Christmas time approached them quicker then anticipated, and while the Volturi did not appear before then Emily Young did. She sent a flurry of texts to Violet reminding her that Christmas was mandatory, come war or not they would celebrate the festivities and so the brunette had no choice but to attend. A part of her was glad though, they could all use a moment of happiness between them all. Emily had also mentioned that this message was not just for her but all those in the Cullen household who would be gracious enough to attend so Vi encouraged the rest of the Cullen's and vampire clans to join them and although some were more reluctant to join, most did. Benjamin and his mate Tia were there, the Denali coven seemed willing as well, Garrett and Stone went along as well. The group from Scotland clan appeared, as well as a few nomads who agreed to keeping their appetite at bay.

They were all hanging around Sam's house, conversing with one another while Seth introduced the wolves to the vampires and attempted his best to make everyone friendly.

"This is nice, kind of weird, but nice." Emmett hummed into Violets ear. His hands hadn't left her body since reconciling, they were practically inseparable. Currently his thumb was pressed against the small in her back, rubbing smooth circles repeatedly.

She leaned back, looking up to see his smirking face looking down at him. "Oh hush, you're weird."

"Says the girl who literally lit the lanterns with a flick of her finger."

"Touché."

"You two are annoyingly adorable." Kate remarked to them, nose upturned like she was trying to make it seem that much more believable.

Vi scoffed, straightening out so she could get a better look at the blonde, "thank you. We would do it on the dinner table right now to further prove your point if there weren't children around."

"What children?" Jacob questioned after a moment stifling laughter, Renessme hadn't shown just yet as her parents and the rest of the Cullen's were dealing with the guests who had stayed back so he was comfortably third wheeling Violet and Emmett.

"Seth." Violet remarked, pointing her beer towards the smiling boy talking to Benjamin and Paul.

"Hey! I'm not!" He remarked back, genuinely offended as everyone tried to stifle a laugh.

"Yes, you are pup," Paul wrapped his arm around the boy and squeezed. "It's okay though, we still love you."

Seth shoved him away playfully, "I can beat you Paul."

Paul decided not to entirely answer him, instead choosing to answer with an eye roll and look at Rachel with a disbelieving look. He truly had changed in demeanors.

"Alright before this turns into Lucha Libre," Sam called the attention. Emily stood beside him in a beautiful black dress, she had a thick coat overtop that matched perfectly and her face was done up in a very natural way. She looked radiant holding onto Sam happily, her cheeks still had a warm tint as she'd just pulled out the last of the biscuits from the oven. Sam looked downward, tightening his arm around her waist as to pull her any closer as the group settled. "Emily has something she'd like to tell everyone."

Emily looked slightly embarrassed cheeks turning an even darker shade of scarlet as she squeezed his hand over her shoulder. "Guys... we're pregnant!"

"YOU BITCH! I ASKED YOU EARLIER!" Violet scoffed, knowing she had been right all along. Her outburst was met with many laughs and blank stares her way from the vampires while her werewolf counterparts laughed, even Emily snorted aloud. Vi realized how loud her outburst had been and decided to clap her hands together as Emmett sighed in slight amusement. "Oh... but congrats! IM GONNA BE AN AUNT!! YES!"

She pushed away from Emmett, grasping his falling hand and pulling him along as she ran up to her brother and sister in law. Emily extended her arms speaking to the girl, "I sincerely hope this mouth of yours is not hereditary."

"You didn't know our mom." Sam muttered as he shook Emmett's hand.

"Congratulations but I'm also saying sorry in advance if your child's first word is holy fuck," Emmett joked, hugging his brother in law.

"I'm not, there's nothing that breaks tension more then that." She retorted, squeezing Emily with light pressure. The women pulled back quickly as there were more waiting to congratulate her but she placed her hand over the pregnant women's belly long enough to say, "don't worry my little peanut, Auntie Vi is gonna teach you all the cool shit so boys or girls know to fear you."

"That's very encouraging," Paul said from behind Rachel. "Can you move, my girlfriends about to punch you for hogging Emily."

Rachel slapped his arm, "hey! It was supposed to be a sneak attack!"

"I heard you whisper it to him a minute ago but whatever," Vi snorted, moving to the side and pulling her brother into a hug. "My big bro is about to be a dad! I think I could cry!"

"What do you know, the devil has emotions." Jared commented, he took a moment to sip from his red cup before realizing his mistake and stepping behind a snickering Kim.

"The devil also has fire balls coming out of her hand, so zip it unless you want to become a kabob." She narrowed her eyes although her lip twitched with amusement.

"How do you deal with her again?" Jacob questioned Emmett.

"I try not to piss her off so much. How'd you deal with her?"

"That probably would have been a good idea thinking back."

"True!" The Pack and even Vi herself seemed to answer.

"The tribe has spoken... quite literally." Stone laughed, clapping Jacobs shoulder. The vampires had been silent, laughing along but it seemed that Garrett and Stone were the friendliest.

"All these boys, how did you deal with it?" Kate questioned when Vi walked back over their way, Emmett closely behind.

"Alcohol, and threats mostly." She shrugged.

"You were born a vampire then." Eleazar had responded in his slight accent.

Carmen nodded in agreement, wrapping her arm around her mate tighter then before, "we have to admit, being here with all of you—we never thought we'd see the day. After Laurant and Irina, we just never assumed we'd have a healthy relationship with the Cullen's again."

"She's right," Tanya spoke. "We felt awful after rejecting Carlisle's plea for help when the newborns attacked you all and now we see we were wrong and clouded by misjudgment much like Irina is today."

"It's in the past," Emmett softly nodded, speaking on behalf of his family. "I thank you for being understanding and coming with Violet and I, embracing the wolves now."

"It's not hard to get along with someone as hilarious as these two Emmett," Kate added in, motioning towards Jacob and Violet.

"I don't really have a word in this but may I say that I never thought I'd like wolves as much as I do today and that's all thanks to you Violet." Garrett added in.

Vi snorted in happiness, cheeks turning a brighter pink just as the trees behind them shuffled, alerting them that more were arriving. Renessme appeared out of the bushes, running straight into Jacobs arms. He lifted her until she sat upon his hip and the little girl leaned into kiss his cheek before turning and doing the same to Vi. She placed her hand against the women's cheek and showed her the memory of the Christmas she'd shared at her grandfathers house, showcasing the bracelets Jacob had gifted her.

"It's beautiful Ness!" Vi answered, winking at the little girl. Renessme then lifted her wrist and shuffled it around, the brown suede shining as she jingled it around. The little one was so proud of it her eyes were bright as she watched it bounce.

The Cullen's slowly stared to appear, Bella acknowledging Vi with a pat on her shoulder as she stood on the other side of Jacob with Edward by her arm. "Charlie asked me to tell you hello, and to say sorry for not coming he wanted to pack before leaving."

"The fishing scheme worked?" Vi questioned.

"We didn't have to even try," Edward said. "Sue will take care of him and he'll enjoy his trip."

"You should have gotten him tickets to the Seahawk's, he would already be in Seattle." Emmett answered.

"You were gonna give up those seats?" Vi turned with a raised brow, questioning her mate. Emmett had tickets to the Seahawks playoffs and unfortunately one of their biggest days fell on the days Alice had predicted would be their maybe deaths, the man was resilient however and refused to believe anything would happen so he'd kept them.

Emmett's eyes narrowed at her slightly, silently reminded how well the women knew him. He shrugged his shoulders, "alright fine, maybe not."

The group laughed in unison, Vi shaking her head at her mate and kissing the curve of his jaw. "Anyways, how is training going Bella?"

"I'm getting better, Kate tried helping and that seemed to boost my abilities but it's a day by day thing." The brunette responded timidly.

Violet nodded her head, a little saddened that she hadn't gotten to witness it firsthand but the chance to spend time with her childhood friends could not be passed up.

"Take your time, it's not like we've got anything important to do later." Emmett commented, and everyone eyes him after he speaks. His smirk did not waver, "what? I can't joke about my death?"

"Kind of cynical don't you think." Stone inquired.

"Oh please," he scoffed back, "we're a bunch of undead vampires trying not to be dead "dead" and I'm the cynical one?"

Edward was the first to crack, pink lips lifting into a laugh that slowly began to escape everyone around them. Violet was shaking her head, cackling and standing on her toes to kiss Emmett's jaw. "You're a fool."

"A fool in love." He muttered, craning his neck to kiss her full lips.

The two were met with an array of "boos" and Paul's ever so lovely "if you're gonna try making babies I will dowse you with the holy water." The two stopped, Violet even poking out her tongue and lifting her middle finger out to the wolves who merely snickered.

"Sam! Sorry, we took so long some of our guests needed to get settled in." Carlisle's calm voice alerted to the rest of the Cullen's showing up. Esme was by his side and she smiled softly at everyone, her heart shaped face glowing with the amount of love being spread around. Violet know that the women wanted nothing more then peace between the two kinds and now it seemed that she was getting her wish despite the terror looming over their heads.

Violet smile slowly fell off when she noticed the beautiful Rosalie stepping out of the forest, golden eyes cautious as the party went silent. The hybrid couldn't help but stare at her, she was a perfect blonde, pale skin, the epitome of femininity, and of course those piercing eyes that could silence anyone. They were polar opposites and yet somehow they'd both made the same man fall madly in love with them on separate occasions.

Vi squared her shoulders, not believing that it was her taking the first steps into a friendship? She wasn't very good at making friends with girls, it was a wonder why her and Emily actually managed to get along or even Alice for that matter but she needed to do it. In her head she had nothing to fear, Emmett was the love of her life and he had reassured her of such, so what if Rosalie was gorgeous, she was Violet Uley, the Queen of Wolves and the Elemental Hybrid, this was not a competition but she had nothing to worry about.

Rosalie's head was high despite the obvious discomfort reflected in her eyes, they flickered from the child in Bella's hands that continued to mutter things to every vampire and werewolf in the vicinity to Esme who had kept at her side. Vi took a pause, sucking in a low breath and then taking her first step forward, surprisingly it wasn't Emmett who paused her though but Jacob who stuck his hand in front of her waist, "Vi..." he warned lowly, flickering his eyes to the blonde and then back to his best friend.

She rolled her eyes with an exasperated sigh, "I'm just gonna say hello." His eyes narrowed, disbelieving every word, she rolled her own back and shoved his hand away, "I'm not a rabid dog asshole, I know when to hold back."

Jacob didn't believe her entirely but when he noticed that Emmett wasn't following behind he turned his attention to the tall vampire with a raised brow. The curly haired male shrugged his shoulder, pushing back to the sleeves of his grey jacket, "I trust her."

Jacob decided to believe him, sighing and taking a step back next to Bella, feeling Renesmee's thin fingers beginning to prod at his face and mutter about the bracelet he'd crafted for her.

Violet walked across the dirt, towards the other side of her brother's backyard where the rest of the Cullen were chatting with her brother and his fiancée and where Rosalie stood. The tips of her finger were buzzing with nerves and she silently thanked Benjamin once more for showing her how to control it all otherwise flames would have been encompassing her entire body and possibly leaving footprints behind her.

When she arrived she muttered a quick hello to the Cullen parents, turning her attention after a moment to the blonde and sticking her hand out, "I think it's time we met, hello, I'm Violet Uley."

The blonde stared at her outstretched for a moment and Vi could see just how nervous she was to do this, her honey eyes were as still as the rest of her form for a second longer. Vi slowly began to regret doing this the longer she stood there and just as she decided to pull her hand back and turn away as if the moment hadn't occurred a pale hand met her own. Rosalie's cold digits were as natural as the touch of Emmett's palm against her back and Vi found a smile forming on her lips.

"Rosalie Hale, I agree."

They pulled away after a moment, the blonde finally relaxing her shoulder and reflecting a smile.

"I know that I may have seemed like an ass the other day, and I'm sorry about it because jealousy is not a flattering trait but now that I know more about what's happening I think we can be friends. And formalities aside, I promise I'm not that big of a bitch, I just like to act like one."

The night seemed to go on, the vampires turned out to be even friendlier then the wolves thought which allowed for them all to swap war stories. Most of the wolves seemed to be in awe of the way Stone and Garrett have detailed descriptions of the blood they'd shed over centuries. Jacob was the one with most of the questions, wanting every last detail. The rest of them mingled, enjoying the celebrations.

Vi was leaned against her boyfriend, his arm wrapped around her shoulders as she held the beer in her hand and watched the fire from her spot on the porch. Emmett was going on about his vegetarian lifestyle to Benjamin when she noticed her brother.

Sam was sat on the logs near the fire, barely listening to the tales told from him not far off, his eyes were on the fire and Vi could instantly tell what he was overthinking. Her brother tended to worry before anything ever happened, he could predict a hundred different scenarios over a plan years before it happened, he was just that person. She patted Emmett's hand, kissing his lips with one push to the tip of her toes and then twirling out of his hold. He didn't bother to question where she was going, merely pausing the conversation long enough to see her direction and then turn back with a smile on his lips. Despite knowing she was able to care for herself, that was his heart that walked away from his grasp and he'd always assure that she was safe no matter how far she went.

Vi took a seat next to her brother, deliberately pressing her knees to the outside of his thigh and taking a swig of his beer. She smiled at him, allowing the bitter taste to wash over her taste buds and swallowing. "I know that look, I used to get that look all that time."

"Am I that predictable?" Sam questioned.

She smiled at her brother, watching as the shadows of the flames used his face as a canvas before answering him, "no brother, I just know you that well."

He sighed, pulling the beer out of her hands and taking a drink as he responded, "alright, so tell me."

Vi nodded, patting his knee, "you're worried about Emily and the war which is fine, everyone is and you especially. You're about to be a father, so it is your duty to be alive for his or hers birth but you're also an alpha, to a very large pack might I add, which means you have an obligation to them. You want to stay home for Emily and your unborn baby but you also want to be there, because alphas don't sit back in their cabin, they are out in the battlefield with their pack. There's a million and one things that could go wrong, and then there's also me, you don't want to leave me by myself. Do I sound right?"

In response Sam chugged more beer, silently agreeing with her.

She clicked her tongue with the roof of her mouth, his thought process was leading to one decision and like the many worries in his head she too knew the answer. "You're going to war with us, but you don't know how to tell Emily this."

"I know she's afraid, she was afraid to tell me about the baby." He answered, eyes briefly passing over his fiancée who was making conversation with Esme and Bella. "Emily wants me to be here for the baby, but I can't if I let my pack members die."

"So tell her that Sam," Vi responded. "She's you're fiancée, your imprint, and your soulmate of all people Emily will understand. There's a chance this won't end in a war, that we will be okay. Sam, you don't always have to think of the bad, there is hope. And besides, if it comes to war I swear on my life you will come back. That child will have a father to remember, because I won't let you die Sam. You spent your entire life protecting me, now it's my turn to return the favor."

Sam stared at his sister reflecting over the many years they'd spent together, despite her age he would never get past the Vi he had taken care of as a toddler. Even now, he could still picture the missing teeth and frizzy haired girl running into his room late at night after a bad dream and sleeping at the foot of his bed because she didn't want to wake him. He knew then that she would be a warrior, he just never imagined it'd be in this way. "I never did get to say sorry for forcing you to turn that night, maybe our live would be entirely different."

"Don't be," she responded, turning her head back to look at Emmett who was animatedly discussing going hunting with Benjamin still. His eyes were lighting up the longer he talked and as if he could sense her vision his eyes flickered towards her, grinning from ear to ear instantly. "You gave me a life unlike any other Sam, it's because of you I found the love of my life. Thank you brother, this life has truly been remarkable, and your child will get to experience it with us."

I honestly don't even have words to say how sorry I am for taking this long. I think I'm not ready to let this go.
