Log Date 59-The Freelancer Program(Allora's POV)

I woke up looking at Cal who was towering over me. He smiled.

"Morning." he whispered.

"How long were you awake?" I asked

"Does it matter?"

"I guess not."

He laughed quietly.

"Any nightmares?"

"Thankfully not this time." I replied.

"Good." said Cal.

Cal then kissed my forehead and helped me up.

"I made pancakes."

"I'll take some." I said.

We ate some pancakes then went up to blue base. Cal looked at O'Malley's unused base like it was a bomb about to explode at any minute and wanted to keep away from it. I grabbed his hand to assure that it was okay. When we got there Wash was making bacon and eggs and everyone was happily chatting. Tucker on the other hand was having the worst hangover he's been in. After that we headed to the building where we met Cal. It's been a month or two now since then.

"Why are we here?" I asked.

"I have been exploring the Freelancer Program's data and I'm thinking about finishing it."

"You're kidding right?" I asked. "There's obviously a good reason why you shut it down."

"We're taking great caution this time." Walsh said.

"What about last time?" I asked.

"Let's just go."

We made our way through the halls. There was literally nothing there. Just old supplies and garbage littered everywhere. I wonder what happened...

"We're here." Wash said.

I looked around but saw a wall. A perfectly unharmed metal wall.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"It's a metal wall." Tucker said.

"Nope." Kira said pushing open the wall door thing.

We all walked in a giant room with tables with maps and weapons scattered on them with people with tiny glowing people on their shoulder.

"Welcome," Wash said. "These are the remaining freelancers that are left."

"This is Carolina, York, North, South, Florida, Tex, Church, and now California." Kira said.

"Cal?" asked York. "I thought he died."

"So did we until we found that Caboose was actually California."

I cringed at the name. I missed Caboose. I know he's here but it doesn't feel like he is. Cal joined the others as they welcomed him back.

"Okay." said Kira. "I would like to introduce the others."

"So this is Tucker, Sister, Grif, Sarge, Lopez, Simmons, and Angel-- I mean, Silverblood"

"Wait, Angel? The Merciful Angel? What happened to her?"

"We're trying to figure that out but for now let's get moving."

We all said our hello's then we walked outside.

"We'll be taking you to our new base." said Carolina. "If you have motion sickness, well, that's your problem."

Seconds later an aircraft landed and we all climbed in. I almost missed the aircraft when it took off but Cal grabbed my hand and I climbed in.

"Thanks." I said.

"I'm not leaving without you." Cal said.

After an hour we were still in the air. Grif was airsick, Simmons was annoying Sarge, the Freelancers were talking and Tucker and Sister also talked. I sat alone with Lopez talking with him in Spanish.. It was a three hour flight. We finally reached the base and we all hopped out.

"Welcome to the Freelancer Program." Wash said.

"Part Two." Kira added.

"I'll give you a tour." York said.

York took everyone on a tour while Kira, Cal, and Wash stayed behind with the others. I looked around in wonder. After the tour was over York showed us separate rooms. I closed the door behind me and flopped on my bed. I breathed in and out a couple of times. The flight took a lot out of me. I stood up and took out my phone. There were twenty six missed calls from my father. I frowned and set my phone down.

I walked out and wandered around. I decided to bring my gun whether it was necessary or not. I wanted to hold on to it rather than slinging it over my shoulder but it just didn't feel right. I eventually ended up holding it armed and ready. Me and Azura argued in my head for twenty minutes about it. I realised it had no idea where I was. I then heard a door shut behind me. Scared, I got out my gun and aimed at...

"Cal?" I asked.

"Woah, what the fuck are you doing?"

"Sorry." I said lowering my gun. "Just, nevermind."

I slung the gun over my shoulder.

"Are you okay?" Cal asked.

"Yeah, totally."

"Totally?" Cal asked.

"Um... I'm just walking." I said quickly. "Nothing else. I'm good."

Cal stared at me for a few minutes.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Cal. I'm fine."

"That doesn't sound very convincing Angel." Cal said. "Your fists are clenched and you're stif."

I didn't realise he could tell just because of two simple things. Cal walked over to me.

"You can tell me anything." Cal said.

I nodded. Cal took my hand and led me to an empty room. He closed the door and looked at me.

"We're alone." Cal said. "You can tell me anything. Just spit it out."

"Look, I just. I try not talking about it often. It's a sore subject for me."

"Espsilon?"

"Yes."

"What about him?"

"He's been calling and secretly visiting in person, invading my dreams, hacking into simulations. It's getting old."

Cal nodded like he understood. I look off my helm and sat down on the floor. Cal sat down next to me.

"I don't think that's the reason."

"Why?"

"You have that look in your eyes, and you mouth is clenched after you finish talking."

"Okay." I said. "You're right."

"Tell me Allora. I want to know."

"Promise not to get mad or just do anything?"

"Allora, you can trust me." Cal assured me.

"I've been secretly leaving so I can have a few rematches with Epsilon."

"God, Allora!" Cal said raising his voice. "Why can't you leave it at just that?"

"You said you wouldn't get mad." I said quietly.

"Yeah, but this is important to your life!" Cal yelled. "WHY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?!"

I clenched my fists and closed my eyes.

"I can see Just FINE." I shot back.

I opened them glaring at Cal. My eyes slightly red.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH WHAT YOU HAVE?"

"NOTHING!" I yelled. "I ALSO WANT MY OTHER FRIENDS AND FAMILY BACK!"

"SO I'M JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH?"

"NO! IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" I protested. "I JUST WANT MY LIFE BACK! WHY CAN'T YOU ACCEPT THAT?"

"BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU!"

"I'VE LOST SO MUCH! I THINK YOU CAN HANDLE THAT!" Azura spat out.

Azura. Why would she say that? Oh God.

Then Cal pushed me hard against a wall. Then I felt time freeze remembering what happened twenty million years back. I remember my father throwing me against the wall stabbing me with a hot knife, and my head being bashed against the marble floor over and over for five minutes. Then time sped up again.

"I JUST WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND HOW I FEEL!" Cal yelled.

I knelt down still thinking about the battle that started the next where Azura came to be. I looked back and the crater behind me was deep.

"Allora..."

I touched it and memories flooded my head. I cringed in the pain that was done to me. I then, without a second thought, punched the wall and kneeled down crying.

"Shit, Angel. I'm sorry, I..."

I slapped his hand away and ran off to my room. I slammed the door and tore off my armour. I no longer felt safe around Cal. I then fell on the ground and cried. The door then burst open with Kira rushing in and hugging me. She was silent but comforting. It reminded me of my mother. I looked in the doorway and saw Cal. His expression was tense but his eyes whispy from crying. He looked down and put on his helm. Without looking back he walked away.
