"Zhang Euni..."

A voice called her name and a smile appeared on her face.

"Zheng Wei!!?"

Zhang Euni screamed as she ran to him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"I was just passing by and heard your voice. So I just came here."
"Hehe, glad that you came."

"Zhang Euni, you are hurt, I think you should take rest." Lan Zhiquiang said coldly.
"What!? Euni, are you hurt?" Zhang Wei took her hand into his palm.
"Ahaa...actually I sprained myself. Not a big deal." Euni laughed awkwardly.
"Silly girl!  You should take care of yourself." Zheng Wei playfully hit her head.

"Zhang Euni, I think you don't need me anymore. I am going then." Lan Zhiquiang looked at Euni with his cold eyes.
"Okay. Zhang Wei will help me. Bye."
"Mn."

Zhiquiang left the place. On the other hand, Zheng Wei helped Euni to get back to her room. It was 7:30 am and the classes would start at 9 am. So she sat in her room, looking at her sprained wrist and cursing it. Soon it was 9 am and Euni went for classes. Like the day before, the classes started with reciting 4000 Lan family rules so that the students wouldn't forget or miss the rules. This part makes Euni bored. She started yawning. She looked at her sides, Zheng Wei was nodding humming something, Jingyi was standing sleepily, Sizhui, Jin Ling and Lan Zhiquiang were listening to the rules. It lasted for 2 hours. But the next topic made Euni active again. It was about a golden core. First of all Lan Quiren asked the question 'what is golden core?'. At first, Zhang Euni thought of and wring but she stayed back. As a result, Sizhui answered the question. The next question was 'how will you know if the golden core formation is perfect?'. Sizhui wanted to answer but Lan Quiren stopped him. As a result, Euni raised her hand. So Euni got the chance. She answered correctly. Everyone clapped their hands as applause, even Lan Quiren got impressed with her. She looked at Sizhui and he smiled at her. She looked at Zhiquiang but he even didn't look at her. After the classes were over, Euni came out of the room with Jingyi and Zizhen.

"Jingyi, is Lan Zhiquiang upset?" Euni asked innocently.
"Why do you ask?"
"Because he even didn't look at me when I answered correctly."
"He is always like that. Cold Prince!"

No sooner Jingyi finished his words, Euni saw Zhiquiang passing by.

"Lan Zhiquiang, hello!"

Euni waved her hand. Zhiquiang side-eyed her and ignored her.

"Hey! Lan Zhiquiang! Are you mad at me!?"

Euni shouted. She was about to go towards Zhiquiang but Jingyi stopped her.

"Euni! Are you crazy!? Shouting is prohibited in cloud recesses. Do you want to get punished?" Jingyi said.

"Jingyi, did you see? Lan Zhiquiang clearly ignored me." Euni pouted.

"Maybe he is upset about something. Don't worry about him. You just take rest. By the way, how do know about the golden core?"

"I have read two books yesterday regarding the golden core. So I answered." Euni shrugged her shoulders.

"Wow! Our Zhang Euni is such a bookworm!" Zizhen said dramatically.

"Zizhen ge...don't tease me. I am not a bookworm." Euni pouted

"It's okay. Being a bookworm is a good thing."

After some time Euni retired to her room. She lazily laid on her bed. The only thought that lingered in her mind was, why Lan Zhiquiang was upset. Was he mad at her? Or...Zhang Euni sat up scratching her hair. Suddenly an idea came into her mind.

The next day, she had no classes. So she had planned something. She got up much early and sneaked out of cloud recesses at around 7 am. Her main goal was to collect fireflies, not for herself, but for Lan Zhiquiang and Wei Wuxian. Euni figured out that Lan Zhiquiang was mad at her. So to lift up his mood, she decided to gift his fireflies. And since Wei Wuxian was her Wei gege, so she would gift him. Soon reached a garden-like area. It was all pinkish in color with many butterflies in the pink flowers.

"Woah! These are so beautiful. I wish I could take them for Wei gege and Zhiquiang. But...butterflies sleep at night. Aishh...I can't take them."

Saying so she bend towards the butterflies and played with them. She didn't even keep an account of time. On the other hand in cloud recesses Jingyi started to search for Euni. At first, he thought that Euni was with Zheng Wei but later Zheng Wei informed him that he was also searching for Euni. Jingyi panicked as Euni was missing while Zizhen tried to make him calm. Later Zheng Wei told them that Euni must sneak out because she was not that type of girl who would left cloud recesses before informing them. Though Jingyi felt a little relief yet he was worried about her. Soon the sun baded goodbye and darkness started to invade the sky. The decrease of the brightness of light reminded Euni that she had to go to cloud recesses before 7 pm otherwise she would face huge punishment. So she quickly entered a forest. The forest was even darker than the normal atmosphere. At first, she became afraid of the darkness but as she set her feet in the dark forest, the bushes got disturbed and fireflies came out of them.

Euni's eyes widened witnessing the beautiful scenery. She started throwing pebbles at the bushes and more and more fireflies came out. She quickly caught some fireflies and put them in a jar which had small holes to allow oxygen for the fireflies.

While she was playing, suddenly she felt the presence of something. She turned around but found nothing. So she resumed playing. But within a few seconds, she heard a hissing sound. This time she decided not to neglect it. She stopped her body moments. Suddenly, a pale greenish snake with sharp fangs appeared for nowhere.

At first, Euni got started and moved a few steps back. The snake hissed and started to proceed towards Euni. Then she suddenly remembered about her flute. She took her flute from her sleeves and started to play a soft melody. At first, the snake stopped its movements. After a few seconds, the snake slowly moved away.

"That's it! Thank you, my little friend."

Euni smiled as she fondly caressed the flute before hiding it again in her sleeves. Then she quickly got out of the forest and headed back to cloud recesses. It was 8 pm when she reached the cloud recesses. She knew that she couldn't enter through the front gate. So she entered by jumping over a wall. First, she went to Wei Wuxian's room. She quietly tiptoed and gently opened the door. No sooner she opened the door, she heard a voice.

"Zhang Euni, you sneaked out of cloud recesses today?"

"Aiyaa...Wei gege, you noticed me?"  Zhang Euni pouted as she entered into the room.

"Of course I noticed. The entire place was quite. So it's easy to guess that you sneaked out."

"Wei gege, I sneaked out to bring something for you."

Saying so she opened her jar and few fireflies flew from the jar.

"Euni! You brought butterflies!?" Wei Wuxian's eyes almost popped out of his sockets.

"Yes, Wei gege. Now put out the candle."

Saying so Euni blew off the candles. The room completely became dark. The only light was provided by the little fireflies. It made the room look extremely beautiful.

"Wow! Euni, it's really amazing!" Wei Wuxian exclaimed.
"You like it?"
"I love it Zhang Euni. Thank you so much."
"Hehe. Wei gege, I need to go back to my room. Bye."

Saying so Euni carefully went out of the room so that the fireflies won't escape. Her next location was Lan Zhiquiang's room. She hid the jar in her sleeves so that no one could even see her in darkness. As she approached Zhiquiang's room, she decided to open the door and put the jar inside. But her went vain. Zhiquiang's room was darker than the moonless niga ht. So she opened the door slowly. No sooner she opened the door, a hand pulled and in. Suddenly she felt a sharp pain on her back as she was hit against the wall with both of her hands pinned above her head with a sword, a few inches away from her neck.

"It's me! Zhang Euni..." Zhang Euni screamed with her eyes closed tightly. Within a few seconds, she felt her hands were free and there was no sword at her neck. Still, she closed her eyes tightly breathing heavily. She felt as if someone lightened the room.

"Zhang Euni?"

A voice gently called her name. Euni slowly opened her eyes to Lan Zhiquiang standing in front of her. She looked at him.

"What are you doing here at this hour?" Zhiquiang asked.

"Well, I was just..."

"Did you sneak out? Are you spying?!"

"Hey! Zhiquiang, it's not that I am spying. And yes, I sneaked out. But it's because of you." Euni yelled.

Zhiquiang didn't say anything but watching her complaining like a little kid. A slight curve of a smile appeared on his lips.

"It's you who became mad at me. So I went out to bring you some fireflies. But look at me now, I landed into deeper trouble." Euni pouted.

"What!? You brought fireflies!?"

"Mn." Euni nodded as she took out the jar of fireflies from her sleeves. "Here, it's for you."

Zhiquiang took the jar and started to look at it keenly.

"Lan Zhiquiang first put out the candles."

"Why?"

"To see how beautiful these fireflies are."

Saying so Euni put out the candles and opened the jar. All the fireflies flew out of the jar and enlightened the room. Zhiquiang didn't say anything but he was mesmerized by the beauty of the fireflies. Euni smiled and looked at Zhiquiang. There was a feeble smile on Zhiquiang's face.

"Lan er Gonzi, do you like it?" Euni asked looking at him.

"Mn." Zhiquiang nodded and looked at her smiling face.

"Well, don't lose them. I had faced many difficulties while collecting them. And yes, you can keep the fly in your room and night, they will work as night lights."

"Are you afraid of darkness?"

"Mn." Euni nodded. "But don't worry, I never put out candle when I sleep. Well, I think I need to go back. I have to wake up early so that I must attend your sword classes."

"How will you go back?"

"By walking with my beautiful legs." Euni chuckled.

"Childish!"

"Hey, what's childish here? How will one go back? Just by walking."

"It's dark outside and you said you are afraid of the dark."

"Oh...thats, hehe...I think I can go back."

"Let me send you to your room."

"A-ah!? No no. You don't need to. I can go by myself."

Zhiquiang didn't say anything. He just went out the next.

"Hey! Lan er gege...wait!"

Saying so Euni started to follow Zhiquiang. Zhiquiang didn't like to talk much while Euni couldn't survive without talking. So she started the conversation.

"Lan er gege...were you mad at me?"

"Don't call me like that," Zhiquiang said coldly.

"Oh, hehe...Lan Zhiquiang were you mad at me?"

"..."

"Hey! Lan Zhiquiang don't ignore me okay?"

"..."

"Zhiquiang."

"..."

"Lan Quiang!"

Zhiquiang looked at her. It's because Lan Quiang was his birth name and no one dared to call him by his birth name before her. Even Hanguang-Jun and the elders used to call him Lan Zhiquiang.

"Aiyaa...er gege, don't look at me like that. It's your fault that you ignored me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have called you by your birth name."

"Mn."

"Hehe, glad that you are not mad at me anymore."

"We reached your room."

"Oh! Thank you for walking with me. Bye."

Euni waved her hand and went back to her room. After Euni entered into her room, Zhiquiang went back. The nextext day, Euni woke up a bit late. So she reached at the spot at around 5:30 am.

"Sorry for that late. Actually, I was..."

Euni's jaws dropped witnessing the scene. Zhiquiang and Jingyi were arguing and it looked as if they were arguing about something much serious thing. Euni went close to them.

"Zhiquiang, why do you always treat Zhang Euni like that?" Jingyi roared.

"I didn't," Zhiquiang replied coldly.

"You did. First, you gave her a scar on her upper arm and now you are ignoring her!"

"You are getting it wrong."

"What am I getting wrong huh?"

"Guys! Stop fighting! Why the main topic of arguing is me!?"

Euni interfered. At once both of the brothers looked at her.

"Euni, Zhiquiang is behaving so badly but you still smile," Jingyi complained

"It's okay Jingyi, he is always like that." Euni smiled.

"But you..."

"Sizhui gege!"

Without Jingyi could complete his sentence, Euni exclaimed watching an upset Sizhui coming towards them. She quickly ran to him.

"Sizhui gege, what happened? Why do you look so upset?" Euni asked innocently

"Jin Ling broke up with me," Sizhui replied in a broken voice.

"What!!!?"
