VICTORIA JUSTICE AS RACHEL BLACK
"Some people who die and come back to life change, you on the other hand are still the same stubborn bitch."
Rachel Black directed the comment towards Violet, throwing a French fry for good measure at her head. Vi feigned offense, catching the French fry as it fell into her lap and dropping it straight into her mouth. Rachel was Jacobs older sister, she along with her twin sister had been away studying in Hawaii. While Rebecca had however found love and ultimately gotten hitched and also pregnant the youngest of the twins had stayed committed to her studies.
She'd come back a few weeks ago on a surprise visit, well the surprise was more for her then her family when Paul Lahote imprinted on her. Afterwards she'd firmly committed herself to the life of the supernatural and now knew everything courtesy of Violet Uley.
Rachel had been a close friend to Vi before she'd gone off to college, even after her breakup with Jacob they'd stayed in touch and now it seemed like their bond was never stronger.
Emily came into the room then, smacking Rachel playfully by the head. "No throwing food."
Vi laughed, slowly it died out however as she began to remember the past night. It'd been seventeen hours since she left the Cullen's home and in that time she spent the majority of it sleeping in her old bedroom. No one came to bother her throughout the late night, knowing her attitude.
It was Rachel though that burst through the front door much like her younger brother and confronted the girl with a bag of fast food and willful pushes.
They'd been sitting for approximately an hour on the front porch to the Uley home, talking while Emily cleaned the house and kept up. Emily plopped onto the nearest chair, grasping her own set of fries and immediately biting into them.
"So? Are you going back today?" Rachel questioned. Ever since joining into the other side of La Push and it's residents she'd been worried, more now with a war closing in on them. Anything was possible and now more then ever Violet needed to be in control.
Vi sighed loudly, "I don't know. I don't feel like dealing with it all."
"Well it's not like you have an option here, at any time those vampires will come and like it or not these could be your last days." Rachel bluntly stated.
"You're right." Vi sighed heavily, dropping into her chair and closing her eyes. "I hate being mad at him, I hate keeping secrets from him."
"How do you think he feels." Emily answered, swirling the side cup in her hand. "You two need to talk though, whoever this Rosalie is must have been in his past, nobody really discusses their exes."
A slow silence filled them, only the creaking of their chairs amongst the air as Vi kept her eyes on the trees.
"The packs here." She called out, hearing the rustle of their feet followed by an extensive mutter of words.
"Great, I've gotta check the pies before they finish dinner." Emily spoke, standing from her comfortable chair and stretching her arms. She didn't make a move towards the kitchen though, waiting as they all slowly started appear before brushing her hand against Vi's with her warm smile. "Hey, whatever you want to do Sam and I are always here."
Vi squeezed her best friends hand, suddenly reminded about how warm and comforting she felt in this house not long ago. Suddenly, moving away to Seattle to get away from all the pain Jacob had caused her sounded stupid because everyone who could help her was in that house.
The lack emerged from the house, some of the younger kids stopping to gawk at the hybrid. She rolled her eyes at them and waved them off, "before any of you ask; yes I can do what you've heard and no it is not worth trying to fight a vampire cause it hurts like a bitch."
Paul came up, shoving the younger kids out of the way who rustled into the house. His eyes immediately focused on a still eating Rachel and with a full mouth of French fries he kissed her salty lips and bit off the end of one still poking out. She giggled at him, swallowing the rest of them, "hey! Paul!"
The wolf grasped her waist and lifted her, switching positions so he fell on the chair and she on his lap before kissing the top of her shoulder. "I couldn't resist, hey babe."
Rachel narrowed her eyes at him but gave in, maneuvering her body until she found a comfortable position that faced Vi. The hand holding the French fries immediately offered some up to Paul as a smile graced her lips. They were so effortlessly perfect it was a wonder no one had guessed it before. The age difference didn't matter much to Paul considering her looked significantly older then the 19 year old boy he was supposed to be and somehow, in a matter of weeks, Rachel had turned him into a mature adult. His temper had decreased significantly since finding his place with her two, there was no random bursts into a wolf and he smiled more then ever. He was still the Paul Lahote all of them loved but with Rachel Black he seemed complete.
"So what are my two favorite girls gossiping about?" He questioned, looking between the pain and speaking with a mouth full of fries.
Jared walked up to the porch, taking a seat on the arm of Violets chair as he patted her hand. "He's lying Vi, he told Emily and Rachel the same thing yesterday."
"And don't you dare repeat that to Em, she might never feed me again." Paul retorted, wagging his finger at his best friend.
Jared laughed, as well as the rest of the group. "For the record Vi, you're one of my favorite girls which is why I'd like to kindly tell you how hurt I feel that it's taken this long for you to come back. What are we not cool enough?"
Vi laughed softly, shaking her head as she leaned into Jared, "i'm sorry! I really am, it's just been kind of insane... I'm here though and not just because I'm fighting with Emmett but I've missed everyone."
Jared furrowed his brows, "trouble in paradise? If Jacob hasn't kicked his ass I'm sure Paul and I can do it."
Paul nodded his head until Rachel narrowed her eyes at him, yanking the fries away with her dainty wrists and silencing him before he could join in. "There will be none of that and Jared I suggest you not try anything either or I'll call Kim. If you want to be of any help then you'd help me convince Vi to go back and try to speak with him, or at least help stop her from actually burning him to death."
"Oh I've got that!" Jared stood, clapping his hands together and turning towards the brunette who was looking at him with a raised brow.
"What in the fuck do you want Jared?" She complained, looking at his hand.
"You're gonna give us training, with your powers in full mode." He clarified, bouncing from foot to foot.
Vi clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth in displeasure, "would you like to die? Because I don't have full control over it, I could blow like a bomb and you'd be the first person I smacked in hell."
Jared rolled his eyes, "I would definitely not be in hell with you okay, maybe like outside because I can't get into heaven but definitely hell. Now you? You'd be in there for the summer when we were 15."
"What did she do when she was 15?" Sam appeared, stepping up to the porch and crossing his arms. His tone wasn't the typical alpha voice that demanded an answer but more of a fatherly one that sent just a twinge of prepubescent fear into each of the wolves hearts, hybrid included.
Violet decided to spring up from her seat, extending her arms towards her brother. She was significantly shorter then his talk from but even so that didn't seem to bother him as he held her. "Hey big bro how was the run? Missed you tons, Emily made a big lunch too so I would hurry along before it's all gone."
The boys snickered behind her, but were silenced by one threatening glance from her. Sam didn't seem that invested in what had happened, merely giving her a questionable look before sighing, "so how about that training? Could give us a chance to experience what fighting a vampire is like one on one, plus you do need to expand your powers."
She hummed, thinking it over before shrugging, "your funerals. I warn you now, I'm not at fault for any burns or being impaled by a huge icicle."
"You mean Jared right? Please mean Jared?" Paul was immediately serious as he stood along with an excited Jared.
Jared scoffed for a second before finding the smirk Violet was holding threatening and he swallowed. "You're playing around? Right V? You know I was playing about not being in hell with you right? RIGHT?"

"Alright," The hybrid had lined up all the wolves, having them follow her a little behind her brothers house until they were in a random clearing. It wasn't as big as the field they would actually be waiting for the Volturi by herselfbut it would do for what she had in mind today. The wolves were all eyeing her impatiently as she fumbled with her fingers, tiny flames danced around them the longer she thought of releasing the energy between them.
"Just do it already!" Quil yelled from the side, he was standing in front of Rachel and Emily who had wanted to witness this firsthand.
She snarled his way, silencing the boy as he lifted his hands and took a step away.
"Can you not just you know, turn into your ultimate super saiyan self?" Paul questioned, seeming to be loosing his excitement and interest at the situation.
"This isn't fucking anime," Vi sasses at him, narrowing her eyes as a flash of anger took over and suddenly her hands were burning up. She stopped from overheating with a deep breath and shutting her eyes, after a moment they opened back up and she was in control. "I have the potential to turn into a ball of fire or even worse a volcano and blow you all up."
"Sam, maybe Emily and Rachel shouldn't be here—or somebody bring a fire extinguisher for Christ sake!" Paul's eyes flashed towards his Alpha in quick intervals, panic rising in his voice.
"Vi's not gonna blow like that, she's got control." Sam said with reassurance, although by the way he spared a glance towards Quil, who seemed to push the girls back a little further into the protection of the forest.
"Thanks Sammy but I think you're overestimating my abilities," the hybrid swallowed thickly, shutting down her abilities and crossing her arms for insurance.
Sam sighed, shaking his head and walking over to his sister. He knew her better then a majority of the population and to him Violet Uley could do anything she set her mind too. He grabbed her palms, forcing them to drop by her side and then tapped her right in the middle of her forehead, gently pressing his finger as he spoke. "You're underestimating yourself Violet Odessa, there's no one on this earth who can take what you've taken and come out stronger. I need you to remember everything you've been through and the reason why you did those things because this may be the only reason we win against those red eyed bloodsuckers. Now, if you're worried about killing us maybe we don't play with fire just yet; how about something easier?"
"Oh yeah! Water!" Embry chimed in, nodding his head eagerly.
"I think that sounds safer," Sam agreed, looking down to his younger sister, who after a moment nodded her head.
"Alright, but there's not much you can do with water." She muttered in response, Sam stepped away and let the girl have some space. The rest of the wolves didn't get the message so she bluntly stated, "I'm gonna need all of you to move the fuck back."
The wolves muttered profanities underneath their breath but nonetheless follow her orders and stepped towards where there was only dirt, leaving Vi standing amongst dewy grass.
She looked down at the tiny droplets, almost sensing them like a small buzz climbing through her skin cells and right into her bone marrow until they were almost apart of her. The way it felt, like a never ending chorus caused her eyes to shut softly and almost become one with the water. She could feel it everywhere, in the humid air that she breathed and the right down to the one squished underneath the toes of her shoes, like cells of her body they vibrated with life.
She was completely in tuned to them, lifting her arms until the small drops began to rise out of grass and into the air, a million specks of water 5 feet high around her. She opened her eyes and found the pack staring at her outstretched hands in amazement, a gleeful smile breaking out into her mouth at her accomplishments.
"How are you doing that?" Rachel was the only one to speak up, the others to amazed, or some like Paul poking at the droplets.
Vi didn't move a muscle of her body, instead making her face in an obvious "I don't know manner" and answering, "I can feel them within me, it's like I become one with them."
"Can you do anything else?" Jared questioned, not removing his gaze from the floating water.
Vi shrugged her shoulders this time, debating wether anything good could happen. She moved her hands together but didn't let them touch, bringing the water together until it was a small pond high in the air.
"Can you turn it into ice?" Jacob's booming voice almost broke her concentration. He came out of the opposite end, accompanied by Seth who seemed dumbfounded.
"Ice?" She furrowed her brows, realizing what an intriguing idea that would be.
"Just try it." He shrugged back.
Violet thought it over, realizing it would be kind of extraordinary if she completed this feat. With the water flowing freely in what looked like a makeshift aquarium she huffed slowly and then threw it in the direction of the wolves. They all braced for impact, covering themselves but Violet tightened her fists together, freezing the small particles until they were a block of ice that dropped out of the air and smacked against the green grass. The ice broke apart and everyone was left in awe, except Vi who looked down at her hands in amazement.
"Holy shit," she cursed, looking up to Jacob with a bright smile. How the hell he guess to do that she would never know but if she could turn things like that she wanted to do more. "How the hell did you think to do that!"
"I didn't, it was Ben's idea." Jacob turned his head slightly and motioned forward, "it's okay. I promise she doesn't bite."
Benjamin stepped out, holding his mates hand as he looked cautiously around. His mate was quiet, keeping her eyes on her Benjamin.
"Jacob..." Sam slowly warned, walking towards his sister, he did it more so for the sake of the others then Vi. She had just stopped being so angry and anything that set her off would be lethal.
"It's fine Sam, he's cool and Vi you shouldn't be worried. Ben's not looking to make trouble." Jacob waved them off, walking forward.
She trusted Jacob with her own life, after everything they'd been through together how could she not but yet there was still this flame of doubt that couldn't be engulfed. There was a small point in her when she locked eyes with Benjamin, something that was so entranced she knew he felt it too and it rocked her senses because even though she knew Emmett was the only let that fit her locked heart she still wondered wether the prophecy was real.
As if Benjamin thought the same his hand tightened around Tia, and the small brunette grew closer her her look was never hostile. She smiled softly towards the hybrid, welcoming the women to officially meet her mate yet again.
"V?" Sam looked to his sister for confirmation, if she seemed not willing he would shut this whole thing down regardless of what Jacob thought.
"It's okay," she finally responded, breaking the eye contact and looking to her brother. A soft nod was all he needed to back away. Violet walked forward, taking slow steps as if to assure herself that she was making the right decision. Once they were close enough she realized that maybe it was best she started off. "I'm sorry about yesterday, I was overwhelmed and I guess I didn't put much thought into the idea you weren't into the prophecy either."
Benjamin smiled, friendly as ever he began to relax when he noticed she was just as nervous. His accent was pronounced as he spoke, "it's alright. I think we were both caught off guard, maybe it's better if we start again."
She nodded her head, "yeah, I can definitely do that. I'm Violet Uley and this is my pack, my brother, Sam, is the alpha."
She motioned towards Sam who nodded his head at the vampires.
Benjamin acknowledged all of the wolves with a head nod as well, his mate smiling at them. He turned back towards the brunette in front of him, "I'm Benjamin and this is my mate Tia, I don't believe in that stupid prophecy when I have her by my side."
Benjamin let go of Tia to wrap his arm around her, eyes almost sinking into pools of adoration as he looked down at his slim mate. She too looked up at him with happiness.
Violet felt her stomach tighten, chest contract at the action because she missed Emmett so much. In a sense he was her Tia, he wasn't as silent as Tia was but he stood by her side through anything. Violet smiled politely at Tia, attempting to keep her breathing stable.
"It's nice to meet you both, and thanks for that idea. I don't suppose you'd help me with control though, I can't seem to keep my hands from firing up." She questioned, looking down with relief.
"Well I have been doing this for some time." Ben nodded, letting go of his mate. Tia left his side, stepping next to Jacob who smiled at her and crossed his arms.
"Ben is awesome at this stuff Vi, you should see the tornado he made!" Jacob spoke with enthusiasm.
Violet found that despite the nickname Benjamin actually enjoyed being with Jacob. His small laughs every time Jacob said his name that way seemed to entertain him, still she couldn't help but make a dig.
"I apologize for my best friend here, he's kind of an annoying pest." She muttered.
Benjamin shrugged his shoulders, looking back at Tia who seemed to be enjoying herself. "No it's alright, Tia and I enjoy his company. It beats the silence we get from the covens at the Cullen's. At least he's got a little sarcasm."
"Well that he does." She hummed, turning her attention back to the task and looking at Benjamin. "So what do you want to get started with?"
"What's the problem for you?" He answered back.
"Fire, I can't seem to control it." She answered back with a head nod. Looking down at her hands, "actually all of it. I can't seem to keep it under control, especially when my emotions seem to go fucking crazy."
Benjamin seemed to understand, rubbing his hands together before fire began to dance across his fingertips. He moved his hands like a wave, keeping the fire at a minimum until finally it was gone in quick squeeze of his hand. Violet watched in awe, jaw almost dropping as the flames disappeared like nothing, it took her a great deal to even do things like that.
"I think you're attempting to focus to much because there are other things clouding your mind. Our powers seem to be on a much more cellular level and that must mean that we both feel good physically and mentally, considering we don't ever get sick or age I think we both know it's the latter for you Violet. I think you need to talk about your problems before we can actually start training you." Benjamin explained, making Violeta heart drop as she too felt like this was the reason for her failure. All the stress that had occurred to her in the past few days wasn't doing her any better, in fact, it was causing her to be more of a danger then anything else.
She sighed heavily, looking down to the ground, "Emmett."
Benjamin nodded, "yes, I think we both know what needs to happen."
Violet groaned, knowing that as much as she didn't want to face him just yet there was no putting it off. Their time was counting down and the longer she put off talking to him the less time she would have to gain control of her powers, plus she missed Emmett a lot.
She turned, looking at her best friend who seemed to nod his in agreement, it was time. The brunette walked forward, knowing that was the direction her feet needed to go in order to go back to the Cullen house. Jacob put a palm on her shoulder before she passed him, "not so fast."
She raised a brown, going to question him when from the bushes a very tall body began to come out. Violet narrowed her eyes at Jacob, knowing exactly what he was doing and when all he could was offer a very sheepish smile she reminded herself to hit him later. "You sneaky asshole."
"You're predictable," he muttered back with a shrug of his shoulders as she turned her attention back. "Anyways, he's been miserable and also really sorry."
Violet purses her lips, debating wether to call Jacob a matchmaking Cupid or not but she was interrupted of this thought when the polar bear himself walked up to her.
His face was just as handsome as ever, even as sullen and sorrowful as it appeared right now. If possible the honey colored to them had diluted significantly and the purple bags under his eyes weighed heavily. Violets heart lurched forward, knowing that her anger from the day before was now entirely gone and all she wanted to do was talk to him.
"Hi." He shyly spoke, squeezing his fists together, it didn't fit him, this soft spoken person was not Emmett Cullen she had fallen in love with and it pained her.
"Hey," she answered back a little warmer, showing him with one word that she was better then the day before. "I thought I said I'd come to you."
"You did," a small smile broke out into his lips, remembering her exact words but the temptation had been too much. Not having her droop to sleep in his arms was wrong now, the hours since she'd left had been eternal. Emmett didn't care if she threw a tree at him, he just wanted to see her face.
She sighed deeply, looking back to see everyone was being nosy, although they did their best to appear not too. Unintentionally she grabbed his hand and led them away, throwing a glance back to tell them not to follow. Sam seemed to refuse but Emily grasped his palm and shook her head.
They walked until the wolves would no longer be able to hear with their human ears before letting go and wrapping her arms around her torso, balancing on the balls of her feet. Emmett seemed uncomfortable as well, both staring at one another for a certain amount of time. "Where should we start?"
"How about me saying I'm sorry?" Emmett retorted, "I know finding about Rosalie just yesterday wasn't the right thing to do but I hadn't thought about her in a long time... and I'd almost forgotten her entirely since you'd come into my life Vi. We were together once—years ago but it's been over and yesterday I told her everything. Vi, I'm sorry for not telling you but you have to believe me when I say I don't need or want anyone else but you."
Although the sound of the blondes name slightly pissed her off still it was more so a form of jealousy for her then anything, Rosalie was gorgeous that much was apparent and before it seemed that she'd left Emmett broke hearted. It seemed like she had nothing to worry about all along because Emmett meant each and every single word. She smiled, nodding her head. "I guess I can't blame you for that one, but are you sure there aren't any more exes I have to worry about? I'd like to be fully prepared in case they come back."
Emmett shook his head, grasping her hand and pulling her closer. He kissed the top of her head, her nose, cheeks and then pecked her lips before hugging her tightly. Her warm smell reminded him of everything good in his life, and everything he would ever leave.
Violet pushed back slightly, far enough so she could stare at his face and place her hands on his cheeks. She licked her lips and knew it was also time for her to apologize, "I'm sorry for not telling you about the prophecy and what Stone said, I just didn't know how to say it honestly. I didn't want you to think that anything was going to happen to us."
"It's okay darling," he spoke softly, smiling. "I talked to Benjamin, he loves Tia too much for all that prophecy crap and I can't say I don't feel the same way about you. Stone's also come around to not being so paranoid."
"I'm glad we got through that, I missed you a fucking lot polar bear." Vi said happily, melting into his embrace.
"I don't think there's words to say how much I missed you darling but I think we should save this for later. We've got company to attend too." He squeezed her once more before pulling away and placing his arm on her waist.
"Right," she sighed, staring at the thick trees they'd walked too. Their heartbeats were so loud she almost wanted to roll her eyes at how idiotic they were. "Come out of there, you're gonna catch some poison ivy."
Rachel felt out first, followed by her brother Jacob and even Emily who seemed embarrassed. Jacob was the first to speak, pointing his finger in his older sisters direction who swatted at him, "Rachel thought this was a good idea."
"You were always a fucking tattletale Jacob," the human brunette huffed, smacking at his arm when she couldn't reach the top of his head. Rachel gave up after a moment and turned towards the couple, shrugging her shoulders, "alright so I'm nosy, what's new there? I couldn't wait for an introduction and also to warn you that just because I'm human does not mean my abilities are limited, Vi learned her ways from me!"
Emmett wanted to laugh, looking down to Vi who nodded. "She's not lying there, Emmett this is my old baby sitter and one of my best friends Rachel Black as well as Emily Young my sister in law. Girls, this is my polar bear."

It took me sooo long to write this I'm so sorry I had this 75% of this finished for months but I couldn't find the inspiration to write it. Anyways, this probably has about 4 chapters left so I'm a little sad Violets story is coming to an end but hopefully I write a spinoff for the Vimet children!
