"Who's it?" Lan Zhiquiang shouted.

There was dead silence. Euni subconsciously tightened her grip around Zhiquiang's sleeves. He softly patted her hand reassuring her that everything would be fine. After a few seconds, Zhiquiang felt a moment in the room and followed the sound. Suddenly noises of swords clash was heard. Within a few minutes, it stopped and it felt as if one person was chasing another. Euni closed her eyes and she couldn't see anything in the darkness. Closing her eyes, she put all her focus on the sound and movement of the two persons in the room. Abruptly she felt someone run fast beside her. Guessing the speed and running direction of the person, Euni threw her small pocket knife in the direction of that running person. From the sound, Euni understood that the person dodged her knife and escaped from the library pavilion. With few seconds, all candles got lit up as Zhiquiang used his fire talisman.

"Euni, are you okay? You didn't get hurt, right?" Zhiquiang said checking her.
"I am alright," Euni said coldly.

As the room got lit up, Euni went to one of the pillars where her knife got stuck to. When the person dodged the knife it got stuck to the pillar. She took the knife and examined it.

"Euni, how did you know that it wasn't me while throwing the knife? What if I got hurt?"
"Lan er gege, I know your every move. I am very familiar with your body movements. So I focussed on the movements which were unfamiliar to me." Euni smiled.

Suddenly she saw a book at the door. She quickly ran there and collected it.

"A book!?" Zhiquiang exclaimed.
"Mn." Euni nodded.

It looked like an old book. The cover of the book became yellow and almost torn. Euni flipped the book and opened a page.

"Aaaaaa."

Euni screamed and the book fell from her hand. She tightly held Zhiquiang's arm.

"It's okay. Don't be afraid. I am here." He said caressing her soft hair.
"Mn." She looked at him and moved a step away.

Zhiquiang took the book which fell on the floor. Seeing the page, Zhiquiang's eyes got widened as well.

"What is this!" Zhiquiang exclaimed.
"It's so scary." Euni closed her eyes tight.
"It looks like its a book with evil powers."
"Huh!? You mean dark powers?"
"No Euni. Evil powers are completely different from dark powers. I don't know much about evil powers but yet I can tell you that they are different."
"Hm." Euni nodded. "It means the person sneaked into the library pavilion just to steal a book?!"
"I am too wondering the same."
"Zhiquiang, let's check the shelf where books related to evil powers are kept."
"Why?"
"To know if the person stole something else or not."
"Mn."

After a long search, Zhiquiang and Euni discovered that two books were missing and those were books of evil powers.

"I still cannot understand why someone will steal books of evil power?" Zhiquiang wondered.
"Maybe someone wants to expertise in evil power and become more powerful than The Yiling Laozu," Euni said coldly looking at the book.
"Why they want so? Yiling Laozu is most powerful and no one can overpower him."
"Hm. I don't know. Zhiquiang, please don't tell anyone about today's incident. Not to evil Wei gege."
"Why?"
"I need to investigate in my own way."
"Investigate!? Euni, its the first incident, how can you do it?"
"It's not the first incident. It's the third incident. At first, I thought that was my illusion and now I am sure that someone must be plotting something."
"It's the third incident!? You never told me before."
"Sorry, Zhiquiang. I didn't even tell Wei gege. Well, let's go to our rooms. I will tell you on the way. But you have to promise that you won't tell this to anyone."

Euni smiled as they headed towards their rooms. On the way, she told Zhiquiang about the encounter of snake while collecting fireflies for him, the snake tattoo on the neck of one of the mem during the sudden attack. He listened to her every word carefully. He was holding the old evil powers book while Euni was holding the book regarding snakes. Soon they reached Euni's room. Euni quickly lit some candles. When Zhiquiang was about to leave, Euni interrupted him.

"Ahm...Zhiquiang, would you stay with me tonight?" Euni asked hesitatingly.
"Huh!?" Zhiquiang's jaws dropped and brows got vanished into his hairline.
"No no. It's not what I mean. I mean I am afraid of reading the book of evil powers alone. I want you to accompany me. Can you stay with me, please?" Euni pouted.
"Hm. Don't need to act cute."
"Thank you." Euni smiled tucking her long hair strands.

After entering Euni's room, Euni quickly took a hairpin and quickly tied her hair into a bun. Zhiquiang sat on the study area and started reading the book with evil powers. Meanwhile, Euni washed her face and removed her outermost robes. She was then wearing 4 layers. Then she joined Zhiquiang. He read the book of evil powers while she read the book dealing with snakes.

"Er gege...do you even understand a bit?" Euni yawned.
"I am trying. You can sleep first if you are feeling sleepy."
"No, it's okay." Euni yawned even more. "I think I am understanding things related to snakes."

Zhiquiang nodded and continued reading. After a while, he felt a weight on his shoulder. It was Zhang Euni. She fell asleep resting her head on Zhiquiang's shoulder. Zhiquiang smiled a bit. He thought of returning to his own room. As he moved a bit, Euni put her hand on Zhiquiang's shoulder where her head rested. It became impossible for him to leave her. He gently caressed her soft hair and rested reading the room. Soon he felt his eyelids and sleep invaded him.

It was Zhiquiang who woke up first. The gently sun rays fell on his eyes disturbing his sleep. As he opened his eyes, he could still feel the weight on his right shoulder. He saw Zhang Euni sleeping peacefully. A small curve of smile appeared on his lips.

"She sleeps like a baby," Zhiquiang mumbled tucking the hair strands which fell on her pretty face.

Suddenly Euni stirred in her sleep. Zhiquiang quickly closed his eyes pretending to sleep. Euni rubber her eyes and opened them gently. The first thing she saw was Zhiquiang's sleeping face. At first, she got startled. Later she remembered what happened the previous night.

"Sleeping peacefully." Euni mumbled, "Looks like cold prince during day time and sleeps like an innocent creature at night."

Euni smiled and got up. She quickly washed her face and got ready. She looked at that time and it was 4:55 am.

"Zhiquiang, wake up. I have to learn a sword fight from 5 am." Euni gently called.
"Hm?" Zhiquiang gently opened his eyes.
"Lan er gege, get ready quickly. And yes, hide this book. If old master Lan finds us reading this book, we will be doomed."
"Mn."

Soon they went to the place where they used to do the sword practicing. After that, they attended the classes. During the classes, Euni listened to every word of Lan Qiren carefully. She wanted to find dissimilarities between the good and evil powers. After the classes, Euni came out. Usually, she clung to Jingyi and Zizhen but that day she was walking alone.

"Hey, Zhang Euni, what's up? Are you upset?" Jingyi said walking beside her.
"No. I am okay." Smiled Euni.
"Don't lie to me. Your face says it all." Zizhen interrupted.
"I am perfectly alright Zizhen ge."
"Hm. Should I believe in you?"
"Yes. You have to." Euni said putting her hands on her hips.
"Ok ok." Zizhen smiled.

Euni, Zizhen, and Jingyi went outside the cloud recesses to play with rabbits and little apple.

"Hmmm...A'Ni, how are you?" Wei Wuxian entered the scene.

"Wei gege." Euni jumped like a bunny.
"Is everything alright? Did Zhiquiang did something wrong yesterday?"
"Nope. He just stay like a cold prince. Nothing else."
"So now you are playing with Hanguang-Jun's bunnies? Aren't you afraid that he would get mad at you?"
"Wei gege, I don't have any pet. What should I do?" Euni pouted?
"You can play with my Fairy." Jin Ling said as he came holding his Fairy
"Jin Ling?" Euni smiled.
"Was your punishment too severe?" Sizhui asked politely.
"No. It's not that severe. Just I lost interest in my life after copying the book of conduct. Wei gege, tomorrow we have no classes. Can we go out to have some fun?"
"A'Ni, why are you asking me?"
"Please Wei gege."

"If all of you want then I think we can go to Ling city tomorrow." A voice interrupted.

"Ha? Hanguang-Jun!?" Euni exclaimed.

Everyone bowed to him. Wangji came along with Zhiquiang, followed by Jiang Cheng and Zewu Jun.

"Wangji and I wanted to check that place if everything is alright. If you want then you can join us." Zewu Jun said with a smile.
"Really!?" Euni jumped like a kid.
"Can Sizhui and I join?" Jin Ling asked.
"Why do you always ask for Sizhui as well? We all know if you come he will come too." Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes.
"Yes, we all want to join."

All of the juniors said together. Zewu Jun smiled and allowed all of them. Finally, it was decided that they would leave for Ling city the next day at 6 am.

"Clan leader, our men failed to hurt Yiling Laozu."

A messenger said bowing to a person addressing him as clan leader. He was wearing dark green clothes and had a well-built figure. Looking from his looks, it looked if he was in his late 30s.

"What!?" The clan leader spat.
"We sent six men to attack them but none of them returned. All of them got destroyed."
"How is it possible!? They are my puppets. Yiling Laozu is not enough to destroy them. Only Zhang Euni and Yiling Laozu together have the power to destroy them. But as far as I know, Zhang Euni is still learning sword and doesn't know how to use powers."
"But Clan Leader, are you sure she doesn't know anything about powers?" The messenger trembled.
"You dare to cross my words!?" The clan leader shrieked and threw a blade.

The blade went through the messenger's stomach and fell flat on the pool of blood.

"Wei Wuxian, I will get you no matter what. Though my puppets didn't do anything to you, it doesn't mean that you are going to win next time. You are going to Ling city, right? Just wait and watch what I will do."
