"Jacobs coming, you'll have to deal with him." Alice's stern words were met with a glare as both hybrid and vampire interacted for the first time in days.
It's been a month since the wedding and all had been blissful, Violet and Emmett's engagement had been a short lived hype. Besides the family there wasn't anyone who knew about it other then the random person who stopped her in the grocery store to exam the rock on her finger. Each day she grew more nervous then the last, what if Sam found out?
Time had come to a standstill a few days ago however, when it'd been announced that Bella was pregnant and Violet was standing by her side. Now there was a definite line between Cullens.
Where once they were a united front there was nothing but conflict between each of them.
Alice stared down at her newest sister, anger in her eyes as she tried to find reason to Violets words. How could she side with Bella if it meant her death?
Yes, Bella had called the hybrid the moment her husband had decided he would be saving her and not the child she harbored in her womb. And without much complaint Vi had taken her side as well, bringing Emmett to their side alongside Esme.
She didn't really have a reason as to why she had taken it upon herself to cause the divide but more so for Bella. It was difficult when others were making decision for your well being so she had willingly went along.
Alice, of course, had taken the opposing team and there was now clear tension.
Violet sighed, flickering her eyes towards the road where Jakes faint bike was coming in the distance. He would be here in 5 minutes and no doubt storm in search of the human girl currently shivering as Vi placed a blanket over her body.
Bella's sinking eyes widened for a fraction as her hand went to her stomach, without a doubt worrying. Violet placed her tanned palm over the human's alabaster skin and have her a reassuring smile. "I'll try and talk to him before he gets through, no promises. Emmett?"
The large male was by her side in an instant, "yeah?"
She sighed, flickering her eyes between the human and Edward who was permanently glaring her way. "Keep Bella company while I do damage control."
Translation, don't leave her alone.
Emmett understood his fiancé immediately, her eyes tightening a fraction as she looked his way and pleaded. He didn't really give an objection however, simply nodding and sitting on the ground besides Bella's body who patted his shoulder as he offered her a smile. Vi was thankful Emmett followed her without question, he hadn't once objected since this whole alliance had started, merely keeping silent.
Violet looked around the room, noticing how the tires of his bike grew closer and everyone stared her down awaiting her walk towards the door.
She muttered under her breath, "for fucks sake, it's Jacob guess I'm the only one not threatened by him then."
She was opening the door just as his hand lifted to knock. Her brown eyes observed everything about him within seconds, there was dark circles under his eyes although they weren't as bad as Bella's but they still grew worry. He looked out of breath yet being in top physical peak and she had no doubt it was from his erratic heartbeat.
Her mouth moved before words managed to come out of her mouth, drawing blank as to how to break the news.
Jacob however spring forward, enclosing her between his arms. She could feel the warmth from his body pressed tightly against her own and his nostrils sucking in the summer smell to her body, like he was surprised to see her.
When he pulled away he had forced her to step back and now was in the house. Jake kept his arms on the top of her shoulders, keeping her at an arms distance despite the warning growl of her boyfriends that came from the other room he didn't care. "Vi, you're alive. They said something happened and I thought it was you or Bella. Bella! Where is Bella?"
He went to walk around her, down the hall where he would inevitably find out the truth.
Violet whirled around, using her short height to duck around to his arm and stop his fast movement. Her hands stuck out and pushed him slightly back, using as little strength as possible and keeping the panic from influencing her facial expression.
He looked confused at her random dominance, stopping in his tracks and giving her a questioning glare. Violet dropped her hands once she knew he wouldn't move around her and decided to speak. "Jacob, there's something you need to know. It's not easy to explain but you have to listen to me before I let you go in there. There's a lot you have to understand."
"Vi? What are you saying?" The apprehensive tone in Jake's voice had her panicking even more as she knew there was seconds left for her before he would be drawing his own conclusions.
"Jake, is that you?" Bella's weak voice caught the supernatural's ear and the wolf was looking at the hybrid, slowly putting pieces together. She gulped realizing that even with what he was imagining it was in no way near what was actually occurring.
Jake faltered in his steps, "She's here? "
Vi didn't even bother putting up a fight when he went around her, merely keeping up with his long strides as she continued to speak. "They came home two weeks ago, but Jake—"
She gave up as soon as the light from the living room hit his face and he was viewing Bella. The hybrid could imagine what was going through his mind as he found a practically lifeless Bella. Her sunken eyes were no longer that puzzling shade of brown that was too light to be considered muddy but not enough to be hazel, now they were practically black pits of emptiness. Her skin was greying in some places, fingers frail and thin as she fumbled with the blanket covering most of her. Emmett was blocking the way to Bella, so the belly bump wasn't quite clear to see.
Bella had poked her head around his side, and she gave a warming smile. "'Im glad you came."
When Jake attempted to get near her Emmett stepped closer to him, halting his moves as his darkened eyes went from his mate to the wolf, asking if it was okay.
Jacob clearly didn't understand what was happening as he scoffed and voice grew aggressive. "What's your problem?"
Still Emmett didn't move, his eyes focused on Vi who placed a hand on Jacobs shoulders, signaling him to calm down. "Jake... listen."
"What are you doing?" His tone was a tad darker then before, confusion turning to anger.
"Vi, it's okay." Bella broke the tension.
Violet chose not to argue, looking at her mate and nodding her head. He moved out of the way then, walking behind her and wrapping an arm around her waist. Emmett knew she was stressed beyond belief since the whole ordeal had gone down, and now with Jacob things were going to get much more complicated.
Jake assessed Bella, keeping the emotion from washing over his eyes as he decides to make light of the confusing situation. "You look terrible."
Bella managed a giggle, although it took quite a lot of her energy. "Yeah, it's nice to see you, too."
Jacob swallowed thickly as he instinctually felt his next question would change his life forever. "So, are you gonna tell me what's wrong with you?"
Instead of directly answering she looked behind him, towards the hybrid who had been silently watching as her world slowly began to burn. "Vi, you wanna help me up?"
Violet cleared her throat at the heated gaze that fell upon her by the boy she'd claimed as a best friend years ago. Diverting from his eyes she walked around him and slowly pushed the blanket from Bella's body. Her loose shirt had risen up her body, displaying the purple and blue bruises decorating her skin. Jacob sucked in a quick breath of air at the site and the Cullen's all froze unexpectedly. No matter how many times any of them did actually see it they all reacted the exact same way Jake had, even Vi, although she controlled hers.
She pulled Bella to a stand, helping the girl gain her balance before releasing her. The hybrid stepped away, keeping her eyes on Bella as the girl adjusted her top and then placed her thinning arms around the bump the way a normal pregnant women would.
Jake was silent longer then necessary, which caused Vi to tense. Her first instinct was to protect Bella and shield her away from the rage that was building in Jacob the longer he processed the situation.
He snapped after the long pause, whirling around to find Edward with murder in his eyes. He was going to rip the vampires head off with his best hands at the rate of his anger.
"You did this!"
Emmett stepped in then, hand against Jacobs shoulders as he kept the wold in place.
Edward didn't even flinch at the accusation, "We didn't know it was even possible."
Jacob shook off the vampire holding him in place, looking back to Bella before questioning everyone else in the room. "What is it?"
Carlisle being the profession spoke up, "l'm not sure. Ultrasounds and needles won't penetrate the embryonic sac."
Alice from her corner next to Jasper also added in her input. "l can't see it, either. And l can't see Bella's future anymore."
The leader of the coven continued his own stance on the subject. "We've been researching legends, but there isn't much to go on. What we do know is that it's strong. And fast-growing."
He read the words as danger, knowing the girl he loved was on the line his hands flew up and finger pointed towards Bella's growing bump in accusations. "Why haven't you done anything? Take it out of her!"
"Jacob." Violet cut him off. "That's not for you to decide."
"You're siding with her?" He accused, finally understand why Vi had been reluctant to let him inside. He never thought he'd see the day she was on Bella's side, but it seemed his worst nightmares were slowly turning into reality.
"Watch your tone with me! I'm not letting her get pushed into something she doesn't want to do." Violet was at full force, and brief flashes of the wedding night went through Jake's head.
"Violet." Esme cut the fight short, mother tone taking over. "All this fighting isn't good for Bella."
Alice scoffed. "The fetus isn't good for Bella."
Bella turned her head, protective as she spoke. "Say the word, Alice. "Baby." lt's just a little baby."
"Possibly." She retorted.
Jacob turned back towards the doctor, pleading for the girl he loved who was so cluelessly walking straight towards her own death. "Carlisle, you've gotta do something."
"No. lt's not his decision. lt's not any of yours." Bella turned to glance at everyone opposed to her, clarifying once more that she would not be backing down.
Jacob chose to ignore her, glaring down the two people who were behind his anger. "Edward, Violet, outside now."
Vi looked back towards Emmett who seemed reluctant to let her leave his side with a volatile wolf following them but nonetheless turned back to Bella's side as she simply nodded towards him.
She followed the boys, keeping her distance in the back as she swallowed her nerves and knew it was her time to prove her stance.
"I always knew you'd destroy her." Jacob yells once they were behind the lining of trees and away from Bella's human hearing. He went from Edward to Violet, all the fury storming his eyes. "And you Violet, what are you doing? You don't even like her! Why are you trying to kill her now!"
Edward chose to speak first explaining the situation further. "She thinks Carlisle can turn her at the last minute, like he did for me, Violet and Esme."
Jacob's heart skipped a beat at the possible conclusion to the situation. "Can he?"
Edward stalled in answering, knowing the odds were slim. "Probability is slight. And if her heart fails... Look, Jacob, l need you to do something for me. For her. You have a connection with her that l'll never understand. Maybe you could talk to her, change her mind. You can keep her alive."
"And if l can't?"
"lf she dies, you get what you always wanted. To kill me." Edward concluded the other way Bella's pregnancy could go.
Wether Jacob was satisfied with the outcome or not he didn't show as his eyes moved onto the petite hybrid for her own explanation. "And you? What do you have to say?"
"Look, you weren't on the other end of the phone call when she spoke okay. She was begging me to choose her side, she knew everyone would take Edwards side. She wants her baby Jacob, are you really anyone to tell her against it?" She crossed her arms, voice flawlessly strong despite her initial nerves.
"You're kidding me right? It'll kill her!"
"And it'll kill her if they kill the baby!" She belted out at a higher tone, the wind picked up at her tone as she realized that her powers were growing out of control. A slow breath escaped her lips as she massaged her temples and found a simpler way to explain it. "Look, what neither of your idiots seem to grasp is that if you take this thing by force you'll kill Bella. A family? A real, human like family is what she's always wanted and yet here you idiots are taking it away from her."
If they agreed or not neither cared to explain as Jake turned back towards the house, his feet stomping loudly. Violet was left with an angry Edward who turned her way.
She was silent however, watching Jacobs retreating figure until his human ears were far enough to not catch her quick words. "He's gonna tell the wolves and when they find out it's gonna be war."
"How do you know that?"
"This is my wolves we're discussing, I know them inside and out. They refuse to kill me because I was once one of them even though they don't understand what I am now, that's why they've expelled me. But Bella and... her baby, they've only cared about Jacob and with all the rage brewing in him it'll mean war."
"So what do we do?"
"I have a plan..."
"You'll get killed." He retorted.
She sighed in frustration, turning and walking backwards towards the house as she lifted her palm. Flames danced around her fingers, "trust me the only ones who should be afraid of death is them."

"Let's go." Violet lifted herself gracefully from the concrete steps Jacob was running down from. Her black distressed jeans stretched out as she walked further towards a rampaging Jacob.
"What the hell do you mean?" He questioned her as he forgot entirely about his bike and went straight into the moves.
Violet kept up in her heeled boots, pushing her chocolate brown hair back. "You're telling the wolves and unless you say this correctly they'll kill Bella."
"No they won't."
"Yes they will." She corrected him, "which means either you step up to the alpha role you were meant to and tell my brother to go fuck himself or attack me. Either way I'm coming."
"Vi..."
"Just shift so I can ride on your back." She firmly ended the conversation, she was beyond nervous but awaited his transformation.
She turned her back, feeling his clothes thrown at her feet as she continued to wait. It wasn't long until the wolf part of him was heard which also mean the wolves were now hearing him much clearer.
Howls commenced as she scooped up the clothes and jumped onto his back, tightening her fist around his long hairs.
She braced herself as the distance between the Cullen's and her Sam's house became short and soon enough they were standing in front of her brother residence, most of the wolves in their human forms and awaiting as they arrived back.
They stopped just outside of the tree lining, Violet throwing Jakes clothes to the ground as she heard him quickly zip everything up. Soon, he was standing beside her, eyes on her face as he saw nerves flicker across her eyes for the briefest of seconds before she was emotionless again.
"They're waiting, ready?" Jacob asked low enough for the packs human ears not to detect.
"No," she mumbled back, checking to make sure her emotions were intact. Lately that's all she would worry about, not getting to hyped over anything otherwise she could cause a volcano to explode or an earthquake to commence. That's why she relaxed her shoulders and turned back towards the wolf, "but let's do this."
"What the hell is it?" Paul was the first to walk towards the duo, his voice demanding as ever. He admitted that seeing Vi there nearly
made his eyes pop out of his skull but there was bigger things to worry about, one of which he'd heard in Jake's head alongside the other wolves while they were patrolling the wolves. It came as almost a shock considering they expected anything but what Jacob had seen, but it was happening now and they were no doubt going to deal with it.
Vi flickered her eyes between all the wolves, noting how everyone was clueless. Her brother had his eyes directed her way but she barely acknowledged him as she was still thriving with anger from the past, not to mention the set of beating hearts in his house she could hear.
"Vi," Jake sighed, "you want to explain."
"What's more to explain," scoffed Jared. Crossing his arms as fury and disgust peaked. "It's a monster, it'll kill us all if we don't kill it ourselves."
"You kill it you'll kill Bella." Seth seemed to be the only one sympathetic enough to speak lowly. In a way he was the more mature one of them all as everyone agreed with Jared's statement.
"So?" Embry's blunt tone made both the opposing hybrid and wolf snap their heads his way.
"What the hell does that mean?" Snarled Jacob while Violet attempted to keep her anger bottled the best possible.
"She's dead anyways! What does it matter!" Leah snapped, bitter tone taking over.
Vi was there before Jake could turn, she broke the invisible barrier separating the groups. She came right between the group, pushing the wolves away until her hand was clasping Leah's throat and lifting the taller girl off the ground. Violets eyes were a smoldering obsidian, like death was at her beck and call.
Leah gasped, scratching at the hybrids strong skin, still Violet did not waver. "Leah I suggest you take that statement back."
"Violet drop her." Jake calmly spoke to his friend knowing she was passing her breaking point. An unstable Violet Uley had never been pleasant when they were humans and would be catastrophic as a hybrid.
Still she didn't waver, Leah gasping for air as she kicked out while Vi kept her hand as firm as ever. She continued to talk and ignore, "you don't know what's happening. You have no place to judge."
"Violet!" Sam ordered, speaking with a deeper tone in hopes it would snap something in his sister.
Nothing, she only narrowed her eyes and tightened her grip. "None of you can make that decision over her and her babies life. The Cullen's have done nothing but obeyed by laws our ancestors set in place years ago. That treaty is older then some of the tribes here but still you all seem to think it applies. I'm sick of it. I'm sick of all you thinking you run this town, we're bad people just like everyone else."
"VIOLET DROP HER!" Joshua Uley stepped off the porch, the tall man dominating most of the attention. He may not have turned into a wolf but he was much more frightening then any of them.
His voice was the only thing that seemed to snap her out, she dropped Leah, allowing the girl to cough as her throat was able to fully suck in cold air. Violet looked at the man she had once claimed to be her favorite person on earth, noticing how tattered he looked now and she growled. He may have frightened the pack and her once before but she was no longer part of the wolves and she most definitely no longer afraid of him.
Sam panicked, noticing the differences in his sisters facial expressions. She was no longer the frightened child running to hide behind him from the drunk father but she was a force of her own.
"Who the hell do you think you are! You don't even speak or look at me, did I not make myself clear the last time?" She growled, and her fingers danced with flames by her sides. She couldn't feel it, it was all one big power surge. "You are dead to me, you pitiful drunk."
Joshua couldn't understand what had made his daughter so cold, why she was the picture of true power. He was slightly proud of the authority she still held between the wolves despite her banishment but at what cost had it come? Long gone was the girl who would fall asleep on his chest as he sang her to sleep, now she was made of storms and hell.
"Enough!" Sam cut in then. "We have to protect the tribe. What they've bred won't be able to control its thirst. Every human will be in danger."
While the pack agreed immediately, voicing their opinions as loud as possible Jacob and Violet were left on the outskirts.
"We have real enemies to fight tonight. Violet you will stay out of the way." Sam turned his attention solely to them, alpha voice announced. It was the type of voice that made anyone submit had they not been the rightful heir to the alpha and his sister.
"Tonight?" Jacob questioned and Violet for brief moment thought he was going to side with them.
Sam didn't answer his question directly but instead lowly answered. "You will fight with us, Jake."
Violet stepped forward, acting before thinking her emotions through and slapping her brother across the face. Her snarled, rage consuming him as he shifted into a wolf right then and there. The rest of the pack jumped back. Jacob even shifting into his wolf as he snarled and prepared to defend his best friend. She didn't waver however, not once did she even flinch as she watched the man she'd loved since the first day of her life become someone entirely foreign. A snarl left her lips when his black wolf growled and snapped her way, warning her. "Go to fucking hell Samuel, you won't touch my family."
Jacob stepped next to her, almost rising in height the longer he spoke. His wolf came into its full potential, clearly taller then Sam as his growls were much deeper. "l will not. I am the grandson of Ephraim Black. I am the grandson of a chief! I wasn't born to follow you, or anyone else."
And with that they had done the unthinkable, not only had they sided against their pack but the duo had sided with vampires.

"Vi! Vi!" Emmett ran up to his mate as she jumped off Jacobs back. His hand found the sides of her face, grasping her high cheekbones and looking her up and down to make sure nothing had happened. If any of them had harmed one hair on her head he would have slaughtered them painfully.
Thankfully she was okay, pressing her lips to his own in order to calm him and it worked both ways as her heart rate slowed down. They pulled apart as Jacob shifted behind the bushes and walked into the house where Bella was resting somewhere upstairs.
The Cullen's were all gathered around the room, ally's once more, a united front to protect one of their own.
"Sam's lost the element of surprise, and he doesn't want to take you on outnumbered, so he's not gonna come at you head on. He's got the place surrounded and he'll wait for his opportunity." Jacob explained, concentrating on what he had managed to grasp before the mind link had shut off.
"Which means we won't get through without a fight, none of us." Violet continued to clarify.
"No fights. We won't be the ones to break the treaty." Carlisle disagreed immediately, always wanting to maintain peace.
"The treaty is void, at least in Sam's mind." Vi retorted. "
"Not in ours." Esme clarified.
"Carlisle, no one's hunted for weeks." Emmett spoke up from his spot near Vi, hands pressed firmly against her waist as he planned to keep her near him as long as possible. The howls and snarls that had been heard all the way to the residence had panic stricken him.
"We'll make do. You've done us a great service you two. Thank you." Carlisle nodded grateful toward the wolf and hybrid before walking towards the stairs where presumably he would check on Bella.
"I'm gonna go make rounds of the perimeter." Jacob announced, nodding his head towards Violet and patting her shoulder as he walked by.
The hybrid looked out the windows as the room became empty. Emmett stayed put, concentrating on distinguishing her thoughts until she spoke. "I want you to know something Emmett, I'll protect you with my dying breath... even if it's from my own brother."
