ONE.

ONE-YOONGI
MARCH 29
20 : 28 KST

min yoongi had never felt this violated in his entire life.

he's been through his fair share of troubles—but never this much, especially not this much. sure, he was born with a fancy silver spoon in his mouth, dressed in only the most expensive brands of clothing in the world, cradled softly in the finest fabric of a blanket at six months old. he had almost everything—no,—he had everything he could ask for. his own car at twenty-four, a closet full of designer brands, a guaranteed first class in every plane ride!

but even someone like him could go through a lot, right?

maybe not so much, but you get the drift.

"seriously? an arranged marriage? i didn't know we were living in 1392!" yoongi roared, shocked at the sudden announcement. "and no, i am not marrying that son of a bitch!"

"yoongi, watch your language!" his father stared at him, eyes wide at his son's major profanity. it wasn't like he should be surprised, anyway. "i will not tolerate you calling your future bride a son of a bitch! that is just not acceptable, son."

"future bride? future bride?" yoongi repeated, so surprised that even a laugh of mockery left his lips. he looked at his dad, a smile on his lips as if waiting for him to exclaim that it was all just a badly exerted joke. that was it right? what else could it be? his father looked at him with a stern face, lips pursed in all seriousness in the world. yoongi's smile faltered, groaning heavily.

"you've got to be kidding me."

"news flash," his father smiled. "i'm not."

"why me, huh? why me?" yoongi grabbed his hair in frustration, pacing around the room. "why don't you marry off hoseok, or something? yeah, yeah, yeah! hoseok is a good match for her! definitely!"

"yoongi, are you out of your mind? hoseok is sixteen," his dad said in disbelief. "he's only a boy."

"right," yoongi remembered, groaning. "i forgot."

"son, you're the heir to this company. it has to be you," his dad persuaded. he didn't have to, knowing for a fact that yoongi would be left with no choice nevertheless. after all, that was always the way things worked around this family. "this company can fall at any minute because of one, simple mistake, that's why i'm doing this. if you marry her, almost everything would be guaranteed! you wouldn't have to worry about—"

"financial issues?" yoongi finished, furrowing his brows. "but dad, what about how i feel, huh? don't you care about that? my financial stability would be intact but what about how i feel?"

his father stayed silent.

"we are going through with this marriage whether you like it or not." his father took a sharp breath. "do you understand?"

"but-"

"do you understand?" his father asked once again, stern in demeanor.

yoongi gritted his teeth, looking away. "fine."

"and there you go," hoseok grinned, patting the tie he had done to complete yoongi's outfit. despite having lived for a total twenty-four years with a family which eyes were too focused on the business life, yoongi still had no absolute idea how to hook his tie up for his formal attires. it's not like he even tried, though. but hey—that's what hoseok was for, right?

"sometimes i wish you were the older brother," yoongi told him, turning around to look at the mirror. "like, you're so much more capable than me, don't you think so? you're a lot calmer, definitely more rational, and you know how to tie a tie. that's heir material right there."

"i still think you're better, though," hoseok piped. "i think you're fit for this."

yoongi looked at him weirdly. "that's gotta be the biggest lie you've ever told me."

"i know," hoseok grinned. yoongi shook his head, a light laugh leaving his lips. a thought seemed to cross hoseok's head. "oh right, i prepared your suitcase for you. there's quite a lot of important documents this time so i had to prepare it for you in case you get reckless. all the files for your meeting today are in there exactly how dad asked me to. wait, hold up, let me get it for you."

hoseok stood up and grabbed a blue, sturdy suitcase from beside the worktable. "here you go."

"thanks, seok. i appreciate it." yoongi smiled. "oh, i almost forgot. can you grab something for me from the first drawer? it's a small notepad, y'know? you might not know, but i always carry it around."

"um, sure." hoseok said unsurely, turning around.

yoongi was quick on his feet. as soon as the boy turned his back, he hurriedly dug down onto to the floor beside his bed and grabbed an exact replica of his suitcase. he glanced at hoseok, who still had his back faced on him. instead of having actual files in the replica, it was filled with his clothes and every necessity he would need. he had prepared this in his spare time when no one was home, not to mention the fact that he had worked pretty fucking hard for it.

yes, min yoongi was going to fucking escape.

carefully, he shoved the real suitcase under the bed and took out the replica. it was exact in appearance—blue and sturdy, with his initials signed on top. he was quick on his feet and jumped back up.

"yoongi, what did you say it looked like again?" hoseok asked, turning around as soon as yoongi finished. "i can't find it."

yoongi smiled. "never mind. i think i left it downstairs."

7:40 KST

it's been twenty minutes.

hoseok left for school just ten minutes ago, and yoongi was waiting for the right time to leave. yoongi was waiting just in case hoseok takes a turn back home because he forgot something. anything could go wrong if yoongi wasn't careful. now, yoongi wanted to leave at night, but it was too risky and he could get caught. everyone would be sleeping, and his dad (who was an annoyingly light sleeper) would wake up at the sound of almost anything.

now was the right time.

hoseok was at school, his dad was at the building, his mom was at work, the maids were too busy trying to fix the garden hose he (purposely) broke. now he just needed to leave.

and fast.

min yoongi didn't want to seem as if he was going to escape, so he walked normally to the garage as if he was going to the meeting. it was no big deal—he just needed to act casual. he gripped his suitcase tightly, trying to keep a straight face. yoongi had never done this before-never in his life did he defy his father's orders like this. maybe at times, like how his dad demanded he do the laundry since the maids were on their day off, or that time when his father asked for a cup of coffee, but never to this extent-never like this.

yoongi heaved a sigh of relief once he arrived at the garage, his eyes trailing to the numerous cars his family owned. he pulled out his car keys, pushing the automatic unlock button. he awaited for the sound of his car, but it never came.

he tried again—nothing.

something was wrong.

he looked around carefully.

"my car is fucking gone!"

9 : 00 KST

"i can't believe you took my car!" yoongi exclaimed, entering his dad's office without hesitation. his own father didn't even flinch, instead, he looked at him calmly as he sat on his chair, hands clasped together on top of his table.

"i couldn't risk you escaping days before your wedding, yoongi," his father said with a straight face. "i know you too well."

"but i wasn't even gonna leave!" yoongi said. "i was going to the meeting like what i was supposed to do, dad! i wasn't planning anything!"

"oh, really?" his dad narrowed his eyes. "yeonsoo, check his suitcase."

"yes, sir."

his dad's preppy-looking assistant neared him. neat glasses, neat bun, neat blouse, neat skirt-these only made yoongi back away from her. yeonsoo seized him and forcefully snatched his suitcase from his grasp, much to his dismay. "hey!" he tried to grab it away from her before she could even open it, but it was too late. the bitch was quick. the clothes started spilling out of the luggage, causing a wave of shame to wash over yoongi's face.

"well, fuck."

19 : 40 KST

"i can't believe you," hoseok said in disbelief.

"look, i'm sorry," yoongi sighed. "i know i was selfish. i know that the company should be a priority-i'm aware. but i don't want to get married-"

"are you kidding me? i'm not mad at that, yoongi." hoseok interrupted, his brows furrowing. "i'm all up for you standing up for yourself. believe me, i wouldn't want to get married like that, either."

yoongi raised a brow. "then what are you mad about, then?"

hoseok sighed, "you're so naive."

"seriously, why?"

"yoongi, i'm mad at the fact that you didn't even tell me about this. i'm mad at the fact that you didn't even think about telling me about this. if you left, then how would i know i would ever see you again? you didn't even say a proper goodbye when you were attempting to leave! i'm your brother, i need to know when you're going to be doing stupid shit like this," hoseok frowned. "not to mention the fact you did a pretty shit job at trying to escape. if you have told me, i would've come up with a master plan. i'm the smart one between us."

"i know you are." yoongi laughed silently. "seok, i'm sorry. i didn't think you would feel like this. i—it didn't even cross my mind. but believe me, seok. i didn't tell you not because i didn't trust you. it was just me being a dumbass, you already know that."

"i know that very well, yoongs." a sly smile made its way to hoseok's lips. "that's why i have a plan."
