Background:
Y/n (Kosei) Shishi is the son of Kakeru Shishi and Shiko Shishi. As a child, he always enjoyed talking to animals, as he had the rare ability to understand what they were saying and feeling. While some kids thought it was cool, others didn't quite understand it. He often hung out with a girl who spoke Russian. One day, feeling hungry, Y/n wandered through a park and discovered a fish tail. Deciding to take a bite, he unknowingly awakened someone a kid with shark-like features. Apologizing for his actions, Y/n met the girl, who introduced herself as Ellen. From that day forward, they became close friends.

Y/n frequently helped his dad at the Shishi Care Vet Clinic, where he learned how to care for and heal animals. His compassion extended to his friends' and neighbors' pets, always doing his best to help them. One day, while walking, Y/n found a red jewel containing a lion inside. He decided to keep it as a lucky charm.

One afternoon, on his way home, Y/n saw a group of kids laughing while beating up a Litleo. Upset by the scene, he rushed to defend the Pokémon, driving the bullies away. From that day on, Litleo refused to leave his side, and Y/n adopted it, naming it Simba.

Years passed, and Y/n continued to assist his father at the clinic, eventually becoming a veterinary assistant. One day, while out on an errand, Y/n spotted an animal running away from the zoo. Determined to help, he tried to catch it without hurting the creature. During this pursuit, Y/n stumbled upon a portal that transported him to a Sky Island. There, he encountered GaoLion, a giant lion. While initially frightened, Y/n was soon introduced to Tetomu and a child named Futaro, who revealed that he had been chosen by GaoLion to become the next GaoRanger. To Y/n's surprise, Futaro was not just a child but also a god.

Tetomu explained that the monsters defeated by the past GaoRangers had returned, bringing chaos to both humans and animals alike. Though Y/n was confused by the revelation, he accepted his new role as a GaoRanger and vowed to protect the world from these threats.
