BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL | 12
As Wanda took some pills and Juniper quickly got dressed, a certain someone, a certain Geraldine — except that wasn't her real name, but Juniper doesn't know it yet — arrived in town.
Geraldine ( name to be found out by Juniper ) walked it, calling for Wanda.
Juniper made her way down the stairs as Wanda stood in shock.
"Geraldine?!" Juniper said, a giddy smile on her face.
Sure she had kinda witnessed the girl being thrown through a few walls, but that didn't mean Juniper didn't like her or didn't respected her.
"It's actually Monica."
"Ooo, nice name." She told her, coming to stand next to her, watching as Wanda stood their in a disapproving type of shock.
"What are you doing?" She asked, coming closer to her best friend and the women she kind off considered an intruder.
"Wanda —"
"How did you get in here?" Wanda demanded.
"Listen to me." Monica started, holding her hands out slightly in front of her. Juniper stepped forward slightly to cause some sort of barrier.
Wanda would never attack her, hell, they didn't even fight when it came to the accords.
Accords? Sokovia accords! Juniper had to sign them to ensure she was safe, not just because of her powers but because of her history with drugs and low levels of crime.
Wow, more memories.
Drowning. Dead. Avengers. Sokovia Accords. Drugs. Death. Fake Pietro — who she had never met before Westview.
"This whole thing is about Vision."
"Get out of my house!" Wanda demanded, pointing over to the door.
"Hayward was trying to bring him —"
Juniper and Monica stepped back as Wanda produced red in her hands.
"Don't talk to me about that. I don't wanna hear about it."
Despite Juniper being in the way, Wanda pushed her best friend aside and forced Monica out of the house, stepping forward as she did so.
With wide eyes the girl followed.
Wanda held Monica up in the sky, people showed no care.
"Wanda! Please." Juniper begged, standing at her best friends side. "She just wants to help."
"No!"
"Wanda!"
"The drones, the missiles. Pietro?"
People began looking over.
"No! Wait! Pietro, no, no, no, that wasn't us." Monica tried to defend herself. Herself and them outside.
"All you do is lie!"
Juniper placed a hand on Wanda's shoulder trying to bring their woman down mentally. To ground her, to get her to think. But Wanda, despite the guilt, despite it being the last thing she'd ever want to do, she threw her best friend away from herself.
For her safety! For Juniper's safety!
Juniper wasn't throw far, only a couple of feet, landing on the ground with a thud and nice amount of pain from it. The throw wasn't what hurt her. It being Wanda that did it was what hurt. She shook her head at her best friend, breathing heavily.
Wanda pulled Monica from the sky, making her fall.
But hero stance! Monica landed, full hero landing. If Juniper wasn't lying on the floor in pain, she would of clapped.
Monica stood up as Juniper pushed herself to be sitting cross legged.
"The only lies I've told are the ones you put in my mouth."
"Careful what you say to me." Wanda warned, more red light forming in her hands.
As much as Juniper wanted to be on Wanda's side and defended her she knew Monica wanted to help her, so by being on Monica's side she'd be helping Wanda — that's a loophole she is allowed to give herself.
"Do it, then." Monica said. "Take me out."
Wanda breathed heavily at the woman, not moving to attack.
Juniper knew — she knew — there was good in Wanda, she hoped and she prayed that that hadn't changed.
"See, see? That's where you and Hayward differ." Monica took slow 'I'm not a foe I'm a friend' steps towards the women. "He's gonna burn Westview to the ground just to get what he wants."
"What a prick." Juniper said, shaking her head. She had to add some commentary.
"Don't let him make you the villain."
"Maybe I already am."
"No. No. No!" Juniper said, shaking her head at Wanda.
"I'm not afraid of you, Wanda."
Neither was Juniper. Hell, the girl once wrapped her best friend in a blanket — like a burrito — and watched sitcoms — something Juniper doesn't even like — to make sure Wanda felt comfortable and safe in the Avengers tower.
Oh! New memory unlocked. How cool.
"I lost the person closest to me, too." Monica began to reason, still coming slightly closer.
Juniper wished she had a bowl of popcorn.
"The worst thing I can think of has already happened to me and I can't change it. I can't undo it. I can't control this pain anymore. And I don't think I want to, because it's my truth."
Call Juniper a wimp or whatever, but she is totally tearing up right now. She missed her mom. Seeing her ghost like form wasn't the same, sometimes it made the pain worse.
"Wanda, you have to —"
"Young lady." Agnes said, coming on sight, taking a stand next to Wanda. "I think you overstayed your welcome." Monica looked at Agnes then down at Juniper ( who shook her head ) then at Wanda. "Poor Wanda's been through enough."
Juniper quickly wiped her eyes and took a stand between Wanda and Monica.
"This doesn't concern you." Monica politely told the women. "Wanda —"
"Run along, dear." Agnes said, rubbing Wanda's shoulder as she forced the women towards her house.
"Wanda, you have to take it down."
"No." Wanda said, her voice wobbling, as she pointed a finger at Monica.
"Wanda, dear, dear Wanda, you have to let me go, you have to let us all go, I will be at your side, dead or alive, but you have to do the right thing, we'll meet again, just not here, not now." Juniper promised, going to take a step forward.
Wanda's pained face stoped her as she shook her head. "I can't, I can't." Wanda told her.
Juniper looked at. "Wanda, you might not —"
"Don't make me hurt you."
"Fine. Do it your way." Juniper snapped. Her eyes widened, shaking her head. "I'm sorry."
Agnes muttered something still pushing Wanda away to hers.
Monica and Juniper watched as they walked down the street before turning to each other. Clearly they agreed. Agnes was suspicious. They nodded before beginning to walk.
•••
Juniper and Monica stood outside a blue and white coloured house. Specifically Agnes' house. The two women had agreed that Agnes was suspicious and so they had to have a look. For Wanda and the twins — and totally not because Juniper is nosey.
Juniper would sooner hurt herself then let trouble come to the kids.
They saw nothing in the window, so they decided to go at around the side, fining a storm bunker. The stood by it, glancing at the pretty blue coloured doors.
Juniper was basic when it came to her favourite colours, they were blue and pink.
First they looked through the back door and the window before standing in front of the storm bunker.
"I'll let you have the honours." Juniper said, folding her arms in front of her.
"Your so kind." Monica joked.
Juniper laughed, blowing a kiss to the woman.
Monica pulled the doors open, revealing darkness with purple.
Juniper and Monica stared down at the stairs. Debating whether they should go down or not. They shared a look, before glancing back down.
"Snoopers gonna snoop."
They turned their heads to Pietro — fake Pietro — not expecting to see him or hear him. Then again, who else just appears when times are tough?
