Dragon Age is set in the diverse world of Thedas created by BioWare. The video games follow various heroes, such as the Hero of Ferelden, Hawke, the Inquisitor, and Rook. The world is a mix of dark and high fantasy, with races such as humans, elves, dwarves, and Qunari. Magic, gods, rich world history, and epic battles all help to make Thedas a great place to explore as a writer and reader.

Though Dragon Age began as a video game series (RPG), it has expanded into other media types. It's best known for its deep storytelling, meaningful choices that impact the narrative, and lively cast of diverse characters. The series takes players through various crises that have lasting effects on the fictional world's history. Politics, rich lore, religion, cultures, war, Blights, rebellion, factions, old gods, and so much more give depth to this world, making it a great place for writers and readers to get lost in. Some of the most notable conflicts in which the game is centered around include (but not limited to) The Fifth Blight, the explosion of the Chantry in Kirkwall, the Templar-Mage Rebellion, The Breach, The Elder One, and the return of the Dreadwolf.
