Phase 1: Erwin và Levi trùng sinh trong thế giới Detective Conan (9)
Let's see Levi assist Conan to chase Kid, but like always, they don't truly capture him.
Title: The Chase of Shadows
It was a quiet evening in Beika City when news broke that Kaito Kid had announced his next target—a rare sapphire known as "The Moon's Tear." The jewel was currently on display at the Beika Art Museum, and the police were on high alert, preparing for the infamous thief's inevitable arrival.
Levi had no interest in jewels or flashy theatrics, but when Conan approached him for help, he couldn't say no-though he'd never admit it, the kid had earned his grudging respect.
"He always escapes," Conan explained, his tone determined. "But this time, with your help, Levi-sensei, I think we can corner him."
Levi shrugged. "Tch. If this 'Kid' guy's as good as they say, don't get your hopes up. But fine, I'll play along."
The Setup
At the museum, Inspector Nakamori's team had the place locked down. Levi, standing in the shadows, observed the scene with his sharp eyes. Conan and Erwin joined him, each bringing their own unique insights to the plan.
"Kaito Kid thrives on misdirection," Conan said. "We'll need to think ahead of him."
Erwin nodded, his thoughtful expression calm as always. "It's about anticipating his moves, not just reacting to them. Levi, your instincts will be critical."
Levi scowled. "You've got one shot, kid. Don't waste it."
The Heist Begins
As midnight struck, the lights in the museum flickered, and a cloud of smoke filled the main hall. A familiar voice echoed through the chaos: "Ladies and gentlemen, the Moon's Tear is now mine! Thank you for your cooperation!"
Levi wasted no time. While the police scrambled in confusion, he moved with precision, cutting through the smoke to pursue Kid. Conan, meanwhile, analyzed the thief's movements, guiding Levi through his watch.
"He's heading for the west wing!" Conan called out through his earpiece.
Levi smirked faintly. "Not for long."
The Confrontation
Levi cornered Kid on the rooftop, his blade drawn and his expression cold as ice. "End of the line, showman."
Kid, balancing on the edge of the roof, tipped his hat with a grin. "Ah, Levi-sensei. I've heard about you. Sharp as your blades, they say."
"Drop the act," Levi said flatly. "Hand over the jewel."
Kid chuckled. "A tempting offer, but I think not. After all, where's the fun in that?"
As Kid prepared to leap into the night with his glider, Levi lunged, catching the thief off guard. The jewel slipped from Kid's hand, tumbling into the air, only to be caught by Conan, who had just arrived on the scene.
"I've got it!" Conan shouted, triumph lighting up his face.
The Great Escape
Despite their best efforts, Kid wasn't so easily caught. With a flourish, he deployed a backup smoke bomb, disappearing into the night as the police arrived moments too late. Levi sheathed his blade, scowling. "Tch. Show-off."
Inspector Nakamori stormed onto the rooftop, fuming. "Not again! He's always one step ahead!"
Conan sighed. "At least we got the jewel back. That's what matters."
Erwin, who had been coordinating from below, joined the group. "Kid thrives on theatrics, but even he knows when to retreat. You both did well."
Levi crossed his arms. "Don't get used to it, Smith. Next time, I'm catching that clown."
The Aftermath
As the group walked away from the scene, Conan couldn't help but smirk. "You almost had him, Levi-sensei. Maybe next time."
Levi shot him a glare. "Next time, I won't play nice."
Meanwhile, high above the city, Kaito Kid sat on a ledge, watching the police cars scatter below. He held up a note he'd left in the museum, smiling to himself: "To Levi Ackerman and Conan Edogawa—until we meet again. Yours truly, Kaito Kid."
