Chapter 3: Look for him
Chapter 3: Look for him
After a week, Taehyung was traveling to Seoul by train. He has already told his parents about it, and they have agreed to let him because he is old enough to make his own decisions. They even took care of him to ensure that he wouldn't appear to be a beggar once he arrived.
He wore new pants, a crimson jacket with a designer label, and white sneakers that Jungkook had bought for him. He was oblivious to the eyes that were on him because of how costly his attire made him appear.
Taehyung was feeling a mix of excitement as well as apprehension. He was holding his phone and couldn't help but smile widely as the station to Seoul drew close.
"We have just arrived at Seoul Station."
When Taehyung heard the announcement, he got out of his seat and grabbed his bag's strap. It was almost 9 p.m. as soon as he got to the station.
He prepared his belongings and got off the train. A man suddenly appeared next to him and placed his hand on Taehyung's shoulder as he was about to leave.
"Don't try to scream, or else I'll kill you." He whispered through Taehyung's ear.
Taehyung swallowed firmly after realizing what the man was getting at. On his waist, where the puffy coat was, he felt something snag.
"Wuh-what do you want, sir?" Taehyung questioned, attempting to gather his composure.
"Give me your bag and your phone; don't make it too obvious; I'm warning you." The man told him.
Taehyung gave that man his bags and his phone because he still values his life.
The guy gave him a "good boy" pat on the head and then completely abandoned him.
Taehyung breathed a sigh of relief; at least that person didn't hurt him. He left the station right away to look for assistance. But how is he going to report that event?
He had never gone through anything like it before. Will they believe him? Why is his luck so bad today?
He is certain that if he is with Jimin Hyung, none of this will occur.
He shook his head. He still had a chance today. Maybe, he could check the hotel he reserved for himself later and report what happened. Fortunately, there is some in his pocket as he looks to see whether he has any cash for a taxi. See, he may still have luck on his side. He parked the taxi, then entered.
"Please send me to this location, sir."
Taehyung gave the driver the address.
"Young boy, are you sure this address is located here in Seoul?" The driver asked.
"Yes, Sir, why? Is there something wrong?" Taehyung responded.
"Yes, young boy, I've been driving for 37 years of my life, and I know every street in Seoul, but I've never seen this address before." He said.
"But that's the address given to the hotel I booked here, sir." Taehyung muttered.
"I'll check my GPS first because I could be mistaken."
Through his GPS, the driver attempted to find the address, but he was unsuccessful.
"Are you certain you weren't deceived?" The driver inquired.
Scam. For an inexperienced like Taehyung who doesn't even know about Seoul, that is certainly doable.
"I apologize for wasting your time, sir, but I assume that's what happened."
Taehyung sighed as he got out of the taxi and realized his mistake in going alone. He wasn't even bothered to consider what would happen to him because he was so eager to see Jungkook again.
Now, what will he do?
He forgot to ask the driver to borrow a phone to call Jungkook, and now he's all alone in a city he's not even familiar with. Since there was a park nearby, he went there and sat down on the bench while clutching his bag.
This will undoubtedly never happen if he tells Jungkook that he is traveling to Seoul.
"Stupid, Taehyung, stupid." He scolded him and smacked his forehead.
He didn't even notice that he photobombed two teenage girls taking pictures in front of him. He decided to take a break because he was too exhausted; he set the bag on the bench and lay down. Maybe the next day he should search for a pay phone.
Meanwhile, in Jungkook's office
He was astonished to see Taehyung's mother calling him as he was completing a few documents.
"Hello, Aunty, why did you call at this late hour?" It was almost one in the morning when Jungkook answered the phone.
"Jungkook, did Taehyung already arrive there? Is he with you right now? I've been calling his phone, but he still hasn't responded to me. I am assuming that he might forget to call us because of you." Taesha, Taehyung's mother, said.
"Aunty, Taehyung isn't here with me. Why would he be here in the first place?"
"Are you sure? Can you please look for him? Taehyung wanted to surprise you tonight; that's why he traveled alone, but it's been almost 12 hours since he left, and I have no news about him." Taesha stated.
"You should have told me. Why you would let him travel alone, Aunty? Seoul is a big city." Infuriated, Jungkook groaned.
"I just found out that he would be by himself from his friend Jimin. If I had known, I wouldn't have permitted him. He really wanted to surprise you. I'm worried, Jungkook." Taesha was starting to cry.
"Don't worry, Aunty, I'll look for him and I will tell you once I find him." Jungkook replied, massaging his forehead.
"Thank you, Jungkook; please update me as soon as possible." Taesha responded.
Jungkook hummed in reply before cutting the call short. To find Taehyung, he made contact with someone.
"It's been a while, JK. Why are you calling me now?"
"Look for each station here in Seoul; I want you to look for a person named Kim Taehyung; I will send you his identity; and make sure to call me once you find out where he is." Jungkook informed the guy on the phone.
"And why would I do that?"
Jungkook was annoyed; he could feel the smugness on Jin's face.
"For money, isn't that what you need?" Jungkook retorted.
"You really know me; sure, I will do that." Jin chuckled.
"Make the search fast; I don't like wasting my time."
Jungkook ended the call, poking his tongue into his inner cheeks. Finally, he will have Taehyung on his property. He can do things he's been planning for so long.
