Thoughts and Voices (Breaker)

Now, it's the--male--ravennete's turn.

This one is inspired, slightly, by the song,
'Read All About It'
But mostly on the song I'll mention later

Brat wipes the remaining tears off her face, the gentle smile still on her lips. "S-sorry." She mumbles, looking away. A blush colouring her cheeks. Breaker couldn't help but to giggle softly. "Alright, now you tell me what happen with your brothers." The blonde says, pointing to the male--causing the ravennete to flinch involuntarily. "O-oh! R-right!" He yelps. Interwines his fingers, the male fidgets nervously. "You don't wanna talk, you don't have to. Thus story is for you, and only you to tell." Brat says gently, smilling.

"..." The ravennete looks up, exhaling. "I...just don't k-know what to s-say..." The male whimpers. Brat smirks. "Heh, yeah. I can see that." The blonde chuckles. The boy lightly glares at her, pouting as a blush creeps across his face. "Well, you obviously have trouble expressing yourself, saying what you think, e.c.t. So, how you tell me why?" The girl questions curiously. The ravennete looks at her, pondering. Then he closes his eyes, taking a deep breath.

"Well..." He starts, swallowing thickly. "I...don't want to seem selfish." He admits. Brat shoots him a dubious look. "What I mean is..." He starts to explain. "Well, I don't wanna ruin things. If they planed something, then why should I intervene? I should just go with it...right?" He says, unsure. Brat looks at the starry night sky, muling over what he said. "Well, Berserk goes with the flow too. Except if she doesn't like it, or doesn't want to; she'll just say it. No use beating around the bush." The blonde shrugs.

"B-but...won't that make everyone angry?" Breaker mumbles. The blonde taps her head. "Sure." She replies curtly. Before the ravenette could react, the girl raises a hand. "But! In my family, all opinion matters. I don't know about everyone else's though." She elaborates. "Even if only one person objects, their opinion will be considered. Every person, every voice, matters." She sighs.
"Hmm, can I say something else?" The blonde inquires cheekily. "You...just like the sound of your own voice, don't you?" Breaker answers, shaking his head in amusement. "Aah, you know me well." Brat laughs, grinning.

"Anyways, let's say..." Brat interwines her fingers as she thinks intently. "There's this place you want to go to--umm, like the museum!--but your brothers want to go to...the beach! Just an example. Ouh, I'm terrible at this..." The blonde mumbles the last part, in a voice almost quieter than the male's. She claps her hands once and shakes her head. "Anyways, basically, you want to go someplace, your brothers don't--in fact, they want to go somewhere you don't want to. What do you do?" Brat observes the boy expectantly, blue eyes gleaming with the stars.

Breaker blushes, then looks away. "Umm, j-just go w-with it...?" The male says uncertainly. The blonde gazes at him for a moment, before sighing. "Why am I not surprised?" She mutters, shaking her head. "So, even if you don't want to go, you'd still do it?" She asks dubiously, raising a brow. The ravennete widens his eyes, then looks away. Nervously playing with his fingers, he replies "Well, since they want to...I don't want to ruin their fun."
The blonde blinks at him. After a moment, she let's out a labored exhale. The girl rubs her temples. The male's eyes sadden, and his gaze shifts to the starry sky above.

"Are you gonna cry?" Brat says suddenly. Her voice was neither reassuring, nor mocking. The male lowers his head, then shakes it. "N-no..." He mutters, forcing a smile. When he turnes around, he lets out a surprised yelp. Brat was literally inches away, causing the male's face to flush vermillion. Slowly, the blonde reaches out a hand. Ever so gently, the girl wipes away the tears.
"Riiight...and I suppose these are just raindrops?" She smirks. Breaker looks away, flushing.

"Sorry." Brat mutters, backing away. "I wonder though, why do you just go with it? Everyone wants something; whether big or small, short-term or long-term. What do you want?" She asks. Breaker closes his dark emerald eyes, as memory plays in his head.

Flashback--10 years ago....

A small ravennete frowns as he heard the teacher's explanation. As that was their last year before primary school, one of his classmates had suggested throwing a small celebration party. Of course, he had no qualms about that; he did, however, not agree with the plan.

Someone had suggested doing it at the beach, lots of the kids cheered--agreeing. Shou fidgets in his seat, he couldn't swim. Should he say something? The teachers did always say to never be shy about asking questions; even if this isn't technically a question.

Slowly, the green-eyed male raised his hand. "Yes, Shou-kun?" His teacher, Ms. Quin, inquired kindly. The male swallowed thickly, before standing up. "I-I ca-can't swi-m..." He mumbles. The teacher's brow furrowed. "Hmm, that is concerning..." She nods.

"Ooh, teacher! Teacher!" A voice piped up. It was the same kid who proposed the celebration. The child waved their arms wildly, to get Ms. Quin's attention. "How about the theme park instead?" They asked curiously. Everyone stared expectedly at Shou. The ravennete noded slowly. "As long as w-we don't h-have to g-o to the h-haunted hou-house..." He mutters.

Some of the 6-year-olds groaned; they lik--no, they LOVED the haunted house. It was arguably the best attraction there! The ghosts, monsters, creepy-crawlies looked frighteningly real. When it came to horror and gore--and all in between--no place does it better than Viletown. (Unfortunely, it also means that all their 'kid-friendly' stuff are extremely...disappointingly lame)

"Children, I'll make some delicious sandwiches for everyone. What do you want?" Ms. Quin cooed sweetly. "PB and J!" The entire class shouted enthusiastically--except a certain ravennete. "..." He looked down, rubbing his arm. Should he say something more? His class was already annoyed with him, not going to the beach; plus, not even the haunted house! He didn't want to make them more irritated.

"Shou, dear. Are you okay with that?" The woman askes gently. "I'm a-allergic to peanuts..." He whispered. "That's okay." Ms. Quin affectionately pet his head. "I'll just make you a special, yummy jam sandwich. Okay?" She said. The ravennete noded in gratitude. Still, he could feel the angry and jealous looks thrown his way.

After school...

Shou sat on a stone bench as he waited for his brothers. Shirou was probably discussing something with the teacher, or maybe just reading a book. Hibiki was playing soccer with some of his friends, maybe. Shou's not eeally sure.

"Hey, look it's the party-pooper!" A pitched voice exclaimed. The ravennete flinched before turning his head. His large eyes staring fearfully at the approaching kids. Leading the small group was no other than the same child who suggested going to the beach. (The kids who suggested a party and the one that suggested going to the beach aren't the same btw.) The child was nicknamed, Big Mike--cause that's his favourite food in the world. And the Big in his name, is not at all an exaggeration.

"Wh-what do y-you wa-nt...?" The male's lips quivered in fear. The big boy smirked. "It's your fault, you know!" He shouted accusingly. One of the other kids, snickered. "Yeah! You just had to open that big mouth of yours!" He yelled. One of the girls nod in agreement. "Next time, just keep quiet!" She shrieked. One of the other kid laughed. "No wonder he doesn't have friends!" The child said, chuckling. Another girl smirked. "I feel sorry for Hibiki and Shirou; They have a really bad brother!" The female sighed, shaking her head.
"See? No one wants to hear you! So do us all a favor, and just shut up!" The group shouted, glowering. The ravennete felt his throat going dry, his eyes widening.

With a final glare, the group walked off--mocking and saying all sorts of mean things to the small male.

Shou placed a hand over his chest, suddenly breathing was so hard. He tried looking around, but that just made it worse. The world seemed to spin around him, trees seemed to mix with sky until they seem like just some green blobs with a bit of brown. But, the worst part? He felt as if there were voices laughing and shouting at him. They sounded kinda like that group but what they said was different. Not that what the voices said was any less hurtful.

"Hey, look it's party-pooper!"
"It's all your fault!"
"You just had to open your mouth, huh?"
"Just keep quiet!"
"He doesn't have friends!"
"I feel sorry for them; they have a terrible brother!"
"No one wants to hear you!"
"Just shut up!"

The words repeated in his head, like some sort of chant. But two of those phrases, Shou will never forget. Those words seemed to be imprinted in his memory. He felt like someone was pratically shrieking those words.

"NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR YOU!!"
"JUST. SHUT. UP!!!"

______________

Present time...

Shou felt someone grabbing his shoulders and shaking him. The ravennete blinks, slowly snapping back to reality. Brat was staring right back at him, eyes wide in concern. "Hey, are you alright?" She questions. The ravennete tries to smile, but it fails horribly. The blonde smiles as warmly as she can. "Calm down, breath..." She conjoles, stroking the male's black locks. Breaker took deep, labored breaths. Tear streaming down his cheeks. "I k-keep th-inking ab-bout what I d-did...what I s-said! It's a-all my fa-ault!" The ravennete wails.

Brat looks at the male, worry eating at her like a worm. Then, an idea struck her. (She is SO blaming Berserk for getting her into the show)

"Here comes a thought..."

The blonde starts to sing, her melodic voice beautiful and serene. Breaker looks at the blonde, his eyes widening.

"That might alarm you...
What someone said
And how it harmed you...
Something you did
That failed to be charming...
Things that you said, are
Suddenly swarming, and oh

You're losing sight...
You're losing touch...

All these little things seem
To matter so much

That they confuse you...
That I might lose you..."

The female gently caresses the male's cheek, before cupping it as she wiped the tears with her thumb. Breaker sighs, leaning into her touch and closing his watery eyes. The blonde smiles, ever so sweetly. She continues her soft melody. She uses her other hand to gently hold the ravennete's hand. Her fingers gingerly resting on his pulse.

"Take a moment, remind yourself...to
Take a moment and find yourself
Take a moment to ask yourself...if
This is how we fall apart?"

Breaker slowly opens his green eyes, causing more tears to drop. But, the blonde just smiles soothingly. She let's go of the ravennete's face. Then using both her hands, she clasps their hands together. Her eyes gleaming with the stars, her smile soothingly soft.

"But it's not, but it's not, but it's not, but it's not, but it's not...
It's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay....
You've got nothing, got nothing, got nothing, got nothing to fear...
I'm here, I'm here, I'm here..."

She releases one hand to place over her heart, gazing at the smaller male earnestly. "I wanna show you something." She whispers. Then, her spear materializes. But, the size was much smaller--making it look like some sort of pen. Breaker blinks at her, curious. She deftly moves the 'pen' to draw a peculiar formation.

Suddenly, mutitudes of ice butterflies appear. Their transparent wings glimering with the moonlight, as they flutter around. The male smiles excitedly, watching the small creatures. Brat cups the male's hand. Almost immediately, two small ice butterflies flew and rested in their palms. They both grin. After a moment, the two small creatures flew away. The two humans look up as the creatures slowly seem to disappear.

"And it was just a thought, just a thought, just a thought, just a thought, just a thought...
It's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay...
We can watch, we can watch, we can watch, we can watch them go by...
From here, from here, from here..."

The two silently watch as the ice creature disappears into the distance. As they all seem to have vanished, Breaker looks at the Ice Princess herself, bashfully. The ravennete then places a hand over his chest. Taking deep breaths, he smiles at the blonde, grateful. He nods, agreeing with her. Brat smiles, and looks up at the starry night sky. Then her royal blue eyes shifts to look at the male. She wipes away the rest of his tears, a fond smile on her smile. As she softly finished her song.

"Take a moment to think of just,
Flexibility, love and trust...
Take a moment to think of just,
Flexibility, love and trust..."

Breaker smiles and hugs the blonde tightly...
