Chapter 12: His Best Friend

Ilene and Taehyung arrived together at the mansion. But the staff only greeted him which made Taehyung frustrated. But he thought there was nothing they could do about it because of their boss. He would let it slide, after all, he doesn't have any idea how Jungkook treated them.

"I think Gyu was hungry, don't you think we should make food for him?" Taehyung suggested with a smile, it's neither genuine nor forceful.

"I-I'll just buy something for him," Ilene forced a smile.

"Why, though? I've checked the fridge before and I saw it was full. I think there are enough ingredients for you to make a dish for your son. It was unnecessary for you to go out and buy something for him. It would be just a waste of your money." Taehyung commented.

"Well, ahm, Gyu could be a picky eater, that's why he prefers something I bought for him." Ilene lied.

"Then, we could make the same thing that we ate yesterday, I don't think he would dislike them, right? He literally gobbled them up, and seemed to enjoy it as well." Taehyung chuckled.

It was a brief moment, but he saw her glance at Sarah before Ilene responded to her.

"Okay, fine," Ilene forced a smile.

Jimin finally arrived in Seoul. It was not his first time, but it always felt like it was. He was thinking of contacting Taehyung, but when he attempted to do that before he even arrived, he didn't receive any response from him. That's why he made sure to do something to go to Seoul as he could.

He was glad that he got Taehyung's best friend's address from Taehyung's mother. He called for a cab, gave the address to the driver, and just waited inside until they arrived at the destination. Well, he had an apartment already in Seoul, and it was okay for two people, so he was planning on taking Taehyung with him; after all, the reason why Taehyung also wanted to be in Seoul was to pursue his dreams, and Jimin would be by his side to support him.

While Taehyung and Ilene were cooking, they were startled when they heard someone ringing the doorbell. Ilene was anxious, thinking it was Jungkook.

"I'll go check who was that," Taehyung uttered as he removed the apron to go to the door.

As he opened the door, he was surprised to see Jimin standing there.

"Hyung!" the excitement in his tone couldn't hide and hugged Jimin tightly. "I've been waiting for you, you know,"

"I'm sorry, a lot of things happened while I was in Busan," Jimin reasoned. "but since I'm here now, we can finally live together," he added.

Oh, that's right, Taehyung's original plan was to be with Jimin the whole time he would be in Seoul. He was happy thinking about that because he would feel at ease if he was with Jimin, and that's because he trusted him very well, and they almost grew up together.

"Did you perhaps change your mind now? Or would you like to stay here?" Jimin asked. "I mean, I don't mind whatever you want as long as you're comfortable with it, I'll go along with you." he stated.

"Of course not, I promised to live with you. It was just that Jungkook isn't here, so I couldn't just randomly leave without his notice." Taehyung explained, rubbing the back of his neck.

Maybe, he should tell Jimin his suspicion about Jungkook. But for now, for the safety of his best friend Jimin, he had to be careful.

"I see; I wouldn't mind waiting for him to arrive, though; you can start packing your things so we can leave together." Jimin smiled.

"Leave together?"

Jimin and Taehyung both flinched when they heard a stern yet cold voice behind Jimin. Jimin turned around and saw someone who had a sleek, edgy look with dark, slightly tousled hair that framed his defined features and expressive eyes. His lean, muscular build and minimal accessories, like earrings, give him a cool, refined style highlighted by a dark, formal outfit. However, Jimin felt something was off with this guy.

"Oh, Hyung, he is Jeon Jungkook," Taehyung introduced Jungkook. "and Jeon Jungkook, this is my Hyung, Park Jimin," he uttered.

"Nice to meet you," Jimin said as he looked at Jungkook.

Jimin could tell, Jungkook hated his presence. His eyes surely would pierce him.

"I see, what are you doing here?" Jungkook asked with a venomous tone.

"Well, I was going to take him to live with me from now on." Jimin smiled but almost grinned.

"What did you say?" Jungkook was shooting glares at him.

"Didn't you hear me?" there was a hint of mockery in his tone.

"You don't have to take him with you, I think he will live properly if he's with me." Jungkook commented.

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't stand to think that my best friend would live with a guy who already had a family living with him. I don't want him to become a burden to you and your wife," Jimin grinned.

"It doesn't matter, that woman was fine with him." Jungkook retorted.

"I don't care, but it would be very strange if he stayed here with your family. That's not normal, you know," Jimin shot back.

Taehyung wanted to ease the situation. He could feel the situation between them.

"Okay," Taehyung was surprised by Jungkook's response. "but you can take him with you tomorrow; I promised Taehyung that I would tour him around, and I haven't done that yet. Tomorrow is my free time, just let me do that before you take him with you." Jungkook stated.

Jimin glanced at Taehyung, who nodded his head, and Jimin sighed.

"Sure, I'll take him with me tomorrow, I'll be back here." Jimin just agreed on it.

"Thank you" was not sincere at all.

"I'll go and leave now, Taehyung, I'll wait for you tomorrow, then." Jimin ruffled Taehyung's hair.

"I'll assist you outside," Taehyung suggested.

"No need, the cab was waiting for me, so don't bother yourself; see you tomorrow," Jimin smiled and looked at Jungkook, giving him the fakest smile ever before he left.

Taehyung sighed in relief when the tension settled down. Jungkook ran his fingers through his hair before he went upstairs which made Taehyung confused because he seemed occupied.
