Part Ten: Right?
I stumbled a little bit as we appeared somewhere else, feeling incredibly lightheaded.
I asked him what he had done with my hands but then sighed, remembering that Flowey wasn't there to translate.
"I know someone who can translate, but I really quickly just need to do something. Can you wait here? Please?" He asked, his voice oddly sincere and concerned.
I sighed and nodded, sitting down against a tree. We were still in Snowdin, but not at the town. Somewhere in the forest, maybe?
Sans turned around and then started walking away, eventually disappearing into the vast thicket of trees.
Just then I realized how tired I was. My eyelids felt heavy and I felt myself yawning, over and over again. A small nap couldn't hurt, right?
Sans' POV:
The guilt poked at my non-existence stomach like my nagging brother. I knew that it was wrong, I knew that she was innocent and caring, but I had to.
I had to sell her to Undyne, or she would hurt her. I knew that I loved her, I knew that I loved Frisk, too, though.
But if I had to choose one or the other, and I had to in this situation, I had to choose her. She was the only one who I really cared about in this stupid place. Not to mention that she would be spared, especially with me protecting her, and with Asgore's power and his soul, we will be able to break the barrier.
One for the other, right?
I sighed, teleporting after walking for a minute. I appeared in Waterfall, the moisture in the air making me cough. Every single time. I knocked on Undyne's door and she answered.
"You really are a stubborn business partner, huh?" She started off this conversation with an insult.
"No, I just didn't want you slipping your way out of this. I know who to trust and who not to. I'm not as stupid as you think I am, Undyne." I kept my face neutral.
She scoffed, "Whatever, skeleton. You got her with you?"
"She's in Snowdin. Only I know where she is. Same for you, I presume."
The fish nodded, "Maybe we should make this transaction at the entrance of Waterfall? Best of both worlds?"
I narrowed my eye sockets at her, "And why should I trust you?"
Undyne shrugged, "We only need one soul and keeping her captive here long enough, I've become a bit attached to her."
I narrowed my eyes even more. That was not like Undyne at all.
She rolled her eyes at my skepticism, "You want her back or not?"
"O-Of course," I tried to keep my voice down during that sentence.
"Good. Entrance to Waterfall, in fifteen minutes. We both know it won't take that long, but just in case you need to convince that stubborn mute that she needs to trust you again or something."
I nodded.
"See you then."
She closed the door and I teleported back, beginning to walk back to where Frisk was.
The guilt gnawed at my stomach, but I knew it was for the best. I really, really missed her. And besides, this human couldn't mean that much.
Right?
