057. one more night
I got a little carried away with this one... it's long and dramatic but actually kinda good (if I do say so myself)
3rd person pov:
The lodges were a very sketchy family, not to be trusted, that's for sure. Though Archie and the gang welcomed Veronica into their friend group with open arms. So far Veronica being in their group was nice, she was a useful addition to the group, since she was the only one not born and raised in Riverdale. Plus it gave the group another girl for Betty to hang out with, though Y/n still preferred hanging out with the boys.
Though there was of course, a downside to having Veronica there. She brought loads of drama, and Jughead seemed to dislike the girl very much. Y/n tried to reason with him, to get him to settle down a little, but nothing worked. It'd been over a year and Jug and Veronica still hadn't ended their on-and-off rivalry.
So when Veronica offered the four of them a weekend getaway at her family's cabin, he had his suspicions.
"What's in it for her?" The boy asked Y/n, while he was sitting in her room, watching her pack her bag for the weekend trip. She had yet to convince him to go, but either way she didn't want to miss out on the fun.
"Jughead she's just trying to be nice! Stop your conspiracies for one second and think about it logically. There's nothing in it for her besides a fun weekend with our friends. It's gonna be fine. So are you coming with me or not?" She asked, tilting his head up so he was forced to look at her, her stern Y/e/c eyes piercing into his.
"Fine. I'll go." She clapped her hands together in excitement, kissing his forehead and going back to packing her things.
24 hours later, at 11 am on that bright Saturday morning, they arrived at the breathtaking cabin Veronica wouldn't shut up about. Y/n's eyes sparkled as her mouth hung open, taking in the enormous house. They made their way inside, getting settled in and ready to start their mini-vacation.
The rest of the day was normal, nothing out of the ordinary. Though the tension between Veronica and Archie was clear, for Archie had locked lips with his blonde best friend only a few short weeks ago. Which was why Veronica left the boys and Y/n, and went out shopping, taking Betty with her, for Y/n didn't want to leave. Instead her and the boys stayed in, relaxing in the hot-tub Veronica was so insistent they used while they were up for the weekend.
It was dark outside as the five of them sat on the floor in the living room, playing a large game of monopoly on the coffee table. Betty was most likely going to win for she had the most money and properties in the game. Jughead, however wasn't going to let that happen, he was very competitive, and Y/n could already see the look in his eye, knowing he was going to try whatever it takes to win.
Y/n was the banker, so Jug saw this as his opportunity to steal some money from the 'bank', since he was running low. Y/n just smirked to herself, seeing what her boyfriend was doing, but not stopping him. He grabbed a few 10 monopoly dollars, trying to slide them over to his other side so he could keep it with his 'money', but unfortunately for him, he isn't as slick as he thought.
"Hey you're cheating!" Veronica yelled, pointing her finger aggressively at Jughead. Y/n looked up to see her genuinely mad.
"Veronica it's just a game-"
"No your boyfriend is a thief!" Y/n sighed to herself, knowing this would ruin their night, for Jug wouldn't be able to let it go.
"Oh wow Veronica you're really gonna go there? After all of the things your dad has done, everything he's stolen from us, from my family specifically, you're gonna get mad over a game of monopoly? That's just-" He rambled, his rant being cut short by his girlfriend putting her hand over his mouth, dragging him down so his head was near her chest, as a way to calm him down.
The argument wasn't going to stop there, but a loud bang could be heard from a nearby part of the house, pulling them apart from their bickering.
"What was that?" Betty asked, her tone of her voice sending shivers up Y/n's spine.
Out of nowhere, 3 guys with ski masks appear in the doorway of the living room. The 3 all had broad shoulders and looked like they could easily snap them in half like twigs. The one in the middle, the presumable leader, had a metal axe, while the two in the back had baseball bats, one metal, the other a hard wood.
The five of them backed up against the sofa, getting on the ground, putting their hands where the men could see them. Archie had his arms slightly in front of Betty and Veronica, as if to protect the two girls, while Jughead's hand was immediately intertwined with Y/n's as soon as the guys entered. He squeezed it tighter as her heavy breathing became louder, and she looked as if she was about to go into a full blown panic attack, and for good reason.
"You rich summer folks never learn do you? You come around once a year flashing more cash than we see in a year. Now... we're gonna take what we want, and we're gonna leave. If you behave, nobody get's their skull knocked in" The guy said, his dark brown eyes scanning across the line of friends, all looking scared for their lives.
"Fine, take what you want. We won't give you any trouble" Archie said, and for once Y/n was thankful he was there, for none of the others were brave enough to speak up.
A moment later Veronica was forced to go up to the bedroom (where she kept her purse), with the main intruder, who they had learned was named Cassidy, for he worked at the town store where her and Betty had gone earlier in the day.
The other four stayed in the living room, still on their knees, while the two guys watched them closely, tightly gripping their bats. Jug looked to the girl beside him, who had one single tear rolling down her cheek.
"Hey, it's ok. I'm here, and I promise, nothing is gonna happen to you. Ok?" He whispered to her, giving her hand a light squeeze. She nodded in response, looking to Veronica, who had just walked back in the room, Cassidy pushed her forward, towards the rest of them, Veronica's purse clutched in his hand.
He looked at the five of them, on their knees, scared for their lives. He felt powerful, like he was finally satisfying his hunger to feel important. He craved more, and as he looked at his hostages on the floor with the adrenaline pumping through his veins, he knew what he wanted to do.
His black boots clicked on the ground as he walked across the room, pointing his axe at the Y/h/c girl, whose eyes glossed over with tears.
"Stand up" he demanded, to which she shook her head no with pure terror written all over her face. "I said stand up" he repeated, this time louder and more aggressive.
She did as he ordered, standing up and pulling her hand away from her boyfriends, immediately looking to the floor, afraid of what was about to happen. Cassidy looked right into her eyes, tilting her head up with his hand, the way she flinched under his touch making him smirk in the most evil way possible.
"Now you're a pretty one, aren't you? Why don't you come with us..." he said lowly, but loud enough for everyone else to know what was going on.
"She's not going anywhere-" Jug yelled, stepping forward, making Cassidy chuckle. From the waistband of his jeans, he pulled out a gun, pointing it at the boy.
"Oh yeah? And what makes you so sure?"
Time stopped as Cassidy pulled Y/n forcefully by her arm, while she attempted to break free. The other two guys lagged behind, making sure none of them tried anything. The three of them- plus Y/n- ran out the door and towards the black van they'd driven in.
And of course, the beanie wearing serpent charged after them, all of his friends screaming for him not to go, in fear of losing both of their friends. He ran all the way across the huge lawn, the two guys already in the back, while Cassidy was pushing Y/n into the van.
Jughead tackled Cassidy at once, surprised he'd actually reached them in time. Cassidy fell to the ground at once, Jug landing beside him. The gun fell from his hand, and onto the pavement a few feet from them.
Jug grabbed the gun, pointing it at the three of them, looking to Y/n who was on the edge of the van. She hopped down, sprinting to him, though he was only a few yards away.
Cassidy angrily stood back up, not done fighting yet. "You think you're so tough don't you?" He taunted in a raspy voice, ready to lunge at the two of them.
"Come any closer and I'll shoot you. I swear- I'll do it." He warned, pushing his girlfriend behind him.
Not taking him seriously, Cassidy lunged towards them. The next thing heard was an ear-shattering gunshot, and much to everyone's surprise, Cassidy fell to the ground, clinging to his shoulder, where the blood was spilling out.
The two guys jumped out of the van, one dragging Cassidy into the van, the other getting in the drivers seat. Within seconds they were gone, their van speeding down the long, twisty driveway, and out of their lives, for what they hoped would be forever.
Jug dropped the gun onto the pavement below them, his arms wrapping around his girlfriend, who's life he just saved. They clung to each other, time non-existent in that very moment- for they had just looked death in the eyes, and somehow survived, for which they would be forever grateful.

They all packed their bags and immediately left, driving back home in a chilling silence. They all went their separate ways, wishing each other an emotional goodbye, just wanting the comfort and security of their own beds. Except Jughead, who refused to leave his girlfriend's side, going home with Y/n and Archie, Y/n clinging to his side like a leech.
The three of them sat on the Andrews' couch, explaining to Fred exactly what had happened on that terrible night. Archie was in the middle of retelling the part of the story in which she was almost kidnapped, when Y/n interrupted,
"Dad, can Jughead stay the night? Please?" He looked to his daughter sympathetically who was sitting on her boyfriend's lap, her head buried in his neck, terrified to let go.
"Yes, of course."
The pair went upstairs, tossing their bags down in the middle of Y/n's floor. Jug sat on the edge of her bed, motioning her over. She threw her legs around his waist, sitting on his lap and throwing her head onto his shoulder, while he squeezed her tight.
Silent tears began to fall from her eyes onto his maroon flannel and her chest began shaking as the tears turned into full sobs.
"Hey, hey, hey, listen to me. I got you. I promise, this time nothing's gonna happen to you." He whispered, rubbing her back as her tears continued to dampen his shirt.
"You don't know that!"
"You're right, I don't. But I do know one thing: we have tonight. If we die tomorrow, at least we'll have one more night together- that's all I could ever ask for; another night with you" He whispered, making her sit up from her original position so she was looking directly into his eyes.
"Do you believe that? Do you believe me?" He asked, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. She nodded, wrapping her arms around his neck as he brought their faces closer to one another, locking their lips together in an emotional kiss.
"At least we have one more night Juggie" She said, repeating what he'd said, and lying her head back on his shoulder.
A/n: that was like the longest imagine I've ever written, so thank you if you've made it this far... I don't like how the ending turned out but I hope you guys enjoyed:)
