I know I am not following the guidelines of this competition, but as founder, I am using my poetic license and posting this poem.

It is a poem I wrote for my beautiful wife, on Valentines Day, several years back.

I CAN'T IMAGINE

I can't imagine waking up to darkness

A world where the sun never shines

I can't imagine doing the same thing everyday

Just to pass away the time

And I can't imagine sitting in silence

Simply staring at the walls

And I can't imagine feeling the same way everyday

It would be like feeling nothing at all

And I can't imagine forever lonely

Walking through storm clouds all alone

And I can't imagine healing the pain every day

The pain of being alone

And I can't imagine going my whole life

With no one here by my side

And I can't imagine anyone living my life every day

Feeling something inside of me has died

And I can't imagine my world without you

Cause everything I fear will be

The world I described will be the world I'm trapped inside

With no way to be set free

But I don't have to imagine

Because everything that I'd hoped to find

Is all wrapped up in the silent sleeping angel

That's lying here by my side

And I can't imagine my world without you

I'm so thankful that you're mine
