Narrator's pov:
Archie and Jughead jump out of the train. The two boys were fleeing their hometown of Riverdale, in fear for Archie's life. There were very few places they would be safe. Luckily Jughead had the perfect idea of where to go. Toledo, to visit his mother. Walking onto the property, Jug felt uneasy. Would his mother let him stay? Or would she tell him to leave, like last time? Shaking the thoughts out of his head, he continued walking.
"Jughead?" His mother yelled, surprised at seeing the boy. Turning to the redhead, they exchange greetings. After all the details are covered, Gladys starts to show the boys around her shop. It was nothing fancy, just a repair garage, with a housing area attached. The thing that made the place so special was that Gladys had taken in several teens, who worked for her and lived at the place as well.
"Hey J.b! Someone's here to see you." She yelled at her daughter. J.b's eyes lit up as she saw her big brother, leaping into his arms at once.
"Am I interrupting?" A voice says, entering the garage. Jughead spun around, curious to who the voice belonged to. He was met by the face of a girl. She was a pretty girl, the prettiest girl he'd ever seen.
"Oh, Y/n. You're just in time, I was about to come find you. There's someone I want you to meet, this is my son Jughead, oh and his pal Archie." The girl smiled at the two boys, while they waved sheepishly, still stunned by her beauty.
"I took some of the town's homeless kids in here. Y/n is my favorite one, she helps around here the most and really knows her way around a car." Gladys said, complementing the girl.
The boys continued to gawk until the thought dawned on Jughead. He's dating Betty, which means he can't watch the girl in amazement or think about how beautiful she was. Gladys walked away to prepare dinner, Y/n following. As the girl walked away, she could feel the boys' eyes follow her out.

Y/n's pov:
"I call shotgun!" J.b yelled excitedly as she tried to pull the door open.
"Let Y/n have the front seat, J.b. She's older." She stuck her tongue out at me before climbing into the back seat. Gladys and J.b were moving back to their hometown of Riverdale, and Gladys knew I wouldn't have a place to live, so she offered to let me tag along.
"What do you think Dad's gonna say? About us bringing Y/n along."
"I don't know J.b, I'm not worried about it either. She needs a family and we've been that to her for years, I can't abandon her now."
~Time skip to when they get there~
"Dad!" J.b yells, hugging her father. I've heard a lot about F.p, but I've never actually met him. I watch the family reunite, minus one member of the family, Jughead. I met Jughead a few months back when he came to visit. He's very attractive, with his beanie and his S t-shirts. But I heard he has a girlfriend.
"And who's this?" F.p asked, gesturing my direction. Gladys took the opportunity to explain who I was and how I was going to be living with them for a while.
"Mom? Jellybean?" Jughead says in a sleepy tone, stepping out of the trailer. He's lost his usual beanie and has a messy bedhead, he's in one of his S t-shirts and his boxers. I giggle internally, he's even cute when he sleeps.
~Time skip to later~
"Uh, Y/n. Me and my friends are meeting at Pop's if you want to come" Jughead offers, while I'm sitting on the couch reading. I kindly accept his offer and wave goodbye to the family. It's dark out and walking the streets of Riverdale at night is a lot scarier than it sounds. We walk in a slightly uncomfortable silence, until he says,
"It's a beautiful night."
"Yeah, it's just really cold." I say rubbing my bare arms.
"Here, take my jacket." He removes his cotton-lined jean jacket and drapes it over my shoulders. Gosh, he smells good too.
"Sorry, now you're gonna be cold. You should just have it back." I start to take it off when he stops me. He looks at me and I can feel his eyes piercing into my soul. He feels it too and starts to walk again, me following. He holds the door for me as we enter the diner, the welcoming smell of burgers filling my nose.
"Y/n, you know Archie, and there's Veronica and my girlfriend Betty." He introduces. They all look confused except Archie who smiles at me. Betty glances from Jughead to me and shoots me an angry look.
"Are you wearing Jughead's jacket?"
"Uh, yeah. Sorry. It's just really cold and Jug was such a gentleman an-"
"No, it's not a big deal. He lets me wear them all the time. Isn't that right Juggie." She said, kissing him harshly, while he looked the most uncomfortable out of anyone. She pulls away and smirks at me, like she'd just won. Great, I'm already on Betty's bad side.
~3 weeks later~
Over the past few weeks, me and Jughead have gotten closer. Going to Pop's, watching movies and going to school, we did everything together. We've become very good friends, though Betty isn't very happy about it.
"Y/n, we're going to Pop's. Come on." He called, not even asking if I wanted to go, because he already knew the answer. We walked our usual way, in our usual silence, listening to the crickets chirp in the night once again. His hand brushes against mine, sending chills through my body.
"I'll get your usual, go sit down." He tells me as I go sit in a booth near the window. We eat our food and chat about petty things, laughing at some stupid thing Archie did.
"What the hell is going on here?" Someone yells, I look up from my milkshake to see Betty Cooper, staring down on us with looks that could kill.
"Hey, Betty." Jughead says, his laughter dying down.
"What are you doing with her again? Are you cheating on me? She's not even that pretty."
"Actually Betty, she's beautiful. I don't know what you're yelling about but don't bring Y/n into this." She makes a loud growling sound and storms out of the diner.
"I'm sorry Jughead. I don't want to cause drama." I say
"It's not your fault. Betty's just like that sometimes." He sighs.
"Let's go back to the trailer, everyone's staring at us anyway." He nods and we get up, leaving the lovely diner and began our walk back home. While the walk was uneventful, the tension in the air was dreadful.
"I'm gonna go into my room and watch a movie, care to join me?" I hesitantly nod, should I be going to his room with him? I walk in the room and it's surprisingly clean. He tosses his beanie on the nearby nightstand and puts the movie on. I hover in the doorway, not sure where to sit. He sits on the bed and pats the seat next to him.
"I'm gonna turn off the light, so we can see better." I sit down next to him and begin to watch the movie.
"Y/n?" Jug says quietly. I turn to him and he's staring right into my eyes. His eyes are bright green, and the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen.
"Yeah?" He leans in, he's going to kiss me. While I want to kiss him, he has a girlfriend.
"What about Betty?"
"What about Betty" I can feel his breath on my face, we're that close. He closes the gap, placing his lips on mine. I don't know what the kiss means or how I should react, but I kiss back, feeling better than I ever have before.
"She's gonna be really mad" I say, pulling away. He grabs me, pulling me close again.
"It doesn't matter. I'm just her backup, she wants Archie anyway." He kisses me again, without any hesitation.
We continue to kiss, without any care for the world around us, that is until we hear,
"What the hell is going on?" We jump, pulling away from each other. Gladys is standing in the doorway, F.p right behind her. I look from them to Jughead who looks equally horrified.
"Um, Gladys. It's not what it looks like- ok maybe it is. I'm gonna go, I shouldn't stay here anymore." I get up and start to walk out of the room.
"Y/n-" Jughead starts
"Sit down, you've done enough boy" F.p cuts him off. I walk to the living room and grab my bag, throwing my belongings in it.
"Y/n, I don't know what I just saw, I don't know how long it's been going on or if it's gonna continue, but I'm not telling you to leave. You've been a daughter to me for the past few years, I want you to be safe and have somewhere to live. But if you stay, there will be rules, for both of you" By now, Jughead and F.p had entered living room, the four of us not sure what to do next.
"Thank you." I mumble, looking at my feet. I look up and Jughead's looking at his feet too. We really messed up.
"Doors stay open, you're sleeping in different rooms, you can't be together if me and F.p are asleep, and please, just don't kiss in front of me, it's weird." We both nod, confused on what our kiss meant. She walks away, F.p following. I sigh in defeat and plop on the couch.
"Do you regret it?" He asks, sitting down next to me, but not looking me in the eyes.
"No. Do you?"
"Not at all. Does this mean..." He trailed off, as if for me to finish this sentence.
"If you didn't have a girlfriend, I would suggest dating. But that wouldn't go over well with your mom."
"Do you like me?"
"I do. Do you like me?" I ask as we play 50 questions.
"I do. I really do. I can handle Betty. And we won't let mom know." He said glancing around. Once he realized we were alone, he kissed me quick and walked back to his room. I lay down on the couch, thinking about the insane events of that night. My phone dings, and I pick it up to see a text from Jughead.
