Chapter 14: Hyung's Situation

The moment the morning arrived, Taehyung received a horrifying call from the hospital. He did not hesitate to go straight to the hospital with Jungkook tagging along with him. He was anxious the whole ride and couldn't help himself but silently cried. That's why he made sure to go straight to the room where Jimin was confined.

"Hyung..." his voice was shaky while looking at his best friend's situation that had a full bandage wrapped around his head down to his feet.

He couldn't believe this would happen. Jimin was fine yesterday, they even had a small conversation. And now, he had to see Jimin in this situation.

"Hyung," he cried while going near Jimin's bed.

He wanted to touch him and talk to him but he knew it was impossible for him to do so.

"Are you Kim Taehyung?" someone had spoken behind him.

Still trembling Taehyung, Taehyung turned his head around and looked at the officer standing there.

"Y-yes, that's me," he sniffled.

"We found out about you because you were the first and last person he had attempted to contact on his phone. May I ask what's your relationship with the patient?" the officer questioned him.

"I'm his friend, we live in Daegu." Taehyung muttered while trying to wipe off his eyes.

"I see; now that makes sense why no one knew him in the area of the incident." the officer uttered.

"What happened to him?" Taehyung asked the officer.

"He was involved in a serious accident but we couldn't rule out the possibility of foul play." The officer informed him.

"What do you mean?" Taehyung was confused.

"We watched in a CCTV recording that the van that had crashed into him seemed to do it intentionally, and the rest of the video was deleted. We couldn't find any recordings of the incident because it happened in a one-way aisle." The officer stated. "but we thought it could be an accident as well because the patient was positive for drugs." he added.

"What?!" Taehyung was shocked to hear that. "that can't be true, officer; there's no way Hyung would use drugs! He was fine the last time I met him before this incident happened! He's not a drug user!" Taehyung grabbed the officer's collar due to frustration.

"We found drugs in his body and we can confirm to you that it was indeed drugs. It may be possible that he wasn't sober during the incident, which could explain why he seemed to be out of his mind." The officer told him.

"No, no, no that's not true! He's not an addict! I'm sure of it; Hyung won't do such a thing!" Taehyung cried.

He kind of blamed why this happened to Jimin. It was because of him that Jimin was in this place in the first place.

"He said he'll take me with him, I'm sure he would plan to make my first experience here worthy. I knew him! I knew that he wouldn't use drugs!" Taehyung exclaimed right in front of the officer's face.

"That's right, the patient was hit in a purpose."

They were all surprised to hear someone's voice. They both looked at the person who was standing outside the door.

"Hyung," Taehyung cried and immediately hugged him.

Jungkook, who was there the whole time, looked at the person who just came inside. He was sure he had seen that face before. The officer immediately recognized him, stood up properly, and saluted to that person.

"It's nice to see you, Mr. Min." the officer greeted him.

"I'd like the police to do a further and thorough investigation of what happened. I believe this is not a simple accident but rather an intentional one." Yoongi told the officer. "make sure to find any evidence that will prove that it is no accident, do you understand?" he ordered the officer.

"Yes, Sir!" the officer respectfully responded still in his posture.

Jungkook looked at that person. Now he understands why he looks familiar to him.

Min Yoongi.

One of the most respected people in South Korea. His parents were influential in the country and known to do a lot of charity for poor people. Yoongi gained more influence because he served in the military. He was a veteran soldier who served for the country but had to retire because of his shoulder problem. That's why even the authorities know and respect him.

"Then, I'll take a leave now, Sir." the officer bowed 90° and left the room.

"It's okay, Taehyung; we'll find out the truth very soon." Yoongi attempted to comfort the younger one who was sobbing.

"I-I couldn't believe it, Hyung; Jimin Hyung was blamed for using drugs. That's not true!" Taehyung looked at Yoongi with teary eyes.

"I know, we both know him. It must be some sort of mistake. Don't worry; the truth will be revealed, and the culprit will be locked up in jail in no time." Yoongi assured him with a smile and ruffled his hair.

Taehyung nodded his head, wiping off his tears. Suddenly, someone's phone rang, and they both looked at Jungkook.

"Who's that?" Yoongi asked while looking at Jungkook.

"He's Jeon Jungkook, a good friend of mine. I was staying in his place at the moment and was about to stay with Jimin Hyung, but this happened." Taehyung said, sniffing.

"Ooh, if it's not the great Jeon Jungkook." it was sarcasm.

"Taehyung, we should go now, it's time for us to leave." Jungkook was about to grab Taehyung, but Yoongi interfered, standing between them.

"You can leave first, Taehyung will stay here. Can't you see he's worried for his friend? I don't think he would want to leave right now." Yoongi stated, glaring at Jungkook as if he was already suspicious of him.

Jungkook glared back, not liking Yoongi as well.

"H-hyung's right, Jungkook, I-I want to stay here with Jimin Hyung. So please, let me stay here." Taehyung pleaded.

He knew Jungkook didn't like that because Jungkook's expression says so. But he knew that he'd be safe with Yoongi, and there was no way Jungkook would dare to do something right in front of a veteran.

"I see, just call me if you want to go home." Jungkook smiled.

Taehyung nodded his head and was glad that everything was fine. Jungkook left and Taehyung sighed. However, Jungkook had his hands balled in a fist while gritting his teeth. It seemed like he had to get rid of someone once again even though it could actually become dangerous for him.
