Chapter 15: An Obvious Threat
Chapter 15: An Obvious Threat
There was a pure silence the moment Jungkook had left. Taehyung could tell that Yoongi didn't like Jungkook, but it confused him because he didn't know if the two had met or not before.
"Where did you meet him, Taehyung?" Taehyung was taken aback by his sudden question which made his brain malfunction for a second.
"Huh?" he responded, fluttering his eyes.
"I'm asking where did you meet Jungkook?!"
He flinched when Yoongi raised his tone and seemed to be agitated or something.
"I-I used to know him before, he stayed in Daegu for a long time before his parents decided to go to Seoul and lived here." Taehyung told him.
"Why do you still have a connection with him?" Yoongi questioned him once again.
"W-we stay in contact through calls and texts. H-he's a good friend of mine that's why I'm happy when we're still connected even though of our distance. I felt lucky to have him." Taehyung admitted the truth while fidgeting his fingers.
"Jimin had mentioned you'll meet a friend in Seoul. If I just knew that it was Jungkook, I shouldn't have let you leave Daegu." Yoongi seemed to be frustrated.
"Hyung?" Taehyung was confused.
"What do you know about him?" Yoongi kept asking him questions.
"He's very kind and caring to me. He gave me everything he could just to make me happy. I told him not to do that but he said he just wanted to spoil me because he had no friend in Seoul. I just let him because I thought he was lonely. He never hurt me, Hyung." Taehyung stated anxiously.
"Taehyung, that characteristic you describe of him was a facade he honed to manipulate you and make you think of him like that. He's a bastard, a maniac, and a psychopath, that's the real him." Yoongi spilled the truth. "why would you even go here just for him? Did he force you or what?!" he inquired, sternly looking at Taehyung.
"It's not like that, Hyung..." Taehyung uttered. "Jimin Hyung actually wanted to be here and invited me so we could find a better job. It just happened that I went here first since Hyung had to be delayed at that time because his grandma called him. And I had to stay with Jungkook because I was scammed in the hotel I booked for." he couldn't really his anxiety.
"That fucking bastard." he could hear Yoongi grits his teeth. "did you leave his place?" Yoongi tried to stay calm.
"I-I couldn't..." Taehyung mumbled with tears forming in his eyes.
"What do you mean you couldn't?!" Yoongi was really furious.
"I-I was worried... I was worried about them, Hyung. He would hurt them, I'm afraid something would happen to them." Taehyung cried while trying to wipe off his tears with the back of his hands.
"What are you talking about, Taehyung? Did that bastard do something to threaten you to stay with him?" Yoongi was now worried.
"It was just my assumption but I think he's abusing his own family, Hyung. He has a partner, Ilene, and a kid, Gyu. What happened to them was a mistake, but Hyung, Gyu is just a kid, an innocent one. I wanted to help them, but I didn't know what to do. I couldn't leave them in that kind of situation. My conscience couldn't handle it." He sobbed.
"You're not going to go back there, Taehyung." Yoongi simply said.
"But, Hyung, I can't do that. I've just told you my reason; please, Hyung, let's help them." Taehyung held Yoongi's arm, pleading.
"Did you hear what I just said, Taehyung?" Yoongi's voice was stern. "he would hurt you if you tried to expose him. You wouldn't be able to escape from him if you stayed with him any longer." he added.
"He won't hurt me, Hyung. I'm sure of it, so please, help me do something to save them, I'm begging you, Hyung." Taehyung looked at him with teary eyes.
"You're not sure what's running to his brain, Taehyung. Who knows, he was just letting you get used to his personality, and the next day, he would show his true colors? You're putting yourself in danger." Yoongi argued with him.
"I'm sure he wouldn't harm me, Hyung. I promise, if everything gets complicated, I'll leave him alone, okay? Just please, at least do this for me." Taehyung begged him with his trembling lips.
There was silence at that moment; Yoongi sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Fine, but can you please stay with me for tonight? I don't think I'll be able to feel relief in the meantime." Yoongi said, accepting Taehyung's request.
Taehyung nodded his head. "Thank you for understanding, Hyung." he hugged Yoongi tightly.
Jungkook's annoyance grew even more. It's already 10 in the evening and Taehyung hasn't come back yet. He just received a text that Taehyung would stay with that bastard. He should have not allowed Taehyung to stay with that annoying bastard.
Jungkook was sure that Yoongi would do something to take Taehyung away from him and that was something he didn't want to happen. Yoongi would be his formidable opponent for him if he didn't do something. He should get rid of Yoongi no matter what. His phone suddenly rang, and it was the same number Taehyung had used to text him. Obviously, he answered it right away.
"Taehyung, is that you?" Jungkook asked first.
"No, Taehyung is sleeping right now." it was the annoying bastard's voice, Yoongi.
"Why did you call?" Jungkook couldn't hide his annoyance.
"I don't understand why you would want to have Taehyung in your place; I've heard you had a family; don't you think you should focus on your family instead?" Yoongi questioned him straight to the point.
"I'm Taehyung's guardian while he stays here, his mother knew it. I would feel guilty if something happened to him." Jungkook simply replied.
"It's amazing to know you had a conscience, I couldn't believe it." it has a mockery mixed in his tone.
"I should be asking you the same thing, right? Why would you want Taehyung under your care?" Jungkook inquired.
"He's basically my brother, that's why I'm worried that something would happen if he's with you. Don't you think you should mind your own business?" Yoongi shot back.
"Unfortunately, Taehyung is my business." Jungkook responded.
"How about your family, then?" Yoongi sneered.
"You don't need to think about them, they'll be fine. You should worry about yourself instead, danger could be hanging around, you know." it was an obvious threat.
"Don't worry, I will. And maybe you should too because who knows, behind bars would fit you better." Yoongi then ended the call.
Jungkook gritted his teeth and threw the phone on the ground. Yoongi could smell something off. As he expected of a veteran, he should kill him this time, unlike what happened to Jimin.
