Part Ten: Feeling...

Frisk's POV:

Sans had checked into the hotel, giving me a hug before leaving to go and settle in. I hoped that everything would work out... the fact that he had told me something that so close to his heart meant that he trusted me. And that made me feel happy.

I feel the underlying feeling of nervousness as I walk back home. Despite the streets being mostly empty, I still felt as if someone was watching me, following me, even.

I keep on glancing around, looking for someone or listening for someone, but nothing was happening. I was just paranoid.

The house was in view, and I could feel myself relax a little bit, knowing that I would be safe in the house with--I could be safe. I shiver as the wind picks up a little bit, sending the hair on my neck rising. I zip up my coat a little more, putting up the hood.

"Frisk," I hear my name as if was carried on the wind, and I whip around with my heart racing.

"Hello?" I call out, barely able to hear my own voice with the wind picking up even more. Ah, you just had to love the random blizzards in Snowdin.

"Frisk," The wind, or a person, sings out my name in an almost taunting manner.

I turn away, trying to get to the house quickly now. I start veering left, but I can't find the house. "Sans?" I shout, wondering if I had gone too far.

"He can't save you, Frisk," The voice is suddenly behind me.

I flinch as soon as I hear the voice, spinning around to see who it was. It was... the monster from before. The skeleton. I trip back as I take a step back, shocked and scared that he was here.

"No one can save you now." He picks me up by the collar of my shirt, throwing me backward. I tumble down the hill, and right into the freezing cold river. As I surface sputtering, I begin to call out again, trying to swim to land despite the strong current of the river.

"Help!" I wince at how shrill my voice sounds, and at how much I'm pushing my vocal cords.

He is walking beside me as I float down the river helplessly, grinning at my struggle.

"Frisk?!" Another voice echoes from somewhere close.

The dark skeleton turns his head, disappearing as Sans runs into the scene. "Sans!" I call out, flailing my hands so that he can see me.

He lifts his hand as he takes me out of the water, bringing me over to the shore. I immediately start shivering violently, and he hugs me as he picks me up. He doesn't say anything as we are teleported home.

Papyrus glances over into the living room from the kitchen and runs out, asking, "What happened?!"

"She was in the river, I-I haven't asked her why yet because she was yelling so loud. I can only imagine her voice hurts from that."

Papyrus zooms upstairs to go and get a blanket or three, and I try to keep my eyes open in spite of my body wanting to sleep so badly. Sans uses his magic to try and warm me up, which is helping, but I may never warm up until I begin sweating in Hotland.

I tap Sans' shoulder, signing to him, "It was the monster from before."

He frowns, "Nightmare? It was him?"

"His name is Nightmare? How do you know that?"

"The other Sans told me his name. Apparently, this Nightmare guy has been causing trouble all around the place."

I sigh, nodding. Nightmare. It seemed accurate to what he'd put me and Sans through so far. I couldn't imagine what else he had been up to in the past few days, months, or even years.

I can feel my eyes slowly closing themselves, the drowsiness of panicking and freezing slowly beginning to take over more and more.

"It's okay if you want to sleep," He says to me gently, "I'll make sure nothing bad happens. I promise."

"I know you will," I sign tiredly. "I trust you."

"I'm happy you trust me," He smiles, gently "kissing" my forehead. "Have a good nap, Frisk."

With that, I swiftly drifted off into sleep. Feeling... safe.
