Chapter 1 - News

The marine closed the door behind him and hurried towards the Admiral's desk. The news he got five minutes ago sure isn't going to please the future Fleet Admiral.

The young man gulped as he met the Admiral's eyes. His glare was intimidating and it almost made him forget to salute; almost. After he saluted, he hurried to report the latest event that happened.

However, once the news reached the Admiral's ears, he slammed his hand onto the desk and growled in frustration. "When did this happen exactly? Were they attacked by pirates?" He asked. The young marine quickly replied. "No, sir. There were no signs of a fight. We are sure that the shipwreck happened around midnight. We have searched the area, sir, however, we didn't found any survivors. We also scattered around some search groups and alerted the nearby bases in case at least one of them are spotted on the islands near the shipwreck."

"Very well. Report in immediately in case of any news about this." The Admiral said. The young marine saluted once again and exited the room. He let out a sigh of relief as he closed the door.

The Admiral sighed frustrated over the news. Just as he thought he had her in his grasp. He rubbed his forehead as he was thinking about the possibilities of what could've happened. No fight so that can only be the weather's fault. However, the ship had everything it needed to resist even a hurricane.

This was obviously the hand of a devil fruit user and the only one he could think of was none other than the Revolutionary Dragon.

His thoughts were cut off once he heard the door knocking. The door opened and he was greeted by the, now late, Fleet Admiral himself, Sengoku. The man didn't look too happy to see him but the feelings were mutual.

The man closed the door behind and sat down on the chair that was in front of his desk. Sengoku sighed and then looked at him. "I've heard the news. It seems that the fate isn't in your favor. I sure do hope you remember our agreement, Akainu." He furrowed his eyes at Sengoku. "Our agreement doesn't have any value now that you've stepped down, Sengoku." He replied.

"I wouldn't get so cocky, Sakazuki. You still need to be elected and from what I remember, I didn't recommend you as the future Fleet Admiral before I stepped down." Sengoku replied with a smirk. Akainu shook his head in disapproval. "I still do not see what you've seen in Aokiji. Well, it doesn't really matter. It seems that you did not hear the news, Sengoku."

Sengoku looked confused towards Akainu. "What do you mean? What news?" He asked. "I've been recommended by the Government itself to be the next Fleet Admiral." Akainu announced with a smirk. Sengoku was a bit surprised by the news, however, he wasn't shocked. He hoped it wouldn't come to this but he expected it.

"They just couldn't believe the fact that you haven't recommended the hero of the war for this, and they put me on the list immediately. I didn't even have to talk to one of them." Akainu laughed. Sengoku rubbed his forehead. "I guess it's up to you and Aokiji to settle this. I expect a clean fight." Sengoku sat up and walked towards the door. Before he opened it, he paused for a second.

"And, Akainu, until the next Fleet Admiral is officially decided, I'm still the one to make the decisions. I will not accept this any longer. If you truly wish to keep that girl safe, let her go." He said before he closed the door.

The warmth and the need for a drink made you wake up from your slumber. You looked around your surroundings after you completely woke up. You couldn't remember a thing. The only thing you could remember however was a storm.

Nothing seemed familiar in this room. As you were about to stand up, the door opened and a woman who was carrying a tray of food entered the room. She had a huge smile on her face once she saw you awake.

"Oh my goodness! I cannot believe it! You're awake!" She exclaimed. She placed the tray next to your bed and sat walked beside you. "How are you feeling? You were in a very bad state when we found you on the shore. How did you manage to get yourself this injured? Actually, never mind that, how did you manage to sail on the New World while being pregnant? It's a miracle the baby it's still alive you know!" She shook her head in disapproval.

"I- I do not remember." You replied. She gasped at your response and covered her mouth. "Oh my! This is truly a tragedy. George, the doctor, said that this might happen. I am very sorry, young lady." She said.

"But I will remember, right?" You asked, getting yourself a little more worried about the situation. The woman sighed. "That is only up to you. There's no doctor who can heal such thing. Only time and patience will tell. But for now, you still have to recover your strength. I will call George to check up on you. Until then, eat as much as you can." She said as she placed the tray on top of you.

You couldn't eat much since the headache was almost unbearable. You kept forcing yourself to remember anything that you can. Who you are, where do you come from, who are your parents, why did you sailed, why are you pregnant. All this questions that you've yet found out the answer to them. The one thing that bothered you was the fact that the belly seemed to be noticeable enough. It made you wonder how far you actually are in your pregnancy.

Besides your head feeling like it's going to explode at any minute, your neck hurt the most. No, I wasn't because of thirst. The right side of your neck was what hurt the most and that really bothered you. Once you touched that area you noticed that it was covered with a big band aid. You winced once you pressed a little on that area.

The door opened and it almost made you jump. The man had a briefcase and it was dressed as a doctor which made you realize that he was probably the doctor the woman spoke of. He sat down his briefcase on the ground and checked you up. Once he arrived at that spot on your neck he sighed. "Tsk, this is getting worst day by day. I suppose you wouldn't know what the hell happened to you, would you?" He asked. You only shocked your head. "At first I thought it was just a simple infection but now, I'm not sure what to think of it. You're lucky that your baby is strong enough cause if he wasn't, he would've been a goner by now."

"How far am I?" You asked. The doctor paused for a moment. "Well, I've tended pregnant women before and I've learned that every pregnancy is different and that includes the belly size. From what I can tell, you seem to be at the end of your first trimester. So almost four months, I suppose?"

He paused for a second as he saw a faint smile on your face. "Look, I do not want to be the one that kills the mood, but I don't really have confidence in your pregnancy. And even if you manage to pass through it, the baby won't be at its hundred. From what I can tell, you've gone through too many traumatic experiences. That isn't good for neither you or the baby."

Your heart sank as you heard the doctor's words. You gulped and placed your hand on your belly. "But now I'm not saying that this is written to happen. Do not get the wrong idea, I truly wish and hope that you and your baby will be the healthiest duo I've seen. I might be wrong and for the first time, I do want to believe that I am wrong. What I'm trying to say is that you should take it easy until this baby is born. Too much action isn't good for anyone." He finished.

Once he finished his check up, he left. Not even a few minutes after he left, the woman from earlier ran into the room. "What did he say?" She asked. "Nothing much... The baby may not make it." You whispered. She let out a sigh and hugged you. "Don't worry. I'm sure everything will work out. You'll see. For now, why don't we get you cleaned up? How does that sound?" She asked as she helped you stand up. "Yeah, thanks." You said.

"Uhh, you took care of me while I was unconscious but I do not even know your name so I can thank you properly." You said. She let out a chuckle. "Oops, where are my manners? My name is Atsuko." She said.

Your eyes widened at that name. She seemed somehow familiar, however, you weren't so sure about it. "Well thank you, Atsuko." You said. "You can't remember your name, do you?" She asked.

"No."

——————————————————

What? Atsuko is alive?! Wtf is going on!! For those who do not remember, Atsuko was the name of YOUR MOTHER. Well, damn what a plot twist.

AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN BABY ACE ISN'T GOING TO MAKE IT?! Patience little cricket. You will pass the ocean with patience.

So here we go! The first chapter of another long freaking adventure. I do not actually plan to make this book 50 chapters long. I still do not know how the plot will turn out to be, but we still got a long ride until we get to see Sabo as I promised.

Keep in mind, this story is still a Ace x Reader. ;)
