Chapter 31 - Surroundings
Suddenly, the ground began to shake under you. You leaned against the stone walls of the corridor, hoping to regain some balance. The minute you placed your foot in this country you immediately got a guttural feeling. You knew from the start that the situation was going to get worse, but you weren't expecting this.
You took a deep breath. You had to calm down. You never experienced so many emotions at once and it scared you: fear, anger, sadness, happiness, love, hate. All of them were rampaging inside your mind, confusing you even more. You felt like the uncontrollable wind from the Grand Line.
You wanted to kill Doflamingo more than ever but the chances of actually doing that were close to zero, which frustrated you. You needed to get the hell out of this place, but you had no idea where you actually were.
Your devil fruit powers weren't helpful either. Even though you have seen through your mother's memories how to use this overpowered fruit, you still had no idea how to actually use it.
You felt weaker than usual, and you knew exactly why. You never thought you possessed Haki, much less the Conquerors. Using the Haki wasn't a great idea either. It puts so much strain on your body that isn't even worth trying. It's clear that you need training. You're obviously not ready to fight anyone yet.
Once the grumbling stopped, you took a few seconds to regain your composure. You looked around, trying to see if there is any exit around and of course, there was none. It almost felt like a labyrinth.
You needed to get the hell out of there as soon as possible as Ace's life might be in danger right now. That devil fruit is nothing more than a bait. It's not even a devil fruit. It's just poison shaped into a devil fruit, in this case, the Mera Mera no Mi. If anyone eats it, he or she is as good as dead.
Doflamingo is a sick bastard, who manipulated this country and twisted it in various ways, but that did not scare you as much as the thought of losing Ace once again.
The reason why your mother was here was that she heard about the Colosseum's prize so she went to investigate it herself. Unfortunately, she got way too deep into Dressrosa's secrets and before she knew it, she ended up being poisoned. That very poison is now in that fake Mera Mera no Mi and if Ace eats it, he won't need to worry about his wounds anymore...
That's why you desperately tried to find an exit or at least a den den mushi so you could contact either Ace, Sabo or Koala.
As you ran down the halls, a strange thought crossed your mind which made you stop. What if the walls were moving? What if that's why the ground was shaking? If so, you knew exactly who was the author of that. Pica.
You clenched your fist and stared at the wall in front of you. Well if there's no exit what so ever, you're going to try and make your own exit. You weren't going to stay here running to a dead end for nothing.
Taking a deep breath, you tried to concentrate on the energy that surrounded you. You still had no idea how to use this, as your mother's memories on the powers were not very clear on how to use them.
You concentrated as well as you could. Suddenly, you heard a crack from the wall, and that's when you knew that whatever you were doing, was working. You grinned and taking a step back, you threw your fist into the wall, smashing it completely.
And that's when you finally found someone.
A total of five skinny looking guys were sitting around at a table, drinking and eating. All of you stopped and looked at each other. You couldn't be more proud of yourself. What was really interesting about them was that on that very table, there was placed a certain snail. You couldn't help but smile in victory.
The guys quickly stood up and pointed the guns at you. You saw this as a perfect opportunity to test your abilities and the things that you learned from your mother. You raised your right hand up and with a small movement of your fingers, you tried to knock out the five guys.
Three out of those five guys fainted while the fourth and the fifth remained paralyzed. You sighed. Of course, you didn't knock out all of them.
You smiled at the remaining two and grabbed the snail from the table. You checked to see if there was an active call going on and then began to dial Sabo's number. It called and called but no one was answering. So you tried to call Koala next. This time, she answered.
"Who is it?" She asked with a stern voice. "Koala! It's me." You said glad to finally hear her voice once again. "(Name)! Where are you? I've been searching for you! Sabo told me what happened." She said.
You sighed and rubbed your head. You weren't sure if it was a great idea to talk about it over the den den mushi. "It's a long story. Where are you right now? Do know if Luffy won that devil fruit?" You asked. "Luffy-kun left the Colosseum long ago. Sabo is fighting in his place now." She explained. "I'm at the Colosseum too. I'm waiting for Sabo to win it. Why?" She asked.
"Whatever you do, don't let anyone eat that devil fruit. It's a trap! If anyone were to eat it they would instantly die." You yelled. "So it's all fake. Just as I suspected. Well, this is more of a diversion anyway. Luffy is off to fight Doflamingo from what I understood. Once Sabo wins this round, we're going straight underground."
"Underground?" You asked. "That's where we believe the trades are being executed. As for Ace, I understood that he went to look for you." She whispered.
You gulped. Oh no. Where could he be? If your mother's memories were right, then the Marines are really on this island right now. If they spot Ace... Well, let's not even think about that.
"Ok. Got it. I'll try to get the hell out of here then." You said as you walked past the two paralyzed men to look out the window.
"Where are you anyway?" She asked worried for your safety. Your smile slowly faded as the light from the sun hit your face. You gulped as you looked down at the town.
Out of all the places out there, you just had to be at the palace right?

Hi! Remember me? The author that hasn't updated any of her stories since August? Yeah that one!
I said I will make a rewrite but I gave up after three months of trying to write the second chapter. I will, one faithful day, make a rewrite but I decided to put that on hold for now.
I am back for now. I don't promise a lot of updates thou >.< I'm very busy with school and I have trouble writing stories nowadays.
It's like a curse and a blessing at the same time. If I don't put all my soul into what I write, then I won't write at all. To be honest I was a little nervous to post this... >.<"
