Chapter 16: The Attempt Attack

As Taehyung stated, he literally went back to Jungkook's mansion after his stay with Yoongi. For some reason, there was tension between the two when he arrived at Jungkook's mansion, but he couldn't tell what happened. Fortunately, Jungkook seemed to not mind it and was in a good mood now.

"How's your stay with that Hyung of yours?" Jungkook suddenly asked while they were having a meal together in Jungkook's mansion.

"Fine and comfortable. I was fed and taken care of by his staff." Taehyung replied with a small smile.

"That's good to hear, I was worried because I thought you wouldn't eat after what happened to your friend." Jungkook stated with a seemingly worried tone.

"Oh, I don't want to but Hyung would scold me if I didn't eat. Besides, he doesn't want anything else to happen to me. He's a caring and kind Hyung, Jungkook, I hope you trust him." Taehyung uttered while looking at Jungkook.

"I don't think I don't need to trust him, I think that would be unnecessary if I'm not going to see him anymore, right?" Jungkook then looked at him.

Taehyung felt chills sent through his body for some reason when he heard that. There's something hidden in his eyes that Taehyung couldn't pinpoint.

"Wuh-what do you mean by that?" he asked, cursing internally when he stuttered. "Hyung might invite me back to his place, you know. I think you'll still see him." Taehyung told him.

"Hm, I see." Jungkook simply responded and went back to eating.

Taehyung did not like that, he was sure something was odd about Jungkook's action right now.

"Uh, where's Ilene and her kid, Gyu? I don't think I've seen them earlier." Taehyung changed the topic and thought that Jungkook might have done something to them.

"Them? She left when you arrived, and I think she brought that kid to his class." Jungkook seemed uninterested in their topic but still answered anyway.

Taehyung simply mouthed, "Oh," and closed his mouth again.

"Why don't you finish your meal? You said you wanted to visit my company, right? I think today is a great time to visit; I won't be busy right now." Jungkook changed the topic this time.

"Are you sure? I don't want to bother you, though." Taehyung replied baffled but excited.

"Don't worry, I also want you to take a look at my office. I think you might have liked it." Jungkook smiled at him.

It wasn't that fake but not a convincing smile as well.

"That's good to hear, I'll get ready, then." Taehyung finished his meal before he ran upstairs to get ready since it might be a good idea to go out for a while because being alone with Jungkook was suffocating.

Jungkook just watched him disappear from his sight and poke his tongue in his inner cheek. He then pulled out his phone, texting someone about something that needed to be done right away before everything got complicated once the situation got out of his control.

Yoongi got out of his car after arriving at the parking lot of the hospital where Jimin' was confined. He was locking the door when he noticed something─or rather someone behind him through his window car. He secretly pulled out his gun from his pocket before immediately turning around, shooting the person who was about to shoot him if he didn't move any faster. He kept shooting the person who was now running away while using parked cars as his shield. Yoongi has no intention of killing that person, in fact, he wanted that person to be alive.

As he was distracted by that person, someone suddenly choked him from behind. Yoongi obviously fights back, using his shoulder to get out of the person behind him but the grip around his neck tightened. He then bends down as low as he could, flipping the person behind him who was now on the ground, in front of him. He curses under his breath when his shoulder stings, but he groans because he got shot in his left knee, forcing him to slightly kneel down.

He dived onto the ground, picked up the gun he had let go earlier, and tried to shoot the person who was running away from him earlier. He shot that person's feet that were underneath the spaces of the car and the ground, which worked when that person crouched down but hid himself through the car. Yoongi, however, was kicked in his stomach because the person he had flipped earlier quickly stood up, and when he tried to shoot that person, the hand that was holding his gun was kicked, sending his gun away from him.

That person didn't let him stand up, kicking him everywhere. Once that person noticed he weakened, he was choked while Yoongi was gripping tightly on that person's arm who was now hovering on top of him, but he saw that person was trying to get something in his pocket and it was an injection. As Yoongi tried to fight back, that person simply punched him in the face and attempted to inject him with an injection on his neck.

But Yoongi grabbed the person's arm that was holding the injection to make sure he wouldn't get injected, but that person was choking him tightly. Out of nowhere, that person suddenly passed out and rolled to the ground.

"Hyung?!" it was Namjoon who hit the person with the metal bat.

Panting heavily, Namjoon helped Yoongi to stand up, who was now trying to catch his breath.

"What was that, Hyung? Why was someone attacking you?" Namjoon seemed to be confused.

"Where's the other person?" Yoongi asked but choked on his words.

"Huh?" Namjoon was baffled and roamed his eyes around. "Is there another person targeting you?" he asked.

"Shit," Yoongi cursed under his breath and gritted his teeth in annoyance. "take this man with you, I'll interrogate him." he then walked to his car, limping to get something.

"How about you? You're shot too." Namjoon told him.

"I can take care of myself, just take care of that man. Make sure he'll be alive once you transport him." Yoongi was contacting someone through his phone.

Namjoon was clueless but still listened to him. He carried the unconscious man with him while Yoongi clenched his fist. If Jeon Jungkook was behind this, he'd make him pay no matter what.
