seeing someone approach them.
"What the hell is going on here??!" A familiar voice startled Weizhou.
"Get away from him!" JingYu aggressively pushed Liang.
After quietly following Weizhou all along, JingYu had been able to witness Liang handing a bag to Weizhou.
"JingYu!" Weizhou exclaimed.
"Whatever it is give it back this instant!" JingYu demanded indicating the bag.
Liang watched without retaliating.
"It's mine!" Weizhou answered angrily.
JingYu grabbed the bag and took out the T-shirt. "Why did he have this??"
"Cause I'd taken it by mistake." Liang answered fearlessly.
"I wasn't talking to you!" JingYu barked.
"What he said is the answer. He had packed it by mistake when were getting ready to come back!" Weizhou took a deep breath. "We were roommates...along-"
JingYu didn't let Weizhou complete his sentence and went onto grab Liang by the collar.
"You did it on purpose!" He snapped at Liang.
Liang immediately pushed aside his hand. "So what if I did?"
"You have a death wish!" JingYu took a step forward again.
"JingYu stop!" Weizhou grabbed his hand.
"Stay out of this! You have the audacity to speak after lying to me??" JingYu glared at Weizhou.
"Don't lash out at him!" Liang cut in, standing firm.
JingYu raised his eyebrows, fuming.
"Does he always treat you like this?" Liang questioned Weizhou, ignoring the fact that JingYu was close to beating him up.
Weizhou was so angry that he was close to tears. "Look I'm not an object to fight over! And no I wouldn't let anyone mistreat me. I'm not weak! Liang I don't need you to defend me-"
"There's nothing to fight over, you're already mine!" JingYu pointed out bitterly. "And if you like living, you'd back the hell off." He warned Liang.
"Look how the tables have turned. If you're so confident in your relationship, why are you getting all worked over something so small?" Liang ridiculed.
JingYu scoffed. "I tried my best to not let this get ugly. But since you keep asking for it."
"Fucking stop! Both of you!" Weizhou exclaimed.
JingYu watched Weizhou for a second. "Are you concerned for his safety? " When he was stressed out and furious there was no rational thinking involved before he spoke.
"Screw you JingYu! At least his argument is valid!" Weizhou snapped but regretted it soon afterwards.
JingYu forced himself to calm down for a second. "Who the fuck is your man? Me or him??"
He shot one last intense glare at Weizhou before dropping the bag in his hand and walking away.
"JingYu!" Weizhou called.
Yet JingYu didn't stop or turn.
