     YU-RI HAD ALWAYS DONE EVERYTHING RIGHT. She studied hard, worked a part-time job, and saved every penny for her future. She dreamed of going to university, of making a name for herself. But her plans were shattered when her father, Jae-yeong, fell ill. Jae-yeong had always been a sickly man. Before marrying Yu-ri's stepmother, Min-ji, he worked three jobs to make sure Yu-ri had everything she needed. It had been four years since Jae-yeong married Min-ji, and the Jeong family had started to feel a sense of normalcy. But, like all good things, it came to an end.
     Two months ago, Jae-yeong collapsed at work. After tests, the doctors diagnosed him with stage three lung cancer, his years of bad decisions catching up on him. Min-ji was working a minimum wage job, she loved her husband dearly but couldn't afford his treatments. Just when things seemed hopeless, an old colleague of hers reached out, letting her know a side job she could do to help make ends meet. The only catch: she couldn't tell anyone about it.
     Min-ji joined the Squid Game as a guard, using her background in the police force and impeccable aim to provide for her family. Even when she learns what exactly the job entails, she convinced herself that her husband's survival depended on her being there. She needed to make enough money for his treatment, even if it meant risking everything.
     But everything changed when Min-ji spotted Yu-ri during the "Red Light, Green Light" game. Seeing her stepdaughter on that bloody field Min-ji realised that it wouldn't matter if she got the money for her husband's treatment, he would be just as gone if his daughter didn't make it home.
     She vowed that she would get Yu-ri out of there.

This fic has gone through a lot of changes, the main characters names have changed so much !!! I really love Min-ji and Yu-ri! They won't have a love interest because Min-ji is happily married and Yu-ri is younger than everyone else but I will still be writing friendships and stuff.

Yu-ri is on team Thanos so she's close with Se-mi and Min-su!

I might also introduce my other ocs Soo Seon-hui and Cha Min-ho at some point so don't be surprised if they randomly appear.
