LET IT GO

Back at the castle courtyard, the crowd panicked as snow fell. Nick and Harry moving through them.

"Snow? It's...snow...in July." A crowd wallah says.

"...are you alright?" Nick asks Harry, who turned to him in shock but answered with a simple 'no'.

"Did you know?" He asks again, referring to his brother having powers. Yet again, Harry sadly answers with a no.

Nearby, the Duke flutters about in fright.

"Look! It's snowing! It's snowing! The King has cursed this land! He must be stopped!" He turned to his thugs. "You have to go after him."

Hearing that, Harry rushes up to the Duke. "Wait, no!"

The Duke hides behind his thugs and points out at Harry. "You! Is there sorcery in you, too? Are you a monster, too?"

Harry shook his head frantically. "No. No. I'm completely ordinary."

"That's right he is..." Nick realizes how that sounded so he added. "...in the best way." Harry smiles at that, then faces the Duke again.

"...and my brother's not a monster."

"He nearly killed me!"

"You slipped on ice."

"His ice!"

Harry had enough of the arguing, so he spoke up to try make them understand. "It was an accident. He was scared. He didn't mean it. He didn't mean any of this...tonight was my fault. I pushed him. So I'm the one who needs to go after him."

"Yes. Fine. Do." Agreed the Duke.

"What?" Nick turns to the boy in shock.

Harry already ordered the Royal handler to bring him his horse.

"Harry, no. It's too dangerous."

"Zayn's not dangerous. I'll bring him back, and I'll make this right."

The Royal handler comes back with Harry's horse and a cloak.

"I'm coming with you."

"No, I need you here to take care of Arendelle." Nick sees the desperation in his eyes. He gave in with a nod. "...on my honor."

Harry throws on the cloak and hops right onto his horse, coronation suit and all. He then turned to the crowd.

"I leave Prince Nick in charge!"

Nick took his hand and said before letting him go. "Are you sure you can trust him? I don't want you getting hurt."

Harry sends him a small smile. "He's my brother; he would never hurt me."

With that said, he snaps the reins and rides out, Nick watching after him.

High up in the mountains, well above the snow-line, a small figure climbs the highest peak. Zayn finally stops to look around, catching his breath as he begins singing.

"The snow glows white on the mountain tonight, not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation and it looks like I'm the king.

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside.
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried...

Don't let them in,
Don't let them see,
Be the good guy you always have to be.
Conceal,
Don't feel,
Don't let them know...
Well, now they know."

Zayn takes off his glove and throws it into the air.

"Let it go. Let it go.
Can't hold it back anymore."

He creates a snowman, just like the one he made with Harry when they were little.

"Let it go. Let it go.
Turn away and slam the door.
I don't care what they're going to say.
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway."

Zayn lets his cape fly back into the wind, now making his way higher up the mountain.

"It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small.
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all.
It's time to see what I can do,
To test the limits and break through.
No right, no wrong, no rules for me...
I'm free!"

Zayn creates ice steps and climbs them to walk over a deep abyss.

"Let it go! Let it go!
I am one with the wind and sky.
Let it go! Let it go!
You'll never see me cry.
Here I stand and here I stay."

He slams his foot down and forms a giant snowflake.

"Let the storm rage on..."

In a flurry of creative release, he raises the snowflake on ice beams, build walls, archways, a glistening chandelier, and an intricate ceiling that leaves the sky visible.

"My power flurries through the air into the ground.
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around.
And one thought crystalizes like an icy blast-"

Standing firmly in his mighty ice palace, Zayn removes his crown and throws it away.

"I'm never going back,
The past is in the past!"

He runs his fingers through his hair and creates a new suit made of ice.

"Let it go! Let it go!
And I'll rise like the break of dawn.
Let it go! Let it go!"

The sun rises. Zayn struts out onto a balcony and into the light.

"That perfect boy is gone.
Here I stand in the light of day.
Let the storm rage on!!!
The cold never bothered me anyway."

He turns and slams his ice palace doors. Knowing that he doesn't have to worry about hurting anyone ever again. He's free.

~❄~❄~❄~❄~❄~❄~

Harry shivers as he rides his horse through two feet of snow deep inside the fjord forest.

"Zayn! Zayn! It's me, Harry...your brother who didn't mean to make you freeze the summer. I'm sorry. It's all my f-f-f-f-f-fault."

Minutes passed, Harry and the horse struggle through a wooden area. Suddenly, the young Prince hears a wolf howl.

"Of course, none of this would have happened if he'd just told me his secret...ha...he's a stinker."

A branch of a nearby tree snaps and startles the horse. Harry gets flung off, landing face down in the snow. He sits up, spitting out snow then sees his horse running away.

"Oh no. No. No. No. Come back. No. No. No. No.... Oooo-kay." He gave up, realizing his horse wouldn't come back. He grabs onto a branch of a leaning conifer, tries to pull himself to his feet, but the tree snaps upright and releases all it's snow onto him, getting a groan to escape Harry's throat.
_______

The Northern Lights shine as Harry struggles, out of breath, reaching the top of a hill.

"Snow, it had to be snow, he couldn't have had tr-tr-tropical magic that covered the f-f-fjords in white sand and warm--"

In the distance, he could see smoke rising. "Fire!" He breathes out in relief. His attempts of going down the snow slope faster resulted for him to tumble down the hill, landing with a crash in an icy stream at the bottom.

"Cold, cold, cold, cold, cold..." He shivers, his body covered in snow from him rolling down the hill. He looked as if he was stuck in a giant snowball.

Later, Harry found the small building and stable that produced the smoke he saw from atop the hill. He shuffles up the building, shaking the snow off his body then read the sign above him.

"Wandering Corden's Trading Post."

Snow drops off a smaller sign. He reads it and says happily.

"Ooh! And Sauna..."

Harry steps cautiously through the door--which hits his frozen butt and knocks him into the center of the shop. He looks around to find that the only supplies being sold were for summer.

"Hoo hoo."

The Prince turns to see a bright-faced fellow sitting low behind the counter, fingers tip to tip.

"Big summer blow out. Half off swimming suits, clogs, and a sun balm of my own invention, yah?"

"Oh, great. For now, how about boots. Winter boots...and clothing?"

The fellow looked slightly disappointed but pointed to a corner. "That would be in our winter department."

The winter department contains one outfit, a pick ax, and a lonely pair of boots.

"Oh. Um, I was just wondering; has another young man, the King perhaps, I don't know, passed through here?"

He brings the clothes and boots to the counter.

"Only one crazy enough to be out in this storm is you, lad?"

The front door suddenly blows open and in walks a mass of a man covered in ice. Underneath is none other than Louis.

"You and this fellow...hoo hoo. Big summer blow out."

Louis walks right up to Harry, saying in his face. "Carrots."

"Huh?"

"Behind you."

"Oh, right. Excuse me."

Harry moves out of Louis' way, as the slightly shorter man grabs a bunch of carrots, tosses them on the counter, then moves through the place, gathering other supplies.

"A real howler in July, yah? Where ever could it be coming from?" The bright-faced man also known as Corden, James Corden, asks the ice harvester.

"The North Mountain."

"North Mountain." Harry mumbles to himself.

Louis brings his supplies to the counter. Corden counts on his fingers.

"That'll be forty."

"Forty? No, ten."

James began to explain nicely to him, "oh dear, that's no good. See these are from our winter stock, where supply and demand have a big problem."

"You want to talk about supply and demand problem? I sell ice for a living." Louis motions out the window, where we could see the blocks of ice on his sled, covered in snow.

"Ooh, that's a rough business to be in right now." Harry speaks up, trying to get in on the conversation when he sees the look Louis was giving him. "I mean, that is really...ahem. That's unfortunate."

"Still forty. But I will throw in a visit to Corden's sauna. Hoo hoo! Hi family!"

Corden's family peek through the steam covered window. "Hoo hoo!"

"...ten's all I got. Help me out."

James isolates the carrots. "Ten will get you this and no more."

Louis seethes. Stalemate.

"Okay, just tell me one thing; why was happening on the North Mountain? Did it seem magical?" Harry brings up another conversation again.

Louis pulls down his scarf and gives Harry a firm answer.

"Yes! Now, back up while I deal with this crook here."

Corden stands up, revealing a not so tall figure, but taller than Louis will ever be.

"What did you call me?"

James stomps out the door, pushing Louis with both hands to get him out of his little shop.

"Okay. Okay, I'm-ow! Whoa!"

The older man gives one harsh push that got Louis face-planting in the snow.

"Bye bye."

Corden slams the door. Louis sits up just as his reindeer, Kevin, canters over, snorts, and nudges him, expectantly.

"No Kev, I didn't get your carrots."

Kevin huffs in his face. Louis turns away and sees something. He points to a dilapidated barn.

"But I did find us a place to sleep. And it's free."

Back inside the Trading Post and Sauna, Harry stands watching Corden squeeze behind the counter and sits down.

"I'm sorry about this violence. I will add a quart of lutefisk, so we'll have good feelings. Just the outfit and boots, yah?"

Harry looks between Louis' supplies and the door, thinking maybe he'll help me if I help him first.
______

Louis relaxes on a bed of hay, playing his lute and singing to (and for) Kevin.

"Reindeers are better than people.
Kev, don't you think that's true?"

"Yeah, people will beat you and curse you and cheat you. Every one of em's bad, except you."

"Oh, thanks, buddy." He smiled, patting the reindeer's head. It's like he knew exactly what the big animal was thinking. Even though he was speaking for himself and Kevin.

"But people smell better than reindeers. Kev, don't you think I'm right?"

"That's once again true, for all except you."

"You got me. Let's call it a night."

"Good night."

"Don't let the frostbite bite."

Just as Louis and Kevin were drifting to sleep, the door opens, and in comes Harry, now wearing the winter clothes and boots.

"Nice duet."

Louis sits up with a start to see who it is.

"Oh, it's just you. What do you want?"

Building up the courage to speak, Harry answers firmly. "I want you to take me up the North Mountain."

"I don't take people places." Louis simply says, laying back and closing his eyes when a sack of supplies lands on his lap, making him let out an 'umph' sound.

He sits back up, looks inside the bag, then turns to Harry.

"Take me up the North Mountain...please."

Louis only eyes him. He clearly doesn't take orders.

"Look, I know how to stop this winter."

He considers, lies back down, and pulls his hat over his eyes.

"We leave at dawn...and you forgot the carrots for Kevin."

On cue, a bag of carrots hits Louis in the face.

"Ugh!"

"Oops. Sorry. Sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't--" no, don't show any sign of weakness, Harry. "We leave now. Right now."

He steps back outside and waits, anxiously. Was his tone demanding enough? Gosh, he hoped it was. He just wants to bring his brother back to unfreeze everything and maybe, just maybe, build their friendship back as loving brothers, like they used to be.

Yay! This is my favorite chapter so far! Cause Larry met! Whooo!!! I'm over here contemplating if I should try to get a little bit of 'oops and hi' into the story. Well, there's still a long way to go! I'm sure I can get it in there somewhere.

Also, do you like how I'm writing this? I noticed that I'm not putting much insight of what the characters are thinking of the happenings that are, well, happening to them.

Let me remind y'all that I'm literally basing this off of the real script of Frozen (Google h
