Mickey whistled the toon to Staying Alive while leaning against the trunk of the black Escalade she'd just been stuck inside of. Sharon looked over at her, the women having taken a pause from her impatient struts to eye the brunette.

"What?" Mickey cocked a brow. She rolled her eyes after realizing that Sharon was over her demeanor, she had been nothing but smiles since retaining Cap's shield, and Falcons wings. The truth was that she wanted nothing more then to see them again, to know that this plan was coming to an end sooner or later, and frankly to have a chance at looking at Bucky. "Oh come on, aren't you a little excited?"

"Mickey I'm not sure we have the same definition of excited," Sharon remarked, turning her head to the abandoned tunnel lot the two were in. The airports was near, they could hear the planes taking off and the stream of their loud engines booming in the sky. Other then the occasional airplane there was nothing else but the sound of them and so Mikey had filled the time humming to herself and thinking of anything but all the betrayals she had gotten herself into.

"Steve is usually on time to things," Mickey changed the subject, dark brown eyes wondering as well what was taking them so long.

Sharon nodded, concern in her eyes despite the cool demeanor she portrayed. The two briefly glanced at one another as another few minutes rolled by before the screech of tires sounded in their ears.

"Oh you've gotta be shitting me," Mickey cackled as she took in the site of the little bug of a car that Steve was driving. She would have laughed harder if she wasn't terrified someone would hear them but did manage to let out a few snorts when Sharon blinked a few times in utter disbelief of the car.

"Please tell me steve does not have his two partners in crime with him," the blonde muttered as the car came closer.

Mickey saw a brief flash of Sams head in the passenger and let out another snort, "oh dear lord."

"Well," Sharon whistles lowly and leaned against the hood of her car. "Can't get more inconspicuous then that I suppose."

The tiny car parked a little farther away from them and both women looked at each other as if to wonder just why. After a few moments the drive door opened and out stepped Steve who seemed to exhale in relief once he was out. His eyes looked into the car for the moment before rounding back to the blonde and brunette impatiently awaiting him.

"Not sure you understand the concept of a getaway car." Sharon commented when he walked over.

"Leave it to Steve to drive a punch buggy," Mickey scoffed.

Steve smirked at her comment and then looked back before shrugging. "It's low profile."

"Good, because this stuff tends to draw a crowd." Sharon responded before unlatching the trunk of their car and revealing Steve and Sam's gear.

"How'd you get it?" Steve states with a rhetorical look as his eyes were directed towards the small brunette with a mischievous smile on her lips.

"My charm and good looks Steve, they handed it right over." She winked at Steve, heavy sarcasm when she spoke.

Steve sighed heavily and looked back at both of them with a sincere smile although Mickey was beginning to notice how much his eyes drifted to Sharon. "I owe you both again."

"Keeping a list. "Sharon shrugged off his response, her eyes trailing over towards the small car he had driven in. "You know, he kinda tried to kill me."

Mickey raised a brow, her mouth opened for a smartass comment that would likely end with Steve lecturing her but was instead stopped mid speech as she caught site of who Sharon spoke about. The long hair, the scruffy beard and the clueless expression, Holy shit, she thought.

"Sorry. I'll put it on the list, too." Steve spoke somewhere far off before she managed to catch on.

"STEVE! You brought him They're going to come looking for you." Mickey exclaimed, her eyes widening as she was ready to lecture the blonde when it dawned on her who was in the car.

Bucky Barnes.

Her Bucky... holy shit.

Steve and Sharon looked at one another in confusion as her mouth gaped like a fish gasping for water. She couldn't process her excitement.

"BUCKY!" She finally managed to gasp and was running as fast as her legs could.

From inside the car Sam and Bucky watched the petite girl dash across the empty lot. Bucky was confused as his thick eyebrows raised, "who is that?"

Sam turned in his direction, a finger pointed at the man with no fear, he could have cared less that this man was responsible for hundreds of assassinations and was stronger then he could ever imagine, this was Mickey that was on the line. The young Rivera girl was like a little sister to him or even a daughter and her bright reflection on all things needed to remain intact. "I swear to god if you mess this up."

Bucky was even further confused as he blinked between the still running girl, a motionless Steve and a furious Sam, "what is going on?"

"Be nice or I swear to god I will sell your arm on eBay," Sam threatened and turned in his seat just as Mickey made it to the hood of the car. She stopped there, her head ducking to get a full view of the inside of the vehicle. Within moments of confirming that this indeed was the same man she'd seen days ago a smile broke out onto her lips and Bucky immediately thought he had never seen someone so happy to see him.

She was very young, he thought to himself and her face seemed slightly familiar although many things blurred in his head so he couldn't exactly confirm that. Her smile was infectious however because out of the corner of his eye he saw Sam's serious demeanor drop for a second and a smirk appear. Steve had told him they were meeting someone to help, he had never mentioned a teenage girl. Her eyes were bright despite their natural darkness, wide grin immovable.

"Holy shit," she mouthed the words and through the muffled glass he just managed to hear it before she was coming around the side and opening the driver door.

The young girl ducked in, not once removing her eyes from the long haired male who was now slightly concerned.

"Mickey," Sam tried to gain her attention, her wide eyes quickly farted in his direction. "You alright?"

She swallowed the bubble of nerves, "oh yeah, you know how some girls my age freak out over band members? This is my Backstreet Boys."

Sam coughed a laugh and watched as her head whipped back towards Bucky who was now even further confused at her reference. Her smile was wider then before, "hello, we've met before, you tried to kill me four times now but I forgive you if you promise to marry me."

"I—uh," Bucky was flabbergasted at her quick wit.

She grinned even deeper and giggles, "completely kidding!" She extended a hand, "my names Mickey, I've been waiting years to meet you."

She was so warm with her greeting, unlike any person who'd ever met him for the first time before. This girl acted like he wasn't a murderer, like he hadn't committed atrocities before. She knew all these things, she had very well confirmed it and yet again she not once seemed to scream in terror.

Bucky somehow found the courage to lift his hand and shake it, and slowly Steve's voice drifted in his head about her. She was the Mickey, the girl who was behind the lines on the other side, their inside lead into knowing everything. She was so young, Bucky thought, but looks were deceiving as the girl did not have one ounce of hesitance in her.

"Mickey," he let the name sit on his tongue as her face grew kinder when he finally spoke and realized that maybe more was necessary. "Steve has talked about you."

Mickey made a mental note to say thank you to the blonde before pulling her hand away and shrugging her shoulders in a very casual way, "well I have saved his ass about 7 times, wait 8 counting this."

Bucky's eyebrow raised in surprise as he couldn't imagine this little lady was a force to be reckoned with. He looked to Sam for any help, and the man only stared back in a very annoyed manner which left Bucky to simply mutter a silent, "oh."

Mickey suddenly realized she was coming on a bit strong, she'd imagined this meeting millions of times with millions of scenarios and this sense of awkwardness had not been in any of them. It came to her mind however that Bucky was likely still suffering from difficulty in remembering many things and piecing the past with the present together.

She sighed and leaned back, her back pressing against the wheel of the car, "Steve, Sam, and I have become friends and allies throughout the years. I've met you on a few of those occasions although you probably don't remember, but it's nice to finally meet the real you."

Her eyes flickered to Sam for a moment, as if to ask if her new approach had been better and his silent nod seemed to satisfy her when she turned back to the winter soldier. Bucky was still mute, focusing on the fragments of his thoughts he could piece together and through it he saw her face still. She was a bit blurry but the last century had been so, even though she was slightly more pronounced, like Steve, like the red headed women, and like Sam.

"Thank you... Mickey, for helping Steve." He finally spoke after his pause.

Mickey smile was now gentle and her eyes were a little shinier but she managed to blink that away quickly. She wasn't going to cry, not like this, but simply hearing those few words meant a lot to her. Bucky could tell she felt truly touched by his words and for a moment he saw why Sam has asked him to mind his behavior.

Sam let out a low whistle and this caused the two of them to turn back, follow Sam's eyes, and then practically pop as they found Steve and Sharon kissing.

"It took 'em long enough," Mickey snorted.

"Yeah well the old mans old school, likes to take things slow," Sam commented and the two seemed to agree that it was best to look away at the same moment so their eyes trailed from the couple and back to the winter soldier. Sam lifted a brow and went back to the girl, "so? You happy?"

Mickey grinned and nodded, "we're getting there but Steve kept his promise, I finally got to meet Bucky Barnes."

Bucky wondered why she was so fascinated by him especially with all the tragedy he had cause but chose to keep silent.

Mickey went to open her mouth to speak her again, she had no idea exactly what to say but like most of the conversation had been winging it thus far. Unfortunately for her Steve interrupted them all with a loud, "MICKEY!"

She turned her head, all of them looking back to see that the super soldier and the agent were beckoning her back with a hand wave. She groaned in annoyance knowing that her time was up, "they couldn't have kissed any more could they?"

"Afraid not kid, times up." Sam murmured, he felt slightly bad for Mickey and also worried. She was never more safer then with a bunch of fugitives ironically, even with Stark by her side there was no telling just what could happen.

Mickey pouted for a moment, sucking in a breath and finally turning back to Bucky. He still had that clueless expression on his face, simply staring at her as if he awaited her next move. Mickey had found that this expression was comforting, knowing that she had a clean slate with someone was nice.

She leaned in, throwing her arms over his shoulders and pressing their bodies together in a tight hug. Bucky was confused at first, hesitant to move but after a moment of adjusting to her warmth and small body, to realizing that someone was actually hugging him out of genuine happiness, did he respond back. His metal arm pulled around her small waist and squeezed briefly until she pulled away. Mickey wasn't one for affection, her father was the only person who ever truly saw the side of thenyoung girl but she had to admit that this moment was pretty sentimental. Despite the obvious she couldn't shake the feeling that this moment of peace would not last so she hugged Bucky and gave him a sincere smile.

"I know you probably don't think you're worth this trouble but Bucky I promise you that you're worth this and more."

She turned to Sam and hugged him as well, the falcon being a bit happier and quicker to respond as he patted her short hair against her back. "Don't get all sentimental on me now short stack."

Mickey pulled away and her smile was between a laugh and grin, "You know I don't do feelings Sam. I do however know when hugs are owed."

Sam seemed to agree and responded after a moment, "be safe kid, we'll understand if anything happens."

Mickey took his words with appreciation and squared her shoulders as she began to exit, "right well the next time I see you two it'll be on the other side of the war line. If I punch you don't be too mad, I promise I don't mean it."

She saluted then goodbye and exited the car, her short legs barely able to keep a solid pace as she found Steve was beyond the halfway point when he met her. Steve looked down at her short stature, "Mickey I can't thank you enough—"

"Oh shut up," she muttered and pulled him into a hug. Her arms reached the middle of his torso, and she stood on the tips of her toes as she squeezed the captain to her with all her strength. Steve reciprocated and pressed his cheek to the top of her head. Mickey's muffled words were only said to her, "I wouldn't have done this if anyone else asked Steve and that's because I trust you like I trust my dad. You're the only person besides him that ever truly believed in me. Thank you, I hope I make you proud."

"You have kid, you have." Steve responded softly, "be safe in whatever happens after this. Run if you must just stay safe."

"I'm through running Captain Underpants, it's time I made my own safety instead of running around the world for it."

Steve squeezed her a bit tighter and she didn't need to hear nor did he have to say it for her to know he was quite proud of her.

Mickey pulled back only enough to give him a peck on the cheek, one of which stunned the super soldier more then her hug. In that moment he saw Mickey as a younger sister or maybe even the daughter he never had. She was more then he'd once thought, Mickey was special like Bucky or Sam and he knew he had to protect her  from the outcome.

The brunette barely noticed this as a shy smile came of her features when she pushed back, "right well... take care of my Bucky and Sam. Don't get too hurt doing what you must and if you happen to get a glimpse of me I'll try to keep the pain at a minimum."

Steve could only smile at her words, "I don't think I'll be ever to fight back."

She snorted and rolled her eyes, "damn straight you won't even see me coming."
