second year,
rosier to the rescue
╚═══════════════╝

The last weeks went by quickly, Aimee was suspicious of Sirius, she hadn't seen much of him since he asked her about the werewolf theory. He barely listened in class, 'why was he so interested in werewolves anyway?' she questioned. He usually messed around in defence against the dark arts, 'surely he couldn't be wanting to do extra credit,'

She joined Marlene, Alice, Lily and Mary for breakfast, before everyone left for the train ride back to King's Cross Station. She planned to sit with Regulus and Evan on the train, sitting with the girls now meant she could see them before they left. Evan had asked Severus to sit with them too, however, he informed them that he would be sitting with Lily.

Aimee realised that she had left her favourite book in her room, she hugged the girls just in case she missed them before boarding the train. She raced to the dungeons, running through her common room, to her bedroom, her book was laying where she had left it, on her pillow.

She picked up the book and a sigh of relief left her mouth, she was almost finished and wasn't about to wait all summer to see how the story ended. As she exited her room trying to place her book neatly into her bag, she bumped into someone.

"Oh I'm sorry," she looked up realising she bumped into Amycus "oh it's you,"

"That tone isn't going to sit well with me-

"Get used to it, 'cause it's the only tone of voice I'm giving you," she turned to head for the door.

"I'm sure Aunt Elizabeth would love to know what you've been up to!" he said loud enough for her hearing, she halted her stride, quickly turning around hurrying back across the room to him.

"What did you say?"

"You heard me, I'll tell Aunt Elizabeth about your relationship with Sirius Black,"

"I wasn't dating him," she warned

"Yeah right, I saw how much you smiled around him, there's no doubt you were dating,"

"You aren't going to say anything, because if you do, I'll make your life hell," he laughed at her

"Don't try being tough it doesn't suit you," he smirked as he walked past her, she looked through the common room looking for her brothers.

Believing that they had already gone to the station, she hurried through the courtyard pulling her trunk behind her. As she reached Hogsmeade station, Regulus had been waiting for her to board the train. Aimee smiled at him leaving her trunk with all the other students. They walked to a compartment where Evan was already seated comfortably.

"We thought you'd miss the train," he said, creasing his brows as she didn't respond or even look in his direction.

"Are you okay?" Regulus asked

"Yeah, Amycus is going to get me in trouble," she said, her voice trembling with fear.

"Why what happened?" Evan asked, she sniffed up taking a breath,

"It's a long story but my mother said, I'm not allowed to be Sirius' friend, and Amycus said he's going to tell her that we're dating, even though we weren't truly dating, my mother will be furious, and I don't - I don't know -

"You'll be fine, I'm sure," Regulus said,

"Yeah, why don't you try to sleep the way back," Evan said, she nodded as she rested her head back on the wall, she shuffled forward so she was laid at a comfortable angle.

Meanwhile, in another compartment further along the train, James wanted to give Lily a letter to take home with her, but he was too nervous to give it to her. Sirius offered to take it for him seeing as Lily liked him more than James.

Sirius walked along the train, looking through all the windows looking for Lily and the girls. He stopped at one window, inside were Regulus and Evan, along with Aimee who had fallen asleep on Rosier's lap. He hurried back to the boys in their compartment,

"Why didn't you give it Lily?" James asked, seeing the letter still in his hand

"Give it her yourself," he snapped at James

"Ouch, what's got your wand in a knot?"

"Nothing,"

"It obviously isn't nothing," Remus commented,

"It's nothing alright, can we just get back to Peter's story," Sirius said,

Peter rambled on with his story, James and Remus listened, while Sirius gazed outside. he knew it. Aimee was just like his parents, prejudice just like they were, 'Why else would she be interested in Rosier, surely it can't be his personality.' He thought about her for the rest of the train ride how could she and he thought she liked him.

Once the train came to a halt, Evan nudged Aimee awake as they were now stationed at King's Cross Station, she cringed when she saw her mother waiting for her. Aimee walked out of her compartment, bumping into Sirius on her way out.

"Hi," she hugged him, though something felt different, he didn't hug her back

"I thought I'd say goodbye before my mother saw us," he didn't say anything, he turned to Regulus

"Come on, wouldn't want to keep mother waiting," Sirius said, shoving Regulus forward to walk away from Aimee and Evan.

"What was that about?" Evan asked

"I have no idea," Aimee said, as the pair walked off the train, Evan gave her his address so she could owl him over the summer. She spotted Amycus already talking to her mother, she took a deep breath, as she approached her mother, who snatched her arm pulling her away.

"Aimee!" someone shouted causing her mother to let go of her. "You weren't leaving without saying goodbye, were you," Evan said

"No, I didn't know where you were," she said, hugging him tightly, he could feel her body trembling.

"Hi, you must be Aimee's mother, I'm Evan Rosier," he offered his hand while keeping his free arm around her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, young man," she spoke more cheerful, "why did you never tell me about your friend?"

"Because I was going to ask you when we got home,"

"Ask me what?"

"If I could go to Evan's home over the summer," she said, Elizabeth looked between the two of them.

"I suppose that could be arranged," Evan smiled at Aimee.

"Evan, come along your mother is waiting for us," his father said, he nodded hugging Aimee once more before hurrying away with his father.

"He seems like a nice boy," her mother's tone changed dramatically, which only cause Aimee to be more nervous about her mother's reaction to her and Sirius.

Aimee and her mother arrived home, her father wasn't home, which was strange he was always there to welcome her home. She took her things up to her bedroom, she remained in her room, for the rest of the day. She had to write to Evan, he practically saved her today,

Dear Evan Rosier,

Thank you so much, for helping me out today, she was really mad. You seem to have lightened her mood and for that thank you, I hope I didn't cause you any trouble with your parents. I also didn't mean to invite myself to your home.

Although it would be nice to see you outside of school,
From Aimee Burke.

As she handed the letter to the owl that delivered their post, she heard the front door open, she hurried along the hall, excited to see her father. She halted her steps at the top of the staircase, when she heard an unfamiliar voice in her home, she crouched down on the floor, to listen in to the conversation.

"Thank you, for coming-

"What do you have to offer me," she listened to the man speak coldly, colder than her mother spoke.

"My daughter, I plan to teach her," Mrs Burke spoke.

"Teach her what exactly?" the man asked

"I plan to teach her how to become an animagus, for you, my lord,"
