Fallen (orkneyman) (1)
Fallen
a brilliant bold sun
rose the day I saw Psyche
dimmed when it met her smile
the stars at night
shame-faced meeting her eyes
now don't get me wrong
it was lust unreined
I knew she felt the same
shameless bestial
but it was not to be
oh how I suffered
the years she wandered
the years squandered
now don't get me wrong
I care not for love
the binding the agony
the hearts the flowers
not for me
I am the god of carnality
yet I fell
like any callow school-boy
needing her gaze
craving her lips
undone by love
now don't get me wrong
I enjoy a good meal as any
so there was a celebration
a ritual banquet
forever and exclusivity
promised
and now I am no more
purveyor of lust
I am the minion of Love
