"You!!!" Zhiquiang blurted out as he stood protectively hiding Euni behind him.

"Bai Cheng!" A frown appeared on Euni's face as she recognized the person.

"Brother." The young kid ran towards Bai Cheng and hugged him. "This jiejie wanted to meet you."

"Princess? Lan Zhiquiang?" Bai Cheng looked at both of them with a smile on his lips.

"Don't you dare to call her princess!" Zhiquiang growled looking at Bai Cheng sharply. "Didn't you call her slut that day?"

"I apologized." Bai Cheng replied as if it wasn't a great deal.

"When?!" Zhang Euni asked as she stood beside Zhiquiang. "Even I defeated you that day, you never apologized to me."

"Jiejie, my brother never makes a mistake." The kid said holding Bai Cheng tightly.

A soft look appeared on Euni's face as she saw the innocent kid hugging his brother's leg. She smiled at him.

"Big brother, don't you want some toys to play with?" Euni asked kneeling to reach his height.

"Yes. I want." The boy nodded.

"Then go with this brother," Euni said pointing towards Zhiquiang. "He will buy you whatever you want."

"Euni, why are you doing this?" Zhiquiang asked, frowning. "Why should I go leaving you alone with this jerk?"

"Zhiquiang!" Euni immediately stood up. "I want to talk something with Bai Cheng. His brother is too young to know this." Euni whispered. "Please try to understand."

"Mn." Zhiquiang nodded. "You little kid, don't you want toys?" Zhiquiang smiled lightly.

"Brother, my name is SiJun." The kid pouted.

"Okay, SiJun, let's go now, "Zhiquiang said holding the kid's hand.

Euni smiled seeing Zhiquiang getting along with the kid. No sooner they went a few distance away, Euni turned towards Bai Cheng, looking at him with her eagle-sharp eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Euni asked with an extremely cold tone.

"What do you mean, princess?" Bai Cheng smirked.

"I asked WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Euni emphasized the words looking at him as if volcanoes would erupt through those sharp eyes. "Don't you dare to call me princess."

"Princess?" Bai Cheng looking at her as he never saw such a cold Euni before.

"Did you call me slut a few days back?" Euni asked with a strong gaze. "Did you insult me that I roam around with so many men?"

"I am sorry for that." Bai Cheng said as he got started by cold Euni. "I apologized to you that day."

"That day?" Euni chuckled bitterly. "Which day young master? That day when I defeated you? Didn't you just disappeared from there?"

"Zhang Euni, I am sorry. I really didn't mean to hurt you." Bai Cheng apologized looking sincerely at her.

"Do you know you are the first one to talk so rudely with me?" Euni's tone changed to a whimper tone. "Do you know how much it hurts? That day my robes were almost like a boy yet you said I look like a slut." She moved close to him. "Then what will you say today? Will you say that I am a whore?" A tear escaped her eyes.

"Zhang Euni, I was..."

"Brother..." The kid ran to Bai Cheng holding many toys in his hand. "The handsome brother bought me these." The kid then noticed tears in Euni's eyes. "Jiejie...why are you crying?"

"Euni? You are crying?" Zhiquiang just appeared the scene to find tears in Euni's eyes. "Bai Cheng!" Zhiquiang roared. "What did you do to her?"

"I didn't do anything, believe me." Bai Cheng said as his heart felt heavy seeing tears in Euni's eyes. "I didn't make her cry."

"Then are you saying she is faking it? Huh? Should I trust you more than her?" Zhiquiang's grip on his sword tightened.

"Zhiquiang." Euni held Zhiquiang's hand. "He didn't make me cry. I just..."

"You don't need to protect him," Zhiquiang said putting his hand on her hand. "Did he again say something bad to you?"

"No Zhiquiang." Euni tightened her grip around his hand. "I just became emotional."

"I am sorry Zhang Euni." Bai Cheng said kneeling before her. "I didn't realize that my words would hurt you that much."

"What are you doing Bai Cheng?" Euni said moving back. "Get up. Everyone is looking at you."

"Please forgive me Zhang Euni." Bai Cheng hung his head down. "I am really sorry."

"Okay, I forgive you," Euni said helping Bai Cheng to get up and stand on feet. "You didn't need to apologize in that way."

"Princess, I am sorry." Bai Cheng said feeling guilty as his sarcastic words brought tears in her eyes.

"Mn." Euni smiled.

SiJun, who was too young to understand, looked at his seniors. His gaze shifted from Euni to Bai Cheng and vice versa.

"Jiejie..." The kid said pulling Euni's long dress. "Did my brother make you cry and hurt you?" The kid asked innocently.

"Aiya big brother." Kneeling before the kid, she held by gently by his shoulders. "Your brother didn't make me cry. He is really good."

"You are right." The kid smile widely. "My brother is the best brother in the world."

Euni smiled at the kid's innocence. Zhiquiang was watching all this silently. Bai Cheng calling her 'princess' made his blood boil. Euni getting along with Bai Cheng and his brother SiJun made Zhiquiang even more mad. Though he was okay with SiJun, but Bai Cheng...he was the same guy who called Euni 'slut' that day when she and Wei Wuxian found him on the top of an abandoned house with their talismans.

"Princess." Bai Cheng smiled and this made Zhiquiang snap out of his daze. "Its already 4:30 pm, how about I will treat you with drink?"

"Thank you. But you are no..."

"Yes, please," Euni said cutting Zhiquiang's words, holding his hand tightly. "Lan Zhiquiang, please be reasonable for once. Why are you behaving so coldly with Bai Cheng and SiJun?" She whispered.

Zhiquiang rolled his eyes and didn't say anything. Bai Cheng smiled and guided Euni and Zhiquiang to the best drinking place while SiJun was walking in a cheerful mode holding Euni's hand.

"Bai Cheng..." Euni left Zhiquiang's side and walked beside Bai Cheng. "Do you know about any strange events happening nowadays?"

"Strange events like?" Bai Cheng questioned back.

"Something related to snakes or some dark powers," Euni said looking at Bai Cheng. Bai Cheng's smiling face suddenly turned into expressionless one. He looked at SiJun and then to Euni. She at once understood what Bai Cheng wanted to mean. "Big Brother SiJun..." Euni looked at the kid. "Can you please hold Zhiquiang's hand please?"

"Sure jiejie." The kid left Euni's hand and held Zhiquiang's hand.

"Princess, you already know I am myself a source of dark powers. I use demonic cultivation instead of normal one." Bai Cheng took a deep breath and looking at Euni while walking. "Will you believe me if I say I am not the cause of these events?"

"I do believe," Euni said confidently.

"How do you believe a stranger so easily, Miss Zhang?" Bai Cheng said leaning towards her. "

"Because your cultivation is not that strong," Euni said turning her head towards Bai Cheng, leaving a few inches gap between their faces. A half-moon smile played on her lips, adding more confidence to her determined face. Bai Cheng was so amused with Euni's confidence that he couldn't help but stare at Euni's pair of big beautiful doe eyes.

"Are you flirting with each other?" Zhiquiang said as if he got badly irritated, bringing back sense in Euni and Bai Cheng.

"Of course no, Lan Zhiquiang," Euni smirked. "I was just confirming something."

"Lan Zhiquiang, Zhang Euni, we are here." Bai Cheng smiled guiding them into an inn.

"Two orders for tea, one order for wine and one bowl of soup, please." Bai Cheng said politely to the waiter.

"Wait wait." Euni interrupted. "Order two wines. I am not drinking tea."

"What!?" Bai Cheng looked at Euni with disbelief in his eyes while the waiter looked at Euni as if he saw a ghost.

"What?" Euni said looking at Bai Cheng and the waiter. "Cannot girls drink wine?"

"She can drink wine," Zhiquiang said supporting her. "You can even order the strongest wine for her."

"Wow! The didn't expect princess to be this cool!" Bai Cheng smiled, amused by Euni's super talent. "Great! Change the order from one wine to two wines and two tea to one tea."

"So, Bai Cheng, you were telling about strange events here," Euni said as she changed her seat with SiJun and sat beside Bai Cheng.

"Yes..." Bai Cheng said taking a wine bottle in his hand. "The green snake is not a normal one but a spiritual creature. It is controlled by some power. I don't know what type of power it is but its very powerful. I tried to figure out about it but failed every time."

"Do you anything more?" Euni looked at Zhiquiang and diverted her gaze to Bai Cheng.

"On every Thursday, a few people in black are seen in Ling City during late night." Bai Cheng said pouring wine in his cup. "I saw them doing something in secret but never had the courage to face them."

"Bai Cheng..." Euni said drinking wine from her cup. "You are not a bad soul, why are you doing this?"

"I have no other way, Princess." Bai Cheng chuckled. "I am orphan and so is SiJun. I found him on the streets when he was 3 years old. He was crying so bitterly that I could help but take care of him." He said smiling faintly. "I don't have parents to take care of me. All I can do is work hard, use demonic cultivation and take care of little SiJun."

"Brother!" SiJun said in a low voice. "We are not orphans. I have you and you have me. Why are you sad?"

A faint smile appeared on Euni's face. Seeing that kid, a flash of memories appeared in her mind. She too never surrendered that she was orphan. She always tried to stay strong and smiled to cover all her pain. The only difference was that the kid had his brother while she had none.

"Big brother." Euni smiled. "Who said you are orphan? You have your brother, me and the handsome brother. We are like a family."

"Really?" The kid's eyes glistened. "We are a family now?"

"Yes." Euni smiled as she took the kid into her lap. "We are."

"Then can jiejie sing lullaby for SiJun tonight?" SiJun asked.

"SiJun!" Bai Cheng looked at his brother. "Don't make jiejie feel uncomfortable. She has work to do. She cannot sing lullaby for you."

"Bai Cheng it's okay." Euni smiled caressing the kid's hair. "I will sing a lullaby for you, okay?"

Zhiquiang glared at Euni all the time but not a once she bothered to look at him. She was so absorbed in chatting with the kid and Bai Cheng that she almost forgot that there was another person sitting in front of him. Zhiquiang suddenly felt something suspicious in the room. He felt as if a pair of eyes targeted Euni.

"Zhang Euni," Zhiquiang said cautiously. "Something is wrong here."
