I was in dire need to move out of my parents house, so I took my search for a roommate to a website called Craigslist. Yes, it was very sketchy. I could have easily met a murderer a wound up dead, but I was very careful with my selection process. I made sure to meet up with each of the candidates before any final plans were made. There was no way I was going to move in with someone who was creepy, had strange habits, or was just generally annoying.

After a meetup with the four candidates, only two remained. Erwin and Mikasa made it to the final round. The other two, Jean and Connie seemed either too weird and loud, or super creepy.

Mikasa and I scheduled another meet up for this Saturday, and Erwins was scheduled for Sunday. Dont get me wrong, Mikasa was a nice girl, but she was rather quiet and I want to be able to talk to my roommate without having to force a conversation out of them. Erwin was plenty talkative, and honestly, I was leaning more towards him being my roommate.

*three months later*

I had come the the decision of Erwin being my roommate. Mikasa took it well and understood. Weve still been in contact since when we first met and weve hung out with all of our friends. I was glad that I was able to make some friends out of this experience.

Erwin and I got along perfectly, we even became really good friends. We respected each other's space and belongings and I think that was the key to our happiness in our apartment. We came to the decision to get a higher end apartment because we both had decent enough jobs that we were able to pay for it. It wasnt big, but it also wasnt small. The apartment had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, plenty of closet space for each of us, and an office room that could be converted into a small bedroom if needed. I was in love with our place.

Today I came home from work at around noon. I worked strange and random hours most of the time, but because of that the money for it was great.

I unlocked our apartment door to see Erwin in the living room with his eyes closed, earbuds in, and he was singing and dancing. I couldnt help but bite my lip to hold back my laughter. My tall, muscular roommate was spinning around singing only what I could assume to be Dancing Queen by Abba. Slowly, I took my phone out from my pocket and began to record the masterpiece that was happening in front of me.

Erwin, Im home! I say and he stops dead in his tracks. He looked traumatized.

His eyes went wide and his face went flush. Uh, um, (F-f/N), this isnt what you think it is. I was just, uh, cleaning he paused for a moment, unsure of himself, yeah! Cleaning. An unsure smile spread across his face.

Stopping the recording, I put my phone away and broke down laughing. I fell to the ground clutching my stomach, dying of laughter.

Thats not funny. Erwin pouted. I crawled to my knees, still clutching my stomach and crawled my way over to him.

Im sorry. Im sorry. I just- I just, I broke out in a fit out laughter again just at the thought of seeing Erwin dancing around without a care in the world. He knew that I was on my way home, I had texted him. Weather he saw it or not, I dont know, Ill delete the video if you want, but you looked hecking awesome in it.

Erwin shook his head, you dont have to do that. I trust you, but lets just keep this between us.

No problem. You looked like you were having fun though.

Please, Im embarrassed enough, just drop it. He begged.

I nodded my head. Im going to make a stir-fry for lunch. You want some? I asked curiously. He nodded his head followed by a growl coming from his stomach.

I made my way to the kitchen and began to prepare all of the vegetables. I finely chopped the carrots, cut the bell peppers into thin strips, cut broccoli up, threw in some fresh peas and baby corn. First in the skillet was the beef. It was nice and brown when I put the vegetables in with it. I spread around a few spices and squirted in a bit of lime juice. The vegetables steamed in the skillet for a few minutes until it was ready to be served. Quickly, I started cooking rice in another pan filled with water. I grabbed two bowls out of a cabinet and filled them both with rice and the stir-fry.

Erwin, its done! I shouted loud enough for him to hear.

Within a few seconds he appeared behind me. Mmm. It smells delicious, (F/N). Thank you so much.

A devilish smirk appeared on my face. No problem. You must have worked up an appetite after all that intense dancing. He shot a glare my way, but I still kept the smirk on my face. Sometimes I was too much of a smartass for my own damn good. Luckily for me Erwin was a sport and tolerated me.

With his mouth full he asked, do you have to go back to work tonight? He continued to shovel his food into his mouth.

As far as I know, no. Why?

Movie night? Unless you have plans with your friends.

I smiled. Hell yeah I want a movie night. What genera?

He made eye contact with me and I knew exactly which genera he was thinking of. Just the usual. Horror.

My body involuntarily tensed up. I loved horror movies, but at the same time they gave me the worst of nightmares. Erwin knew this, but he still suggested them for movie night. Maybe he continued to because I never said no to them, or maybe he did it because he liked to see me squirm uncomfortably in my seat. A part of me thought he did it to see me suffer, but he was such a nice guy that it wasnt very realistic.

Mhm. Sure, but only if you order pizza for us. I suggested. He nodded his head confirming that he agreed with my deal.

After lunch I went into our office area to do some work on my computer to pass the time. I got distracted by my group chat.

ME: Guys, Im trying to work. Stahp.

EREN: NOOOOOO Youre not allowed to work. Pay attention to us

CONNIE: PAY ATTENTION (F/N)

SASHA: Yessss Please Pay Attention To Us!

ME: Sasha, you know that I hate it when you guys type like that

MIKASA: We have her attention, guys!

ME: *sigh*

JEAN: So are you hanging out with us tonight?????? Youre hanging out with us. TOo DamN LaTE

MARCO: Jean, dont be so persistent. Shes a young lady with a life.

ARMIN: I apologise for their behavior, (F/N)

ME: Actually it's movie night. Erwin and I are staying in, ordering pizza, and watching a scary movie

EREN: WITHOUT US?!!!!!

JEAN: Yeah, wtf (F/N)!

ME: Sorry losers. But here is a video of Erwin that I happened to get when I came home from work.

I set my phone down and tried to ignore all the rapid messages being sent to the group chat because I had to make schedules for all of my coworkers and they were due by the end of the night. Normally they didnt take long to make, but when I got distracted theyd take much longer than they ever should to make.

A sigh escaped past my lips as I rested my head in my hands. Suddenly my phone rang, causing me to jump. I answered it quickly once I saw that it was work calling.

Hello?

Hey, (F/N). Um, we had a problem with Ste- I mean someone here. Maybe you know who. They happened to have a breakdown and now were super short staffed. Kali had to take them to the hospital and Jerry went with them. We were wondering if you could possibly come in for a few hours.

I thought about it. Id be getting overtime pay, but then Id have to cancel on Erwin because I knew that those few hours would be at least six or seven hours worth of work. Actually I have an appointment that I have to head out for. Can you call and ask Hanji? If she goes in for me, Ill owe her. This appointment is just something I cant miss and I dont know how long its going to take.

Yeah I can call and ask her. Thank you so much (F/N).

Mhm. No problem. Thanks, Jeff. I hung up the phone and leaned back in my chair.

Someone cleared their throat and I turned towards them. You have an appointment? Erwin asked.

I smiled and shook my head. No. I just didnt want to cancel movie night. There was no way I was going back to work today.

Erwin smiled at me and he rubbed the back of his neck. Thanks. It means a lot to me that youd say no to extra money just to watch a movie with me.

We are friends, right? We do need to hang out at times. Its important that we spend time together. And honestly, Im so done with work After I get these work schedules done. He chuckled at what I said and turned on his heel to let me go back to my work.

Before I knew it, it was already 6:30 pm. I had no idea where all that time went. I made my way out of the office when I could smell the wonderful smell of my favorite food: pizza. Yes that pizza made my heart flutter the moment it came through our apartment door. I ran up to the pizza that was sitting so pretty on the counter in its box and hugged it. I set it back down and plopped two pieces on a paper plate. I knew that I was going to be back for more, especially since food usually distracted me enough while watching scary movies.

I plopped down on the couch and cuddle up with a blanket. Soon Erwin comes and joins me, but just before he sits down, I stop him. Wait. I forgot to grab a (favorite soda)! Can you grab me one please? I pushed out my bottom lip and batted my eyelashes. All he did was nod and turn around to grab me my soda. Once he handed it to me I thanked him with a giant smile.

Erwin began to prepare the movie. I tried to not pay attention to the movie that he was picking, but I happened to look up and saw that he chose the new It movie. I had hated the original, not as in its horrible so I hate it, but that it scared me into hating clowns and sewers. To make it worse, my parents always teased me about it. Whenever wed walk by a sewer they would stop to look in it and make a comment about the clown named Pennywise. Of course over the years I realised that my fear was irrational and I got over it, but I feared that rewatching the newer version of the movie would set that fear back into place.

As the movie began it didnt seem too bad, but it wasnt too long until it got into the jump scares and the horrifying graphics. I cuddled into my blankets and hid my face while also stuffing it with the pizza that I had grabbed. I could hear Erwin chuckle at me, but I tried not to pay attention to him.

Two hours later and I was retraumatized. It had broken me back down, my old fear of clowns had rooted itself deep into my brain again.

Im going to bed. Goodnight. I said coldly as I turned on every possible light on my way to my bedroom.

Aw, already? Goodnight.

I finally reached my bedroom and decided to use the bathroom, so I took out my phone and used my flashlight to light up the bathroom attached to my room before I was able to reach the light switch. There was no way that I was going to trust the dark after that movie.

After I was done in the bathroom I changed into my pajama shorts and a t-shirt. I ran to the light switch, quickly turned it off, then sprinted into my bed. I fumbled for my phone charger and pluged it in before I threw the blankets over my head. After some tossing and turning, I finally dozed off.

I was running as fast as my legs could possibly carry me. Turn after turn he stilled followed me. Whenever I thought I lost him, hed be right on my heels once again. There was no way that I could lose him. He seemed to know my every single move way before I even did. I wanted to break down and give up and cry, but I couldnt. Something inside of me kept telling me to push myself, so I did.

Eventually I ran into a house that had its door open, but that was a mistake because right in front of me was that damn clown. I wanted to scream and cry, but instead I turned around and found myself running down a long hallway with a door at the end of it. It seemed like I was never going to reach that door, but I finally did. I swung the door open and I began to fall into what seemed to be an endless pit of nothingness.

After a minute of falling, I finally landed on a giant pile of things. I began to tumble way down to the sewer floor, splashing in a giant, gross sewage puddle.

I stood up, now soaked in literal piss and shit and waddled sorely away from where I fell. Before I knew it, I was tackled to the ground. The clown was on top of me, shapeshifting into an ever more horrifying form than before. His jaw began to open wider and wider until I couldnt see anything but mouth anymore.

I jolted awake in a cold sweat. After some tossing and turning I couldnt get back to sleep. I tiptoed my way into the kitchen to get a glass of water.

After some thinking I made my to Erwins room. I poked my head in his room to see if he was still awake. I glanced at his alarm clock and it read 12:16. Erwin was sitting on his bed, so I opened his door a little bit more, gaining his attention. I offered him a weak smiled, which he returned.

Hey, Im sorry. This is weird, but I had a nightmare and I cant get back to sleep. I crossed my arms over my chest and rubbed them sheepishly while trying not to look Erwin in the eyes. I wanted him to comfort me, but also I didnt want him to. It was a fight within myself of whether I wanted to get close to him or not.

Erwin simply patted a spot next to him on the bed and I shyly sulked over to him and sat down. He engulfed me in a hug and whispered to me, you dont have to be shy. Im here for you anytime you need me. I hugged him back and thanked him quietly. I was happy that I had picked him to be my roommate. He was so understanding of everything and was always supportive of me.

I scooted down to lay down on the bed and he followed my actions, wrapping his arms around my waist. I had tensed up at the sudden feeling, but I eventually relaxed into it because of the warmth radiating from his body. My body flipped around so I was facing his chest. I closed my eyes, trying to fall back to sleep. Erwin light placed his head on top of my, planting a small kiss on my head. My eyes shot wide open and my face turned beat red. After the initial shock, my eyelids began to get heavy again so I caved in and let slumber take over my body.

Around 11:00 am was when I was woken up by Erwin stirring in bed. He was trying to crawl over me without waking me up, but that didnt work. I was staring at the man who was now basically straddling me. Well good morning to you too. I said with squinted eyes and a genuine morning smile.

Uh, hey. Sorry. I wasnt trying to wake you up. Erwin was flustered and I thought it was cute.

I sat up and kept the blanket close to me. It was so warm and I was still tired. Mmm its fine. Where are you off to?

To get ready for work. I have to leave soon, he looked at the clock to see exactly how much time he had to spare, shouldnt you have left by now?

My eyes were wide and my head snapped to his alarm clock. It was already past eleven in the afternoon. I was supposed to be at work two hours ago. Normally I had my phone set to go off, but since my phone was in my room, I never heard it go off. Fuck my life, I sighed, well I guess Im staying home today. Just like you. I tugged on his sleeve and pulled him back into bed beside me. I wrapped my arms around him in attempt to trap him. Of course he was stronger than me, but he didnt try too hard to escape my grip.

Guess what. He smirked.

Hm?

It's saturday. We dont have work. I pouted and pushed myself away from his warm body. I got worried for nothing at all. He was such a butt.

Dont be a butt! You made me worry that I was actually late for work!

He chuckled, Im sorry, but it was too perfect of an opportunity to pass up, He looked at me with pouty eyes, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.

I turned away from him so he was looking at my back. I turned my head and stuck my tongue out. No I dont forgive you. Ill never forgive you, meanie.

Erwin tried his hardest to try and turn me over, but nothing worked, that was until he tried to tickle me. I gave in, facing him but I tried to look tough. Will you forgive me if I do this? He used his pointer finger to lift my chin slightly so Id look him in the eyes. He leaned in and lightly pressed his lips against mine. Am I forgiven now?

A light blush spread across my cheeks. Hmmm. I dont know. Maybe if you make me some leftover pizza?

Do you want it warmed up or cold?

Cold please.

Erwin nodded his head and crawled back over to me make his way to the kitchen. I watched him as he left. The way he walked was great. I liked watching him leave because he had a really nice butt.

After a few minutes Erwin returned with our pizza. We sat together on his bed and ate out leftover food.

You know, he started with his mouth full of pizza, I could feel you undressing me with your eyes.

I shook my head. No. I was just watching that fine ass walk away from me. I said with a smirk.

Well this fine ass is going to stay right here as long as you do.

I leaned onto Erwins shoulder and closed my eyes for a moment. Thank you for making me feel safe last night. And just thank you for dealing with me. Im glad were roommates.

Just roommates?! Ouch, (F/N). Ouch. He placed a hand over his heart as if what I said had hurt him. I nudged him in the ribs with my elbow.

Fine. Im glad that youre my boyfriend person thingy. Better?

He hummed and nodded. Yeah, Ill take that over just roommates. Although I couldnt see it, there was a giant smile on his face and he was looking down at me lovingly like no one has done before.
