It was the middle of the night when you felt a sudden pain in your lower stomach. You never felt this much pain in your life. It lasted for about twenty seconds, but it seemed to be the longest twenty seconds of your life.

After the pain calmed, slowly down, you stood up immediately. You knew that this was bad. That was a contraction no doubt about that. Fear started to slowly creep into your heart. What if you get into labor? Both you and the baby will be in danger.

You were now eight months pregnant. Three months have passed ever since you came here. Everyone couldn't wait until they could meet the bundle of joy, however, neither of you wanted for the little one to come sooner than anticipated.

You laid back on the bed. Maybe it was just a cramp and you were worrying for nothing. Although it seemed rather strange these days. The baby wasn't active as much and boy, it sure knew how to kick. Deciding it was nothing you should worry about, you closed you eyes, and slowly went back to sleep.

But it even didn't passed two hours and you woke up once again, because of the same pain you had a few hours ago. This time it seemed to get stronger, more consistent and lasting a lot longer than the last one. By now, you realized you were having contractions, something normal considering the fact that you were eight months pregnant. The body needed to get ready for the actual birth.

But something about these contractions seemed different from the ones you had. Deciding that you wanted to grab a glass of water, the moment you stood up, you felt a gush of water between your legs. Your eyes widened as you stood there stunned.

"Oh nonononono-" You started to freak out. This wasn't supposed to happen this month! Y-you still had one more month! The baby wasn't supposed to come out now! You tried to calm yourself down. Everything is going to be alright.

You went down the hall to Makino's room and started to bang on the door, loud enough to wake her up. Makino immediately woke up and opened the door. She was almost shocked when she saw you breathing heavily and sweating. "What's wrong?" She asked you as she helped you stand.

"My water just broke! Makino, I'm not ready." You said quickly, between breaths. Makino's eyes widened. She nod and helped you get back in your room. You laid back on the bed and tried to be calm as possible about this situation.

"Okay, okay. Try to calm down. I'm gonna go and grab the doctor, okay? Just stay here and try to slow your breathing. Just think of happy things. Everything is going to be alright." She assured you as she placed her hand on your shoulder. She immediately left the room and left you alone.

You could feel the tears streaming down your face. What did you do wrong? Why is the baby coming now?   You didn't really care of the fact that you're about to go through some serious pain in just a few hours, but what you really were worried about was the fact that the baby is going to have a premature birth.

All the stupid things you had done during this pregnancy came in your mind. This was all your fault... If you weren't so emotional about the things that happened, you wouldn't have stressed the baby so much that it would push him or her to be born prematurely.

Ten minutes just standing alone in the room, the door opened and the doctor rushed in the room. The doctor was a middle-aged woman. You befriended her a few months ago and asked her if she would be the one who would help you with your birth. She knew that you've been through a lot and both of you feared the exact thing that is happening right now. Early birth.

She listened very carefully as you told her exactly what happened. No doubt in the fact that you water broke, she and Makino started to prepare everything for birth.

It was already morning by the time it was finally time to push. The hours passed by very slowly. You were in a hell lot of pain and the only thing you had in your mind at that moment was just one person. Ace. You didn't really knew why you couldn't concentrate on anything else. You felt sad over the fact that it was finally time to meet your child and yet, he wasn't here.

"Okay (Name). You're finally ready to push." The doctor said. You nod quickly and tried to get in a more better position. No matter what you did, you couldn't stop thinking about Ace. You felt like crying. And it wasn't because you were in pain.

Pushing with all you might, you started to remember all those sweet moments the two of you had. You continued to push, with very short breaks in between one push and another. You felt tears streaming down your face as you remembered how he would smile at you or how he would always tell you how much he loved you.

With one last push, you let out a big sigh once you felt the sudden relief of pain. The baby was born. However...

"Why isn't it crying?" You cried. Makino watched in horror at the scene happening in front of her eyes. You continued to cry as you watch the doctor try the best she could to make the baby breathe.

Your heart literally stopped. You couldn't breathe or think anything. You just watched, shocked as you baby didn't move an inch. Your heart was breaking. You continued to shook your head with tears streaming down your face. This couldn't be happening.

But just as you lost all hope, a sudden cry made everyone in the room feel relieved. You sighed and rested on the bed. The baby was alright. Makino smiled at you and hurried next to the doctor to help her with the baby.

You waited patiently to meet the little one. You were so excited to know if it was a girl or if it was a boy. You smiled as you heard a few cries here and there. You looked at the morning sky out the window. Today, you became a mother.

After just a few minutes, Makino walked towards you with the most cutest baby you ever saw. You started to get emotional once again. You tried your best not to cry but failed. She handed you your baby and smiled at you.

"It's a boy." She announced. You were so happy. "Hi..." You said softly. You held the baby close to you as possible. He was so tiny but he looked so much like Ace. You knew that in time, he's even going to get his freckles. You wimped away your tears and gently stroked the baby's head.

"(Name), you did it." Makino smiled at you. "The baby is healthy." The doctor told you. You couldn't be more happy than you were right now. Makino came to your left side and looked at the baby. "What are you going to name him?" She asked.

You gave it a thought for a moment. Only one name seemed to fit the little guy perfectly. "Kou." You smiled at the little joy. "Blessing. Happiness. That's what he gave me and so his name is going to be Kou." You answered. "Sounds beautiful." Makino smiled at you. The baby opened his eyes and looked into yours.

"Welcome to the world, Gol D. Kou."

It's a boy!!

Some of you won't like the name but hey, I don't give a fuuuuuuuuu-

No but really, I searched for something that was fitting enough and couldn't find anything. And I came across this name and remembered Ao Haru Ride and I was like fuck it. So the name is Kou!

Why is it a boy? Because we want the little guy to be the spitting image of his father just to fuck with reader-chan some more. :)
