5-Collision
Louis' POV
Louis scrunched his eyes, a small yawn leaving his mouth as the sunlight filtered through the window and fell on his face as he lay asleep.
He groaned, already feeling the signs of his hangover. His head was heavy, mouth felt a little woozy. He tried to sit up but there was an arm draped around his torso. Louis looked to see who it was this time and saw it was sone brunette chick.
Louis carefully disentangled his body from her hands and crawled out of bed as silently as he could. He looked around the alien bedroom wondering where on earth he was. And then the routine began.
He scrambled around the room searching for his discarded clothes. Upon bending down and reaching under the bed he found his jeans lying crumpled. His shirt lay near the dresser and he put them both on cursing silently when he realised that he had put his shirt on the wrong way.
His headache was becoming worse. He fumbled around the bedside table searching for an aspirin but this girl didn't have any.
He was relieved to find his phone in his jean pocket and he hurriedly tiptoed out of the room hoping nobody was at home. The living room was deserted and he sighed with relief.
He clicked the door open and quickly ran down the stairs thanking his stars that he had made it out before the girl woke up. Louis hated it when he couldn't leave while the girl was sleeping. Then things became uncomfortable and awkward and he disliked that. The absolute worst was when the girl decided to become all clingy and shit and asked for his number. Then he'd quickly scrawl down a fake number and get his ass out of her house. According to Louis, one night stands were the way to go. They provided mutual satisfaction without the messiness of a relationship. He doubted he'd ever get into a relationship.
He reached the bottom of the stairs and the doorman shot him a look as though he knew exactly what he had been up to and then smirked nastily at him.
"Mind your own fooking business, you fooking loosah" Louis muttered, his head hurting too much for him to raise his voice and start yelling.
Louis wandered around the neighbourhood trying to figure out which direction his apartment was in. But before that, he had to get coffee into his system. Coffee was essential for his survival at this point.
Louis walked along the sidewalk breathing a sigh of relief when he saw a small barista. He opened the door and was just about to walk in when a tall figure wearing a long coat tried to walk out simultaneously and collided into louis, knocking his small frame over before he could even see his face. He stumbled over. Anger clouded his vision.
"Can't you fucking watch where you're going you moron" he yelled from his position on the ground.
"I'm so extremely sorry, I didn't mean to knock you over, you see I was in a bit of a hurry and I didn't really see you because you know, you're a little small and.."
"Do me a favour and save your stupid apology" Louis muttered trying to get up from the cold ground.
The stranger lent him a hand to stand up, Louis huffed. He wasn't small. He could get up on his own. He ignored the hand and stood up, brushing himself down and walking away with not even so much as a backward glance at the man.
Louis decided that he had no time for coffee. He needed to get back to his apartment and get ready for work. It was 11 am, Friday and he worked at a fast food restaurant that was just down his Street. His shift began at 12 and ended by 5. The pay wasn't too good, but the work was easy and he managed somehow.
Louis sat in the cab giving the driver directions to his rented apartment.
He climbed out of the taxi upon reaching his destination and walked up the stairs. The apartment had three storeys and louis lived on the first floor. His apartment wasn't too big, it had two small bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room. He had found this apartment by a stroke of luck, through a friend of his and he was so grateful for it because it fell exactly under his budget and was comfortable and cozy. Just as he went towards the stairs, he almost ran into Dean, the land lord of his apartment. What was it with running into people today he wondered to himself thinking of the guy he collided into. He couldn't see much of him except that he was really tall and had a black coat and had curly hair..? Maybe he had been a little rude to him, he thought guiltily.
"Oi Tommo, watch where you're walking" Dean said, jerking louis out of his thoughts.
"Sorry" he mumbled.
"Nah, it's all good, I was hoping to speak to you anyway, I wanted to check if you read the notice that I put up on the board last month" Dean said.
"Notice? What notice?" said Louis puzzled..
"I knew you were careless enough to not see it. The notice says that the rent to all the apartments in this complex have been raised to the original plus 3/4ths of the cost, the new rent will be chargeable from next month" he said grimly.
"What the fuck do you mean the rent has been raised!? You know that this place just fits into my budget! How the fuck am I supposed to pay the rent!?" Louis said getting worked up and worried at the same time.
"Well then you'll have to move out. Find yourself a new place to live, see if I care."
"Fine. You know what? I will. See if I care. " Louis sassed back.
He walked up to his apartment wondering what he was going to do now. The day hadn't even begun fully and it was already turning out to be a disaster...
