I'll put a separator so you'll see where it starts, in case you wish to skip it. The chapter ends there, so don't worry, you won't miss anything afterwards.
Also brief mentioning of panic attacks.
Hope you all enjoy this chapter. Don't forget to leave your thoughts, as I very much appreciate each and every single one of them :)

When you opened your eyes this morning, never once was it hinted at you that this might be the craziest day you were ever going to experience. The highs and lows of this roller coaster was naturally emotionally taxing.
Coming here to Dressrosa with one plan in mind, turned into a life changing experience for everyone involved. From finding out that your supposed dead lover was actually alive and well, to finding the dark secrets of this country and other secrets revolving your family drama (that you still can't wrap your head around) made you go dizzy.
And unfortunately, you weren't the only one.
It wasn't long after the fight with Fujitora that Ace started to look extremely weakened. The exertion from the fight had took a large toll on his body. After all, it's been a while since he had used his devil fruit powers to this much extent after the war.
You didn't notice it at first, but when he started to reply less and less to you, slowly becoming pale in the face and slowly out of breath, it raised an alarm in your head. But, by the time you sprang into action, Ace began to waddle, and before you could even process what was going on, he fainted, barely managing to catch his head before he hit the ground.
Sabo, who was still on the call with Koala a few meters away, heard the a strange noise, followed by your screams in horror as you tried anything to wake up Ace. He hang up on Koala, and immediately ran to your side.
"I don't know what to do." You cried hysterically. Although you were well aware of Ace's condition, your panicked mind could only think of the worst possible scenario.
Sabo, who wasn't a doctor himself, but knew a few things about first aid, spread right into action.
With tears in your eyes, you watched Sabo check Ace's vitals. With one hand, you held tightly onto Ace's, and with the other, you stroked his hair gently, praying nothing serious was going on.
"He most likely overdid it. He fainted but right now, he's just sleeping. His body is tired, he needs rest." Sabo finally said, rubbing his hand onto your back in a reassuring manner.
"Marco is here on the island as well. We need to find him. He's the one who nursed him back to health this entire time. He knows exactly what to do."
"Yeah but finding him in all this chaos is the problem here. We need to take Ace to a safe place for the time being."
Although Sabo hanging up on her, wasn't something new for Koala, the tone he used when he did it raised a few alarms. It bothered her, so Koala ran up above, after him, to see for herself exactly what was going on.
Finding you crying, hunched over Ace as you held onto his hands wasn't the sight she expected.
"What happened?" She immediately asked, running over to Sabo who was clearly in a better mind state than you were.
"Nothing to worry about for now." He replied with a reassuring smile. Looking back at your distressed state however wiped the smile right off. Koala couldn't help but pay only half of her attention to him as he explained in detail the events that just occurred. "She's overwhelmed. We need to find a safe place for both of them. (Name) might be conscious but she's in no state to fight. She's probably running on pure adrenaline right now."
"She briefly mentioned to me everything that has happened since we got separated this morning. It's too much. But even so, finding a safe place anywhere in this country is impossible. Or at least, not with that birdcage still around."
And while the two discussed the best options they had, you on the other hand, was experiencing a panic attack for the first time in your life.
Koala noticed it right away and immediately came by your side to work you through it.
It was the most horrible three minutes of your life. You were fortunate to have calmed down from it, in such a short amount of time. Koala worked you through it, whispering encouraging and reassuring words to you. And before you knew it, you could breathe normally once more.
"Thank you." You managed to say once your heartbeat worked itself back to normal.
After losing Ace two years ago, you never thought you'd ever see him again. After all, he was dead. Usually, dead people stay as they are - dead. And altough you knew all about Ace's mysterious recovery back to life itselfs, your mind just couldn't help, but remember the incident that occurred two years ago at Marineford. Seeing him in such a weakened state only reminded you of the nightmares you used to have back when you learned about his death. It reminded you of all the grief you endured during that time period, and that you still do, up to this day.
And before you knew it, the weight of all these emotions, crushed you, to the point the panic attack started to manifest.
"Hack is gonna look for Marco. For now, let's find a place for the two of you to rest." Sabo said, putting a hand on your shoulder. Koala who was still by your side, rubbing your back, helped you stand up.
And so, here you were, inside this abandoned house Sabo managed to find. It was sucluded and safe from all the fighting. It was small but it was exactly what you needed. You were far away from the battle but still close enough not to worry about the birdcage.
Ace rested on the bed while you had a chair pulled up next to it. You still held onto his hand, checking every minute that he was still breathing. Somehow, this reminded you of your week as a mother. You couldn't get a wink of sleep because you were so anxious for your baby. This time around however, you were dealing with a much bigger baby.
Your eyes traveled from his fingers, to his arm and up to his chest. The wound that laid on there served as nothing but a reminder of his death.
Shaking your head slightly, you moved your eyes away from his chest to his face. He was soundly asleep, probably not even realizing the worries you carried for him. Much as you remembered, his face was covered in freckles. The most prominent one was your favorite - the one on the right cheek. Your son also had one in the same spot.
The door opened all of a sudden, making you slightly jump, not expecting any visitor. When you turned your head around, you were greeted by none other than Marco.
"Sabo briefly told me what happened." He said as he held his hand up as a greeting. "Though I have to say, I didn't expect this trip to be so eventful."
You smiled slightly.
"You have no idea." You said quietly as he came closer to the bed, where Ace was currently sleeping in.
"Well, I can't say I didn't expect this much. This is Ace after all. At the end of the day, he always does whatever he wants, even if that means going against the doctor's orders." He shook his head as he began to examine him.
And as he began to check if everything was in order, Marco sneaked a few glances at you, and then quickly diverted them back to his patient.
"So you met with Sabo?"
"Yeah well, it's sort of a long story." He chuckled nervously. "You see, I was turned into a toy."
"Wait what?!"
"Only for a few minutes. After I turned back to normal, I found myself somewhere underground. And while looking for an exit, I met this fishman named Hack. Turns out he was part of the Revolutionaries and he had a mission. Helped the guy out, and before we could even leave the place, he gets a call from this Sabo dude that, get this, his brother Ace is in a bad shape and that he is looking for me. I had no idea Ace had another brother!"
"Yeah, well he was assumed to be dead..." Your voice died out at the last part and the both of you stared at Ace. "Seriously, what's with these brothers anyways? Why do all of them have the same story?"
Marco began to laugh as he pulled up a chair next to you.
"Well, judging by the fact he faced off an Admiral, Ace is in a pretty darn good condition." He explained after he finished checking up on him. "A good night rest should do it. But if I'm gonna be honest, I'm more worried for you, than for him."
That statement surprised you. You looked at Marco, confused at what he was hinting at.
"Why is that?"
"You honestly think you can hide all those pent up emotions from me? Two years might have passed but you're still the same (Name), ya' know?"
You didn't say anything, too afraid to act up on emotions again and start crying. You were done crying over this. You already talked thing over with Ace, so why were you feeling like this anyways?
"Two years ago, Ace was saved from his fate. Although his injuries should've killed him, he was saved by this mystery woman. No one knew who she was, or where she came from. But she used up her powers and before we even knew what was going on, Ace was breathing once more. Medically - no, humanly speaking, this was impossible.
Shanks seemed to know the woman. It was when I finally got to see her face, that I remembered. She was once part of Gold Roger's crew back in the days when I was still nothing more but an apprentice. But you know what? When I saw her face, that the first thing that popped into my head, was not the crew she was once in, but you."
Although you already seen everything, thanks to the last bits of power your mother manifested, you were still surprised that Marco managed to put the two and two together. Especially when he never seemed to be interested in your family lineage.
"Her powers were something I never got to know, even as a child. She kept her abilities hidden, probably to protect me. But the thing she used on Ace was the ultimate technique of this ability of hers. She linked her life force to Ace. And while Ace slowly recovered, she was slowly withering away. No wonder that I when found her, she hanging around doctors all day."
"You've met her?"
"Long story. Maybe another time."
A few minutes of silence followed afterwards. It was nothing awkward about it. After all these years, you and Marco still remained good friends, and for that, you were honestly thankful.
"From what I managed to gather, you also became a mother?"
A grin finally appeared on your face.
"Yes. To the most handsome little man."
"Honestly, it suits you. Not sure about Ace though. You might have to keep an eye on both of them now, not just your son."
The two of you began to laugh.
"Hey, I'm literally sitting right next to you." A voice interrupted your laughter.
"Well would you look at that! Welcome to the land of living." Marco said as he helped Ace slowly stand up straight on the bed.
"Ace!" You immediately jumped into his arms, hugging him tight.
"Woah! Easy! I still feel like I've been in a wreak." Ace managed to say through the tight space between his face and your chest.
"You asshole! I was worried about you! I was ready to kill you if you died!"
"That's not how it works..." Marco mumbled, but smiling nevertheless at the two of you.
Ace was quick to give him a glare, which only made Marco grin even more.
"Yes, yes, I will be on my way." He said as he stood up from the chair and slapped his friend on the back. "So much for worrying about you. I expect a nice gift after all of this." He mumbled as he finally exited the room, still, with a smile on his face.
After finally releasing him from your grip, Ace was finally able to breathe again. Looks like you weren't joking on the killing part.
"You're such an asshole! Don't do that to me ever again!" You yelled at him once again.
"I am very sorry." Ace bowed in respect, which only managed to anger you further.
You stared at him silently for the next minutes that followed.
You didn't mutter a word, but you served him the food Koala made for you, while she was still here, changed his old bandages and even rearranged his pillows. Ace was conflicted about the whole thing. He knew you were still mad, after all why go to the extent to be so quiet. Not to mention the glares he received from you when the two of you made eye contact.
Yet somehow, despite all the anger you had at him, you still cared for him. Ace couldn't help but, every time you did something for his sake, to smile.
"What are you smiling about?" You finally said, getting more and more annoyed with every second.
Ace finally couldn't hold it in and began to laugh out loud.
"It's just - " he continued to laugh. "You're amazing, you know that?" Ace finally managed to say a proper sentence without being interrupted by his own laughter.
"Yeah, whatever." You blushed, pushing him away. "You really can't take things seriously, even for a second, can you? Here I am, mad at you, and you start laughing at me!" You crossed your hands and turned your head away from him.
Ace shook his head and grabbed your hands. That made you turn your head back at him. He continued to smile, brighter than ever. With one hand, he began to stroke your hair as he pulled you in closer to his face.
"I'm sorry." He apologised, seriously this time. "I realized after the fight with Fujitora that I'm a rather selfish person."
"Damn right you are!"
"Let me finish." He shushed you, gently rubbing your reddened cheeks. "My choices, up until now, had only hurt you. I plan on changing that. I swear to you that from this point on, I'll try my best to be the man you should've fallen in love with to begin with. And a good father to Kou too."
You paused for a second. A gentle smile appeared on your face.
"You're so cute sometimes, Ace. But you're wrong." Ace looked at you confused. "You don't have to change, because the man I've fallen in love and currently love are a the same person. You." You gently tapped your index finger onto his chest. "So you're wrong. And you're not selfish. You're a pirate, for god's sake. Sure, sometimes you act on your emotions, and that can cause major problems but you're not alone. That's why me, Marco, Sabo, Luffy - that's why we are all here for you. I'm not perfect and neither are you. We're humans with flaws but that's what love means. Accepting that person for who they are, with flaws and all."
Ace was left speechless. At one point you even thought he was gonna to start crying, but all of a sudden he pulled your face closer to his. His lips instantly touched your and before you knew it, you both fell into the temptation of passion.
× both hands on your phone, you sinners ×
His hands slowly reached under your shirt, not to pull it away from you completely, but to touch your skin. He felt like he was deprived from your touch, like a wild animal being caged for years. All these emotions that had pent up over the years were now let loose.
Your hands went through his hair, either to pull him closer or to just feel him - you didn't know at that time and neither did you care. All that was on your mind was his touch.
Finally, after the two of you parted to get some air, you noticed the temperature change in the room. You suddenly began to feel self-aware as Ace stared at your lips. You felt the hairs on your neck lift as his hand made little circles under your shirt. It didn't take long before you pulled him into another kiss.
This time, the kiss wasn't as gentle as the other one. Though the first kiss was also fueled by these primal emotions, this one however felt more urgent. The grip you held onto each other was also tighter. Though you had no where to go, Ace held you as if you were about to slip away from his arms.
His lips moved from your lips down to your neck, and finally, they reached places you've long desired to be touched once more.
He used his fire power to quickly rip apart your shirt. Neither did you notice, or care. All you wanted was for him to touch you.
And while he was occupied with the shirt, your hands traveled from his hair, to his chest and finally down to his belt. You pulled onto it slightly, trying just as fast to remove it.
"Ace." You whimpered slightly as he began to leave a trail of small kisses down your shoulders. You felt his smirk form, and if you weren't so drunk on all these emotions, you would've definitely had something to say about it.
"Attagirl." He said quietly as he went up to your ear. You shivered a little as he got closer to your neck.
It wasn't long until all clothes were discarded and left somewhere on the ground.
When he began to lean onto you, slowly pushing you down the bed, you began to remember the reason why you were here to begin with.
"Ace, you are hurt." You said reluctantly, not really wanting to stop, but at the same time, also not wanting to cause any further injuries to him.
He shook his head and kissed your cheek.
"Nope. Not happening. I've waited too damn long to feel your skin onto mine again." He slightly slapped your tights, making you jump a little.
"Ace!"
"You just keep saying my name. And while you're at it, I'll just have to show you exactly how sorry I am for leaving you."
The look on his face told you that he was serious about it. And this time, he was going to hold onto that promise.
He began to play with your breasts for a while. Your entire body was sensitive, deprived of touch and felt as if it was on fire. Every place he touched, whether it was with his mouth or hands felt like ice on your burning flesh.
And while you were focused on his mouth that seemed to have taken an interest in your nipples, his hands slowly began to travel down your belly, to your hips and finally to the source of the fire.
You let out a moan and immediately grabbed onto him. He detached himself from your chest and finally kissed you once more. Your tongues danced with one another. You let out a gasp and then a couple more as you felt his fingers slowly enter you.
You stared into each other eyes as he completely possessed all of your being. He began to pick up the pace and that's when your head dropped completely onto the bed. You arched your back slightly, to push yourself further onto him. His other hand slightly held onto your hip, to give further support and you began to feel as if you were floating.
And then he suddenly stopped. You were about to protest but then his mouth connected to the place you were aching to have him the most.
You let out a loud gasp and immediately held onto his hair. You were seeing stars and yet he hadn't touched you that much yet. You weren't sure anymore if you truly could keep up until he was satisfied with his apology.
All you knew was that you already forgotten what he was even apologising for.
His name left your lips once more, but this time it was much louder. His tongue touched places you could only dream to be touched. And finally, that fire that kept on burning grew even larger, completely enveloping you.
Your release took a larger toll on you than it normally should. And despite already feeling like you had stayed up all night already, you knew this was only the beggininng.
As if something had taken over you, you pulled Ace away from your thumping core and kissed him will all your might. Sneakily you positioned yourself in a way such that you could escape his grip, and sure enough you succeed.
He didn't complain however. Quite the contrary as his member began to twitch a little at the sudden friction with your skin.
"Lemme take care of you, Ace." You said as you kissed his soft lips.
"What a little minx." He whispered as you lowered yourself down.
He let out a couple of curses as you played around with him, teasing him. And while he was a patient man with you, this time not so much. He tugged onto your hair slightly to pull you away, despite your complains.
He began to chuckle at your willingness to please him, but tonight he wanted to make it all about you.
You finally gave up, pouting. He pulled you in for a kiss once more.
Ace decided to have it your way. He pulled you onto his lap and immediately understood the assignment. You caressed his chest, your hands slowly moving down to where the two of you were about to connect and finally pushed him inside you without a struggle.
Both of you gasped at the feeling.
You began to move slowly, taking him in completely, feeling his very being. Then you began to pick up the pace, the fire taking completely over you once more.
You two moved together. You never wanted it to end.
The moves began to feel more primal. Ace grew impatient despite your best efforts and flipped you under him.
He continued to thrust into you with all the energy he got. But the way your breasts moved with every thrust and the way you called out his name as he reached places you didn't think were possible to reach, ignited the fuel of his passion.
His thrust began to falter as your moans grew louder and your nails digged into his shoulders. He pulled you into a kiss once more.
He was close but so were you.
Finally the two of you reached your climax. You let go of his shoulders and gasped as you felt your entire body tense at the overwhelming feeling.
"Fuck." Ace gasped as he pulled out and released all over you.
You closed your eyes, letting go to the feeling and riding it. You gripped onto his arm, and almost immediately he began to lower himself to you. He began to leave kisses everywhere.
"What a good girl." He said before finally kissing you on the lips and pulling you into his arms.
You stayed like that for a while. Listening onto each other's heartbeats. You felt sweaty but you were too tired to care. All you wanted was to stay like this forever.
But Ace had other plans for you.
His hands began to travel down between your legs once more, and you quickly looked at him.
"What-"
"Don't look so shocked now. I said I'll show you just how sorry I am."
Yes, you should've figured it out by now - how deep rotted his promises were once made.
And that afternoon, neither of you rested as you initially planned, as you lost yourself into the abyss of passion and desire.
