Euni closed her eyes tightly, ready to brace her fate but suddenly she felt a cold hand around her wrist and her body was hanging in the mid-air. She slowly opened her eye to have a glimpse of the person who protected her.

"ShingShing!" Euni mumbled while her brows almost disappeared into her hairline.

"Miss Zhang." Shing smiled as she helped Euni to stand up. "I thought you need my help."

"Who are you?" Wuxian stepped forward, looking at Shing with suspicious eyes.

"She is my best friend." Euni blurted out. "Her name is Shing."

"Greetings young master." Shingshing bowed before Wei Wuxian to show respect.

"Since my best friend is here, she can take care of me." Euni smiled while ShingShing held Euni supporting her.

"But..."

"Wanyin gege, I trust her." Euni cut Jiang Wanyin's words and put her arm around ShingShing's shoulder. She looked at Shing who was staring at her for her next order. "Take me to Gusu." Euni smiled.

"Sure, Miss Zhang." Shing smiled and bowed to the seniors before walked away slowly.

When she went to some distance such that she couldn't even have a glimpse of the seniors, she turned towards ShingShing who was helping her to walk.

"ShingShing, how did you come here? How did you know that I am here? H-how did you get converted into a human?" Euni bombarded her with questions.

"Master, calm down." ShingShing chuckled. "I already stay near you so that I can help you if you are in danger. Secondly, you summoned me from the bottom of your heart, so I came to you. Thirdly, I got converted to humans because you summoned me from deep of your heart and you were in huge pain. So your ShingShing couldn't help but convert into a human." She explained.

"Thank you so much ShingShing." Euni smiled while her eyes became glassy as a layer of tears covered her eyes. "I don't know what I will do without you."

"Master, I think we should reach Gusu as soon as possible so that you can take rest. It looks like you hurt your ankle badly." ShingShing said in a soft voice.

"How can we reach early? My leg isn't in good condition." Euni sighed as she glanced at her companion.

"Master, perhaps you forgot that I can transform into a snake as well." ShingShing giggled. "Command me so that I can convert into a snake and take you to cloud recesses as soon as possible."

A big smile formed on Euni's face, seeing how caring her little pet was. "Transform into a snake, ShingShing," Euni said and the next moment the beautiful girl transformed into a gigantic white snake. Euni smiled like a kid as she extended her hand to caress ShingShing's soft, cold body.

As ShingShing lowered her head, Euni slowly climbed up and sat on the snake's hood. When ShingShing felt that her master sat safely, she lifted her hood and started to move as quickly as she can, so that they could reach Gusu as soon as possible.

"Are you sure that A-Ni will be safe?" Wanyin nudged Wuxian who was walking beside him.

"I think so," Wuxian replied in a cold voice. "If something happens to A-Ni, that girl won't survive."

"I am worried about her." Jin Ling pouted while looking at Wuxian.

"There is no use of looking at me, Jin Ling. Ask Zhiquiang for an explanation." Wuxian glared at Zhiquiang. "If he didn't act rude with her, then this won't have happened." He huffed while continuing his walking.

"I-I am sorry," Zhiquiang said remorsefully while his gaze was stuck at the ground.

"You should say sorry to her, Zhiquiang!" Wuxian snarled. "Because of you, today she felt so helpless. I saw the pain in her eyes when she refused to take our help. The words which she said about walking alone on a lonely path, I know how painful those words are. Because I too once walked on a lonely path all alone." Wuxian's voice trembled as the painful, past memories flooded in his mind.

"Wei Ying." Wangji held Wuxian's hand gently, trying to make him feel alright.

"I am okay Lan Zhan." Wuxian let out a deep breath and turned towards Lan Zhiquiang. "Zhiquiang, it won't hurt your pride if you took the first step towards her. Now don't deny that you have feelings for her." He said when he saw Zhiquiang hesitating to agree at his words. "She may look strong and carefree from outside but she is very much fragile. You shouldn't hurt her like that."

"I am sorry Senior Wei." Zhiquiang looked at Wuxian with apologetic eyes.

"It's okay," Wanyin said. "After reaching to cloud recesses, make sure to meet her and ask for forgiveness."

"Mn." Zhiquiang nodded.

"Senior Wei, do you think Zheng Wei is really good?" Jingyi asked while munching on peanuts which he bought in the city.

"As a boy, he is perfect for Euni. He is caring and protective of her." Wuxian smiled. "At first I didn't like him but now it looks like he is better than Zhiquiang."

"Wangji did the snake complete came under your control?" Zewu Jun asked while walking beside his brother.

"Not yet," Wangji replied. "After reaching cloud recesses, we have to control it."

"I cannot understand one thing," Zizhen said scratching his head. "How come Euni knows how to play the flute? Did you teach her, senior Wei?"

"No." Wuxian let out a deep breath. "I was wondering the same. At first, I thought she knows how to use demonic cultivation like me but the way she played the flute and the tunes clearly show that she isn't associated with demonic cultivation." He explained. "Instead she uses a soft piece of music to control evil beings. Her style is more or less like Zewu Jun. Isn't it, Zewu Jun?" He glanced at Wangji's brother.

"Yes." Zewu Jun smiled. "Her style of playing the flute is soft yet powerful. I want to play my xiao with her flute one day."

"I think we should walk quickly. I am worried about Zhang Euni." Sizhui said in a worried tone.

"Mn." Wuxian nodded.

When ShingShing reached the outskirts of Gusu, Euni stopped her and commanded her to transform into a human so that no one could doubt her. With the help of ShingShing, Euni walked slowly and entered inside the cloud recesses. Once Euni entered her room, ShingShing quickly took off Euni's shoes and slowly lifted her legs so that she could put them on the bed.

"What are you doing?" Euni asked when she saw ShingShing sitting on the floor with her hands on the bed.

"You need to apply for medicine on the wound, Master," ShingShing said while taking out a small green potion from her white robes. "This medicine will help to cure your wound within 3 days." ShingShing smiled as she poured a little amount of the medicine on her hand and gently messaged it on Euni's wound.

As the liquid got spread on Euni's skin, a chilly sensation dissipated at that place, making Euni feel the solace. ShingShing looked up to find her master resting her head on her palm while her eyes remained closed and she was resting her body against the pillow.

"Does it hurt Master?" ShingShing asked while moving her fingers in a circular motion around the sprain.

"It feels good ShingShing." Euni opened her eyes. "Tell me something, why do you call me master instead of miss?"

"Because master sounds good." Shingshing giggled.

"ShingShing ah ShingShing, you are making me feel like a male." Euni pouted.

Before ShingShing could say anything, a sudden knock on the door grabbed their attention. Euni froze for a moment, unable to understand what to do next. She quickly looked at Shing and commanded her to turn into a snake. No sooner had Shing transformed into a snake than Euni asked her to disappear from there.  After making sure that there was no trace of Shing in the room, she took a deep breath.

"Come in," Euni said gently, hoping that person to be Wei Wuxian. The door slowly opened and Zhiquiang entered her room. "You!" Euni at once sat straight in her position. "I don't welcome strangers. Please leave!" Euni said in a cold voice while looking away from Zhiquiang.

"Euni please." Zhiquiang looked at her with apologetic eyes.

"Please what?" Euni snarled. "As far as I remember we aren't so close that you can enter my room like that. Now leave, please."

"I am sorry Euni." Zhiquiang knelt before her, hanging his head down. "I know I made a mistake. I am really sorry. I didn't mean to be harsh on you." He looked up to face Euni. "I-I was so nervous about carrying you on my back and acted like a jerk. I am really sorry Euni." Tears formed in his eyes when he saw no sign of forgiveness in Euni's eyes. "You can give me any punishment you want, I am willing to accept it."

"Any punishment?" Euni arched her brow.

"Mn." Zhiquiang nodded eagerly.

"Really?" Euni bent down so that her face was at Zhiquiang's face level, keeping a few inches distance between them. "Will you really accept any punishment?" She whispered while her gaze was fixed on him.

"Y-yes." Zhiquiang stammered at the sudden closeness.

"Then you need to bring the butterflies which light my room at night," Euni said and moved back, adjusting comfortably on the bed.

"Huh?" Zhiquiang gaped at her words.

"What!?" Euni chuckled. "Close your mouth or else flies will fly into your mouth."

Before Zhiquiang could say anything, the door suddenly opened and few lan clan students entered.

"Sorry for entering but please come fast. The seniors cannot control an enormous snake." One of the students said.

"What!?" Euni's eyes widened. "How's it possible!? We made it dormant."

"I think it woke up. We need to go." Zhiquiang immediately stood up. "Can you walk, Euni?"

"Yes." Euni stood up. "I can." She said. Thanks to ShingShing for helping me and applying for the medicine otherwise I couldn't be able to stand like this.

They quickly rushed to the room where the seniors were handling the snake. The door remained closed. Zhiquiang lifted his hand in the air and drew some symbols using his first two fingers of the right hand. A blue symbol appeared in the air and Zhiquiang pushed it with a force, as a result, the door opened at once.

No sooner had the door opened than Euni and Zhiquiang entered the room and the door got closed again.

"A-Ni!?" Wuxian exclaimed when his eyes fell on Euni who was standing beside Zhiquiang.

"Wei Ying!" Wangji yelled as the gigantic green snake attacked Wei Wuxian, throwing him to the nearby wall.

"Wei Wuxian!" Jiang Wanyin exclaimed. He touched his ring and he was about to use his Zidian, Xichen stopped him.

This is going out of control. It looks like I have to use the blood spell. Euni's brows got knitted together as she realized that it was impossible to control it without using the spell.

Euni took out a talisman and her lips quivered. The next moment her talisman transformed into a green sparkling talisman and she threw it towards the green snake to divert its attention. As the talisman touched the snake, it turned aggressively towards Euni while the latter already took out her flute to face the snake.

"Wei gege, please use your flute Chenqing," Euni said as she lifted her flute.

Wei Wuxian nodded and took out his flute. He started to play a violent tone and black smoke started to form around him. That stirred the snake's temper. It started to thrash around and as a result, it's tail hit juniors, causing them to fall down at the distant corner of the room.

"Wei gege, stop playing the music!" Euni yelled as she sensed that the music caused a negative effect on the snake and instead of calming down, it became more violent.

She was about to play a tune in her flute, the snake pushed her with a huge force. As a result, her fragile frame flew into the air before hitting on the wall. Euni fell on her back, causing a sudden pain on her waist. Before she could stand up, the snake raised its hood and was about to attack Euni, the snake suddenly fell on the side with a loud thud. As Euni looked at the direction to figure out what had just happened, her eyes widened while her jaws slacked when she saw an enormous white snake standing in front of her, protecting her from the fearsome green snake's gaze.

"ShingShing!" Euni mumbled while her eyes almost popped out of her sockets.

"Euni." Zhiquiang quickly ran to her and helped her to stand up. "Are you okay?" He asked while holding her arm.

"Yes, I am," Euni said while her eyes were fixed on ShingShing.

The next moment, the enormous green snake raised its hood while showing it's sharp fangs. The white snake stood like a protective wall before Euni. As the green snake was about to strike Euni, the white snake pushed it, causing it to fall again.

"ShingShing, lower yourself!" Euni commanded in an authorize voice and the next moment the white snake lowered herself so that Euni could mount on it. Once the snake lowered herself, Euni jumped on its hood and stood on it. "ShingShing, make the green snake tired first."

ShingShing nodded lightly and rushed towards the green snake. The green snake was about to attack the White snake, the latter efficiently dodged the attempt. Continuing this dogging for few more minutes, the white snake pulled itself back as the green snake already looked tired.

A triumphant smirk appeared on Euni's face as her plan was executed perfectly. "ShingShing, take me near to its eye," Euni commanded and the white snake swiftly moved towards the eye of the enormous green snake.

Before the green snake could understand what was going on, Euni took out her sharp knife and cut her palm. As the blood started to ooze out, she threw her hand with a huge force towards the snake. As a result, the blood got spilled into the snake's eyes. As soon as the blood touched the snake's eyes than it started thrashing around.

"ShingShing moved back!" Euni commanded and the white snake moved back and stood beside Zhiquiang. Euni jumped from its hood while Zhiquiang helped her to stand up without stumbling.

Suddenly the white snake went to the green snake who was still thrashing around. The white snake wrapped itself around the green snake while the latter calmed down, leaving the people in the room flabbergasted.

What is going on!? Euni's brows got knitted together while witnessing the scene before her.

The next moment, the green snake turned into a white snake and both the snakes turned towards Euni who was still in a daze. Suddenly the snakes started to move towards Euni.

"ShingShing," Euni called out but it looked like it fell on deaf ears. The snakes moved forwards while Euni walked backward. Wangji was about to use his zither, Euni raised her hand in the sir, signaling Wuxian not to do anything. Abruptly, the snakes stopped and lowered their heads before Euni.

"Master!" The snakes uttered together while Euni's eyes sparkled with excitement as she succeeded in capturing the snake. With a big smile, she lifted both her hand and stopped in the midway, before touching the snakes' heads. The snakes looked at their master and moved their head, touching their heads to her soft palm.

"Both of you are mine, right?" Euni uttered excitedly.

"Yes, master." The snakes said in unison.

"Great!" Euni chuckled. "Then I will call your brother Shang, is it okay ShingShing." Euni smiled and the female snake nodded. "Shing and Shang, both of you, transfer into smaller snakes."

Suddenly the male name who was named as Shang lifted Euni up and put her on its hood after converting into a smaller snake while the female snake moved close to her master, showing it's love to her.

"Zhang Euni, you need to give us an explanation." Wei Wuxian said while crossing his arms across his chest.
