16-First Day
Later that day, while Louis lay on the living room floor scrolling through his phone, Harry decided it was about time he started moving all his boxes into his room. They were lying all around the house at the moment and he didn't like that.
He decided that he'd stack them neatly in his room as of now and when they purchased cupboards and other furniture, he'd unpack the boxes.
He was just carrying a box from the hallway to his room when Louis walked into the hallway, still peering into his phone and dashed into Harry for what seemedHarry like billionth time so far. The box fell from his hands and the contents spilled onto the polished, wooden floors of the hallway.
Harry was about to yell at Louis when he looked at the floor and saw what the box had contained and his mouth fell open, the blood rushing to his face immediately..
A bottle of lube, condoms and a.. vibrator.
Harry shrieked in horror and immediately began scooping up the things hurriedly shoving them back into the box that he had so carefully labelled ' ;) '
He stood up with the box in his hand holding onto it as though it were as dear as life itself and was almost afraid to meet Louis' gaze.
Hesitantly he raised his eyes to meet Louis' and saw that Louis stood there, having not moved even a single step, with an identical expression of shock on his face.
Harry looked back down, blushing even more.
Suddenly he heard a small giggle. He looked up and saw that Louis was clutching his stomach, laughing uncontrollably, having overcome the initial shock of what he had seen...
Harry softly smiled as he looked as Louis' face, noting how his eyes crinkled up when he laughed.
He soon snapped out of his daze and hurriedly pushed his way past Louis, deciding the sooner he put the box away the better.
He went into his room and closed the door, too embarrassed about what had just happened.
After what seemed like 5 minutes, Louis' laughs had still not subsided outside in the hallway and Harry opened his door slightly to chuck a clothes hanger at Louis' head before retreating back into his room and hurriedly shutting the door again.
About an hour later, Harry heard a soft, cautious knock on his door and walked up to open it with a sigh.
Louis stood outside, smiling sheepishly at him.
"I was wondering if maybe.. if you were free now,we could go get some furniture or something? We need it desperately" Louis began with caution.
Harry didn't want to go out at all today especially not after what happened earlier but Louis was right. The house was absolutely bare, they needed to get some basic stuff atleast or else where were they going to sleep at night!?
He nodded grudgingly, "Yeah I'm free, we can leave in 10 minutes but if you dare say a word about what happened earlier, I'll hit you on the head."
Louis nodded, biting his lip, suppressing a half-smirk, half-smile, "Thank god, a bum like mine wasn't made for sitting on these hard floors all day long" he muttered before walking away.
10 minutes later, the boys were on their way, with their budget listed on a piece of paper and a list of all the things they needed. Louis said they'd go there and figure it out but Harry insisted on the lists and Louis finally gave in after much grumbling.
They walked into the same furniture shop they had first met at, both realising together that they now had 2 sets of anchors and ropes to hang outside their apartment and simultaneously bursting into a fit of giggles.
As they walked into the store, they looked around, taking their time to explore options. They decided that they'd just do the basic shopping today as they could come back anytime for the little things.
They quickly picked out seperate beds for themselves, there being a wide disparity between their tastes, while Harry preferred everything to be light coloured, Louis preferred the darker shades which led them to have an argument among the sofa aisle.
"How the fuck are we expected to keep a white sofa clean, Harry? Be practical for heavens sake"
"I'm not going to have that ugly brown sofa in our living room, Louis, I'm very clear about that." The curly lad retorted.
"Brown will hide the stains Harry!!"
"What stains are you even talking about!?" Harry questioned, his mind beginning to wander..
"Food stains and stuff you idiot get your mind out of the gutter" Louis said half laughing.
Suddenly Harry moved to a sofa that had a tiny floral print on it, "How about this one?"
"Yeah that would be perfect..if we lived 50 years ago! I'm pretty sure my great grandmother had one exactly like that." Louis sassed.
"You're being of no help here" Harry complained.
The same salesman from the other walked in upon hearing their loud voices and tried to scurry away as quickly as he could when he recognised Harry and Louis but Harry got hold of him.
"Aren't you the same guy who helped us out the other day? Can you please help us again today? We can't decide on what sofa to get." Harry said putting on his best 'puppy face' and the salesman visibly softened and hurried forward to show him the sofas. Louis scoffed.
After an hour more of debating and arguing, they decided on a beige couch with red cushions.
When they went to the register ask for it to be delivered home, they were faced with a new difficulty.
Apparently the beds were too big to be delivered on such a short notice and could only be delivered by tomorrow afternoon and only sofa could be delivered by tonight.
Louis and Harry looked at each other in despair, Harry's butterflies beginning their familiar fluttering in his stomach again..
