Runa Carlyle had heard over and over from her family that she was running out of time. She was thirty-seven years old and, according to her parents, well overdue for marriage. Both of her younger siblings were married and had children, but Runa simply hadn't met that person she felt she could spend forever with. She was starting to get worried. Secretly, she wanted the same things that her parents wanted for her: an amazing husband—or wife, she wasn't picky—and lots of children.

But it hadn't happened yet and she was scared. More scared than she would ever let on. So when on her second date with the actor, Chris Hemsworth, ended with an abrupt proposal, she said yes.

The only problem: he didn't really ask.

The supposed proposal that had taken the world by storm was really the actor kneeling to pick up a ring that a woman passing by had dropped, and Runa, returning from the bathroom, mistaking it for a proposal. But the damage was done. A video of the incident had surfaced on the web and destroyed any hope Chris had for keeping the accident lowkey.

Runa didn't know it was an accident. She was drowning in pressure and well wishes from her friends and family and, honestly, she felt like running away. She wasn't sure exactly how she felt or if she was ready for this, but she couldn't back out now. Not when she's raised everyone's hopes so high.

Chris couldn't believe he'd messed up so horribly. He didn't really want to get married to her, but the news had traveled fast and his fans reacted well to the idea of the actor finally getting married. So his manager came up with the idea for Chris to go along with it. The idea was to get married to the woman that he barely knew and eventually have a quick but amicable split.

The only hitch in the plan is that Runa isn't so sure that she wants to get married and Chris isn't so sure that he doesn't.

If ya'll remember this story, you'll know that I didn't get very far because I wasn't happy with it at all, but now that we're back I'm gonna be working really hard to make sure that this story is one that I really, truly love, so get hyped because I'm very excited for this story because there are gonna be a lot of new aspects that I don't really dive into in my stories, and I'm just very excited because this is gonna push my boundaries and I'm very excited for it!

This story is going to be part of a larger social media series, so while you won't see any characters from other stories appear in this one, you will see these characters reappear in other stories, so keep an eye out for that, but all of them can be read as standalones.
