"Bella... how long did it take you to learn how to walk?"
The frustrated words left Violet Uley's mouth as she stared down Bella Swan who for the last two hours had attempted to properly walk in her wedding heels. The hybrid had taken it upon herself to teach the human how to gracefully execute walking down the aisle in what Bella called death tarps. The tan brunette thought it would be simple, she had learned how to maneuver the shoes practically overnight for her job at the club and yet Bella couldn't take four steps without tripping.
Since the day she had escaped the Cullens house the brown eyed beauty had since forced herself to make an effort in this next chapter of her life. Her mood had significantly lifted since the beginning of her afterlife, and it astounded every Cullen alike. Since her arrival from her unknown trip the girl had involved herself further into her new life, laughing and acting like the old Violet Uley once more.
Emmett was slightly concerned about her sudden flip in moods, even more so after her sudden disappearance but every time he brought it up Violet would just casually remind him that holding onto the past would actually kill her. And that was that... so to speak... there was still those moments were Emmett would catch her eyes when she wasn't paying attention. When her eyes would open in the morning and she was still slightly drowsy... or those moments where she would laugh a little too hard and her eyes would open, it was there he took notice of her immediate shift because even if Violet was moving on she would never entirely do so until she saw her brother and the wolves. They were very much apart of her, like an extended limb and having that piece detached stuck her in a place where she couldn't get out of.
The brunette was just thankful Emmett loved her enough not to ask about it to much and instead let her actually live in the moment and catch up with the Cullen's activities. Like today for example, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen would be marrying tomorrow afternoon and for the last few months they had all been swarmed by wedding preparations, courtesy of the pixie like Alice Cullen. Violet swore she would never get married if it meant this much hell, Alice was a drill Sargent making sure everything was going to look like utter perfection.
Aside from the constant hassle and dress fitting along with the countless trips across the state planning a wedding actually gave the brunette some joy. She lived to see Bella flustered out of her mind and pleading for help from Alice's wrath, which is precisely why the Swan girl has asked her once mortal enemy for help with this task.
Technically it was suppose to be her bachelorette party but since Bella refused to have any strippers, or actual fun as Violet liked to refer to it, they had spent the night eating and learning how to walk in heels.
Bella looked up from where she had landed on her ass, staring at her tan counterpart with a dry expression. "You're suppose to be helping not judging."
"Well I fucking would if you could keep on your feet longer then 2 seconds. Jesus women, how are you not forced to wear a helmet everywhere." Violet retorted, slapping at Alice's hands when the short girl stabbed her accidentally with the pin. "Ow you bitch! That hurt!"
Alice scowled from her kneeling position, she was sewing the hem of Violets wedding dress. A high slit adorning the garment as she intended to make sure all the girls goodies were covered before someone got a peak and Emmett went all polar bear on them... or Violet would probably beat them. "I wouldn't have almost stabbed you if you would quite fidgeting or eating..."
Violet scoffed, crossing her arms as she too was beyond annoyed that they were spending the supposed bachelorette party this way. "The fact we are dressing like we are going to the awards is reason enough for me to be fidgeting. You know this dress will be off within two hours right?"
"Emmett and you would leave my wedding so soon," Bella retorted, helping herself up by holding onto one of the plush couches.
"No you perv! I'll probably change into a pair of jeans," Violet answered her with an eye roll. "And Bella, you don't even want to come to your own wedding."
Said bride huffed, leaning against the couch heavily. "You're right, and not if I have to wear heels. Alice, can I just go barefoot?"
"No!" Alice's golden eyes narrowed at the girl. Standing up as she finished finished her task, and crossing her arms. "Now do it again!"
Violet smirked as Bella groaned and attempted her best to walk once more.

Alice had finally given up, having been relentlessly harassed by Bella and Violet to let them relax she finally gave in and nodded. The girl were quick to go and change into a pair of pajamas before coming downstairs where Alice had already set out hoards of junk food and some horror movie was playing in the background while the pixie girl continued to make calls late into the night about the arrangements for the following day. Bella and Vi had attempted to help but were shut down with a cold glare that let the girls know they were not welcome.
"She's really going insane..." Bella murmured to Vi as they both sent cautious glances towards Alice who was never angry but it seemed like she was ripping at the seems today. It was slightly comical to watch if the girls were being honest.
"That's why I'm never getting married." Violet retorted, knowing the vampire could hear. A smirk lifted at her lips when she noticed Alice send her an eye roll and then both girls cackled when Alice flipped them off. "Maidzilla is so not what I'm looking forward to."
Bella nodded in response, her eyebrows creasing for a moment longer before she turned so her body was angled towards the hybrid. "So marriage? Really never?"
Violet noticed the way her tone had gone from humorous to serious, the pale girl fumbling around with her soft hands as she spoke. Eyeing her newest friend curiously. Violet set down the bottle of soda she had been drinking from, angling her own body towards Bella. "Honestly? I didn't even think I'd live this long to even think about that question."
"But you did." Bella countered, her brow eyes widening. She noticed how Violets went distant, like the question had just become very real, which it had. "So kids? Marriage? All of that, you don't want it?"
Violet pursed her lips, did she even want all of that? The American Dream hadn't ever caught her eye since she had turned, the whole white picket fence image was almost a joke to her. Things like that didn't happen to a girl like her, however now the circumstances had changed but had that changed her opinion on it?
"If I'm being honest," Violet exhaled, "no. I don't need it, I don't even think I want it. I mean marriage is one thing, I know I'll be with Emmett for the rest of my lives so I don't see why having it on paper would change that much but I'm not entirely opposed to the idea. As for the question of kids, I don't think I would ever want them and not just because of the situation we are in but kids have never been in my future. I just don't see myself doing it. I have Emmett who I love more then anything and I just don't want kids. If it ever happened then that's great but as for just wanting them now nope, never. I don't think I want kids and honestly Emmett doesn't seem to want them either. Besides being immortal isn't exactly great on fertilization."
Bella paused, soaking in the olive skinned girls words. Her face thoughtful as Vi answered, it seemed like the girl had her whole life figured out. Bella wished she could think like that but the thing for Vi was her whole life was already decided the moment she received the bite.
Violet surprised the human girl by gently clasping her palm over the pale girls. "Don't think about it to much okay... do what makes you happy and if no one supports you then to hell with them all!"
Bella laughed, nodding her head at the girl before clearing her throat, "I wanted to ask you something but I didn't know if you would even know the answer... have you heard anything from Jake?"
Violet cleared her throat, knowing that this was one of the taboo topics between them. Since the moment she had awoken into the afterlife she had been informed of her best friends departure. Of course no one else had informed the brunette of Jacobs declaration of love to her in those moments she was dying. Bella didn't understand why no one else would tell the girl but she supposed it was none of her business and besides, Violet was happy with Emmett, there was no need to change that. It wasn't like Bella was jealous, quite frankly she was amused at the fact Jake had teased her so long for being in love with two different people and all along he had been in the same position.
"The wolves aren't speaking to me still and last time I talked to Seth was about a week ago, he said Jake was somewhere in Canada. Alive but in freezing temperatures." Violet sighed, noticing how the girls face dipped slightly in emotion. She felt it as well, knowing that Jacob had left because of her.
"Why won't he come back." Bella spoke aloud, sinking into the couch.
"Because you didn't choose him... and I didn't die." Violet causally answered, having accepted the answer awhile back. Her hands shoving chips into her mouth.
"It was rhetorical." Bella sassed the girl back.
"Rhetorical or not it's the truth Bells, and we just have to deal with it." Violet answered before Alice was whisking them away to sleep.

A few hours later the patio door to the Cullens home was being opened silently. Alice was long gone, running some last minute errands in town nearby and Bella was in a deep slumber.
Meanwhile the hybrid girl was slipping out the back door and making her way into the trees.
Since her acceptance of her new life the girl had learned so much of her own life.
For one she too had achieved an ability much like the rest of her vampire family. Although... hers was much more astounding and dangerous which is why she kept it hidden away.
She walked into the forrest until a clearing came across her. The hybrid very rarely got a chance to be alone and of course she didn't mind it seeing as how spending time with Emmett was always amazing but she didn't get time to do what she wanted. Like for instance try out her new powers.
The first time she had ever thought about having powers was the day she had woken up, and Emmett had recounted to her how it had seemed like the very heavens were going to fall down around them. It had all cleared up the moment she had awoken and jokingly Emmett had commented that nature was just as pissed as he was that she was so close to death. She found it particularly peculiar, intriguing to think that but it had brushed over her head after that. And then came the day where she escaped her home and ran to Forks. She had remembered how all she wanted was a sunny day and the very next day it was so hot everyone was immediately astounded, especially when that very day it began raining once more.
A few weeks ago she had been thinking it over and after a day or so attempted to see if something would happen.
She had been outside, watching the scattered leaves across the gravel of the Cullens driveway, pondering wether what she could do was real and just how much capacity she had when the leaves suddenly started to swirl around her.
Suppressing the need to gasp and have every Cullen within a mile radius come running towards her and discover this she bit her lips and continued. It was of course terrible, she was barely able to keep the thing going before the leaves scattered.
Her head felt like it would explode, sweat droplets falling from her forehead at first before she slowly started to gain power over it. Now of course, she still didn't have much power but it was still better then before.
For instance she stood in the meadow, amongst small saplings of trees. Her eyes focused on one, hands tightening into balls of fists.
She sucked in a clean breath, narrowing her eyes and imagining the thing sprouting up into a glorious oak. It took patience, and lots of concentration but eventually the thing just sprung up.
It's branches spreading out and commanding attention until it stopped, beautiful and sturdy.
Violet smirked, maybe being a hybrid isn't all that bad.
"All hail the Hybrid Queen." The brunette spoke to no one as the power radiated around her body and she her eyes widened when catching site of everything else around her. The meadow had grown fresh flowers as well.
