Part Five: Run, Run, Run

Flowey and I exchanged a look of awe before I slowly approached the door. I jangled it a little bit. It was unlocked.

"Should I go?" I asked Flowey.

"I-I think that we do because this might be our only chance," Flowey replied, keeping his voice low as if he believed that speaking any louder may make the door lock or Sans come back.

I nodded and slowly opened it, checking around. There was no one around.

Then I started to bolt. It was freezing; the wind was so cold that it physically hurt, but that wasn't going to stop me.

After probably a few minutes of running, I couldn't feel my arms or legs, only my torso, and I had taken my arms into hiding inside of my shirt. If I didn't get out of this cold weather soon, I would probably die here.

I saw a glint of blue in the distance. I could feel the frostbite trying to take over my body but I started running again. It hurt, but hopefully, it would be worth it.

As I ran faster the blue glint expanded into a terrain that consisted of different levels of blue, mixed with some red, and was a waterfall terrain.

I felt myself warm up and I sat down in the fields of flowers, hoping this would hide me. One of the skeletons had surely figured out I was gone by now since they seemed pretty eager to get rid of me.

I felt my lungs calm down and slowly regained feeling in my body. The frostbite hurt, but at least I was warming up. I slowed my breathing and felt like sleeping. But I had to keep moving, if I stayed still for too long I would be caught.

"Should we continue?" I asked Flowey.

His petals looked like they had frostbite, and he replied with a shaky voice, "S-Sure."

I slowly got up, making sure not to agitate the frostbite at the most mobile parts of my body. I started walking again, getting out of the flowers and onto the path.

Flowey was shaking on my shoulder. I took him from my shoulder and into my arms, keeping him close to me. He eventually starting shaking less, warming up quicker.

"T-Thank you, Frisk." He said.

I nodded, hoping that he understood what I was saying with just that one gesture.

For a while we were both quiet, just warming up, taking in the surroundings. Everything was very blue and bright.

After a few hours of walking, I told Flowey with significantly less shaky hands that I needed to rest. He understood and we hid behind a waterfall, where a small cave hid us from view and the mist from the nearby waterfall.

I fell asleep very quickly.
