Ava was in darkness at first that was all she could see until her surroundings came into focus and she noticed that she was in a cottage of some sort, there was blood and dead bodies everywhere and to Ava, it looked like something straight out of Criminal Minds or CSI or something like that.

Ava noticed two men enter the cottage, look around, and are disgusted by the bloody scene, the man on the left was the first to speak "All of my efforts to keep this family concealed, yet debauchery like this has led Father directly to us."

They seemed to look right through Ava as the other man shouted "Kol! Show yourself! This is no time for games."

After a moment the man whom Ava assumed was Kol stumbled into the room, dropping the body of a woman as he did. Ava looked at the newcomer and as soon as her eyes were on him, it was like all the air just evaporated from her lungs, leaving her breathless... this was the single most gorgeous man that she had ever laid her eyes on.

She was snapped out of it by the sound of his voice which sent a shiver down her spine and not necessarily the bad kind of shiver either. "Come, come, brother! It's always time for games!" the brunette noted that the other two must be Kol's brothers even if she didn't know their names yet. Kol takes a swig from a nearby mug of alcohol and lifts it toward them in a toast.

Elijah gave his youngest brother an unimpressed look "We must leave. Mikael is very nearly upon us."

Kol sits down and props his feet on the table, "If Mikael were upon us, I imagine Niklaus would be quite dead."

'Ahh so one of them is named Niklaus.' The blond man spoke, an angry tone in his voice "I barely escaped! Father left the head of my horse on a pike in the town square!" Ava nodded, "okay so that one is Niklaus, now just to figure out the other one's name." she spoke aloud since no one else could see her.

Kol spoke in a mocking voice "He killed poor Theo? What a beast! But then, Father's always hated you most. Surely, he'll chase you if you flee, leaving me here. Perhaps I'll make myself mayor?"

Ava snorted, she didn't know what it was, but she already liked Kol, just thinking about him made her feel, warm and happy and she knew that they would get along really well if they were to meet for real in person. While Ava was amused by the strange man, Elijah was less than amused with his brother "Rebekah and Finn have already boarded the ship. It is imperative that we remain together."

Kol rose to his feet and walked toward Klaus "Rebekah does what she's told because she fears Nik. And Finn is in no position to argue, given the dagger in his heart." He smiles wryly "I'll take my chances here!"

Ava had no clue what was going on but for some reason a feeling of dread spread through her chest as Kol turns to walk away, but Elijah is blocking his path. He then turns back around to find Klaus blocking the other way. Kol's eyes widen in alarm once he realizes what they're intending to do.

Klaus looked at him a smug tone in his voice "I find it amusing that you think you have a choice." Klaus pulls out the dagger and holds it up to Kol's chest, while Elijah holds Kol down from behind.

Kol is furious "No! I swear to you, the day will come when I'm not so easily subdued! And on that day, I will make you suffer!"

"Perhaps! But today is not that day." Klaus to him before he shoves the dagger into Kol's heart, and he screams as he begins to desiccate.

Ava shot up in Caroline's bed breathing heavily, she felt an ache in her chest right where Kol got stabbed in her weird dream thing. "Aves are you okay?" Caroline questioned sleepily, having been woken when the girl shot up in the bed.

She rubbed over her heart and the ache went away "yeah Care, I'm good, just had a really weird dream, but it beats the nightmare of the crash, so I'll take it."

The blonde looked at her "what was it about, your dream?"

Ava let out a breath, "well at first it was dark, and then my surrounding came into to focus and I was in this cottage that looked like it from another century and there was blood and dead bodies everywhere it looked like something straight out of Criminal Minds or CSI, there were these three men, they were brothers from what I gathered they conversed for a bit and then one of them got stabbed in the heart with a dagger and then his skin turned all grey and veiny it was weird but even weirder was when I woke up I felt pain in my chest like I was the one that got stabbed."

"That was weird... were they at least attractive?"

"Yes, Caroline they were all attractive but the one that got stabbed, when I looked at him for the first time it was like I was breathless, like I have never seen a man that gorgeous." Then Ava noticed the time, "crap we gotta get up and get ready for school and still need to go by my place and pick up my school stuff since I dropped it off when we picked up my outfit for the bonfire last night."

"You can use the shower first Aves and borrow an outfit from my closet, I'll pick it out while you're in the shower."

"All right thanks Care." Then she got up and walked into the bathroom taking a shower, once she was finished with her shower, she wrapped a towel around her and stepped into the bedroom, where Caroline had laid out an outfit on the bed.

"There you go, now I will shower and get ready, and we can drop by your place after we both get ready." Caroline disappeared into the bathroom with her own clothes for the day.

Ava nodded in approval of the outfit Caroline had picked out for her. 

After Ava got dressed, she did her hair and makeup, she had just finished when Caroline walked out of the bathroom dressed and ready as well.

The two girls were out the door and Caroline drove to Ava's house so she could pick up her school stuff. The brunette had got her things and was headed back out when Jenna stopped her. "Ava, I thought you slept over at Caroline's?"

Ava smiled at her aunt "Hey, Aunt J, I did but I had to pick up my stuff for school since I dropped it off last night when we stopped by to pick up the outfit that I was wearing to the bonfire."

"Ahh gotcha," the strawberry blonde nodded "well since you're here, I need an opinion."

Ava nodded "all right hit me with it."

"Do I look adult? As in respectfully parental?"

"Depends, where are you going?"

"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference."

Ava gave her a look "wow okay, we literally just started back."

Jenna shrugged "they called and asked me to come so I'm going, all right now, Hair up or down?"

Jenna puts her hair up. "Sexy stewardess." Then lets it down again "Boozy housewife."

"Up It is, then thank you, Ava, you're feisty today."

Ava grinned at her "I feel good, Aunt J, I had this weird dream last night, and I've just felt lighter ever since I woke up this morning, I will tell you all about the dream later but I am going to be late if I don't get back to Caroline now, where is Jeremy I am gonna see if he needs a lift."

"You better, and don't spare any detail, and don't bother he left early, said something about getting to wood shop early to finish a birdhouse." Seeing the look that Ava was giving her she paused "there is no woodshop is there?"

"Nope, Aunt J there isn't... I really need to go but love you Aunt J."

"Yeah... love you too Ava." Then Ava ran out of the house and back to Caroline's car.

"Sorry Care got held up by Aunt J." the blonde laughed but brushed the apology off and drove to school.

They arrived just in time for Ava to go to her locker and get to History before the late bell rang. Ava dropped down into her seat with a sigh at least she wasn't late, and Mr. Tanner couldn't give her detention for it.

Mr. Tanner started his lecture right after the bell rang, "Originally discovered nearly 5 centuries ago, it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration." He noticed that Elena and Stefan weren't paying attention, "Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?"

Elena and Stefan dropped their gaze, making Ava smirk at them, she knew something was up with the green-eyed Salvatore, how else could he have saved them with no diving equipment, but she also knew that it was necessarily any of her business and wouldn't push him for answers.

Ava was broken out of her thoughts by the bell ringing she hadn't realized that she had been that distracted by her thoughts, but she gathered up her things and walked out of the classroom.

Ava joined up with Caroline and Bonnie in time to hear Caroline say, "I'm confused. Are you psychic or clairvoyant?"

She didn't say anything just linked arms with both of her friends, as Bonnie answered Caroline, "Technically, Grams says I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something. Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor so I kinda tuned out. Crazy family, yes. Witches? I don't think so."

"Dude being a witch would be wicked." They both laughed at Ava, "I wish I was a witch... I'd hex the people that annoyed me." Bonnie shook her head with an amused smile, she knew that the brunette would totally do that if she were indeed a witch.

After school was over Ava sat at a table outside the grill with Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie, waiter had just placed her chili cheese fries on the table in front of her "thank you." Ava nodded at him before he walked away and she grabbed a bottle of hot sauce from the table and pour a generous amount onto her fries before placing the bottle back on the table. Ava was the type of person that put hot sauce on nearly everything.

Bonnie looked at Elena as Ava started eating her fries, " Well, I was talking to Grams, and she said the comet is a sign of impending doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity."

Caroline scoffed not believing what Bonnie said for a second "Yeah, and then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens." Then the blonde looked at the doppelganger "So then what?"

"So, then nothing." That was the answer that she got.

The blonde gave her a look "You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy-feely of any kind?"

Elena shook her head "nope. We didn't go there."

Caroline looks at her in disbelief "You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy-feely of any kind?"

"We just talked for hours."

Ava gave her sister a look "seriously Lena?"

Caroline motioned to Ava, "she gets it, what is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already! Ok, it's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex!"

Elena gave the two of them a look "profound!"

Ava shrugged "Care as a point, Lena it's not that difficult."

Elena got up pulling Ava up with her, Bonnie looked at her "where are you going?"

Ava pouted at being pulled away from her fries, "Caroline and Ava are right. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying what I was going to do."

Ava laughed "she just called Stefan easy." Then pouted again as she was dragged away from her precious hot sauce-covered fries. "My fries... I wasn't done with those." Bonnie and Caroline shared a look after the Gilbert sisters were out of sight and pulled the fries across the table and finished them off.

Elena rolled her eyes ignoring her sister's pouting as she drove to the Salvatore Boarding house to talk to Stefan.

They pulled into the driveway and Elena gave her sister a look "seriously your pouting over fries?"

"I wasn't finished with them so yes I am."

"I will buy you more fries the next time we're at the grill just stop with the pouting, it's childish."

Ava ignored the childish comment since she was promised more fires later "okay." They got out of the car and walked up to the door, Elena knocked, and the door opened slightly, Elena went to walk in but Ava, stopped her "uhhh maybe we shouldn't just walk into the house there could be a serial killer in there and it's rude barging uninvited."

"The door is open Ava, it's fine." Then she walked in anyway. "Stefan? Stefan?" Ava sighed and walked in behind her. A crow flew into the house behind the girls making them both turn around to find Damon standing there.

Ava smiled at the elder Salvatore, while Elena looked at him wide-eyed. "I...I'm sorry for barging in. The door was..." she noticed the door was now closed "open."

Ava rolled her eyes "I'm sorry about that I told her barging in was rude," then she looked at Elena "he probably came in right behind us and closed the door."

Damon looked at the two of them, "You must be Elena. I'm Damon, Stefan's brother. And hello again Ava."

Elena looked at her sister confused "you two know each other?"

Ava nodded "you too Damon and yeah we met last night at the grill after the bonfire."

Elena nodded at her sister before looking at Damon again "He didn't tell me he had a brother"

Ava cut in again "actually if you had paid attention to what he said, he never denied having a sibling, Stefan just said 'none that I talk to' meaning he had a brother or sister that he wasn't on speaking terms with."

Damon smirked at the brunette, he liked her attitude, "Well, Stefan's not one to brag. Please, come. I'm sure Stefan will be along any second."

Elena looked around the room "Wow. This is your living room?"

"It's pretty nice," Ava agreed.

Damon shrugged looking at Elena still very surprised that she looked almost like a carbon copy of Katherine. "Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction. It's a little kitschy for my taste. I see why my brother's so smitten. It's about time. For a while there, I never thought he'd get over the last one. Nearly destroyed him."

Elena gave him a look "the last one?"

"Yeah. Katherine, his girlfriend? Oh, you two haven't had the awkward ex's conversation yet."

Ava narrowed her eyes, as Elena shook her head "nope."

"Oops. Well, I'm sure it'll come up now. Or maybe he didn't want to tell you because he didn't want you to think he was on the rebound. We all know how those relationships end."

The way it sounded to Ava was that Damon was trying to suggest that Stefan was on the rebound. "You say it like every relationship is doomed to end."

He shrugged at the green-eyed brunette "I'm a fatalist. Hello, Stefan."

Stefan came into view, "Elena, Ava. I didn't know you were coming over."

Elena looked at him "I know. I should have called, I just..."

Ava shrugged unbothered "I didn't want to come but Elena made me."

Damon smirked looking at the two girls "Oh, don't be silly, you're both welcome any time, aren't they Stefan? You know, I should break out the family photo albums or some home movies. But...I have to warn you. He wasn't always such a looker."

Ava grinned "oooh I might take you up on that Damon, I need to see baby, Stefan." Damon smirked at her, yeah, he and the green-eyed Gilbert are going to be good friends he can already tell.

Stefan looked between the sisters "Thank you for stopping by, Elena, Ava. Nice to see you both."

After that, the girls left the boarding house and headed back home. 

Ava had just joined Elena and Jenna in the kitchen, as Elena was telling or more like complaining to Jenna about Stefan "He's on the rebound and has raging family issues."

Jenna looked at the doppelganger "Well, at least it's an ex-girlfriend. Wait till you date a guy with mommy issues or cheating issues. Or amphetamine issues."

Ava smirked at her sister "I mean it could be worse Lena... he could be a serial killer." Elena and Jenna, both give her concerning looks, but Ava just shrugged popping a grape into her mouth.

Jeremy walked into the house catching Jenna's attention, "Jeremy? Jeremy, where were you?"

Jeremy stopped at the bottom of the stairs and turned to look at her "More stoner stories? Look, Jenna, I get it, you were cool. And so that's...that's cool."

He starts walking up the stairs, "Oh, no, no, no!" Jenna throws an apple at Jeremy. It hit him making Ava snort.

"Nice shot Aunt J."

"Ow! Why? Why...why did you do that?" and then he gave Ava a playful glare and tossed the apple back at her, but Ava caught it and stuck her tongue out at Jeremy.

Jenna gave him a serious look "Listen up! Quit ditching class or you're grounded. No discussion."

"Parental authority, I like it. Sleep tight." And then Jeremy disappeared up the stairs. Elena went upstairs not too long after that leaving the green-eyed Gilbert in the kitchen with their aunt.

Jenna looked at her "all right Ava, now spill about this dream you had."

Ava laughed "all right, so the setting was like from a different century or something that was the first thing I noticed and second it looked like a scene straight out of Criminal Minds and then there were these two guys that entered and called out for another guy who entered from a different room, they were brothers from what I gathered, one of them was named Niklaus and I didn't get the other ones name and then last ones name was Kol, and the weird part was when I saw him for the first time it was like the air just evaporated out of my lungs... he was so gorgeous like the most gorgeous man I have ever seen in my life and then the three conversed for a bit and Niklaus pulled out a dagger and the other one held Kol and they stabbed him in the heart with the dagger and he turned all grey and veiny and then I woke up and it felt like I was the one that was stabbed in the chest, for about 2 minutes there was a dull ache in my chest before it went away, that was the weirdest part."

Jenna looked at her for a moment "wow, Ava that was really weird and then you said you've felt lighter since then?"

Ava nodded "yeah like I said it was weird." Ava headed up to her room after bidding her aunt goodnight not too long after they finished talking about her dream.

Ava was with Caroline the next day handing out flyers for the comet, the blonde looked at her best friend "so have you had any more weird dreams?"

Ava shook her head "not so far but I'll let you know if it happens again Care." Caroline nodded accepting the answer. Ava saw Damon and smiled at him "I'll be right back Care."

"Okay."

Ava walked up to the elder Salvatore "Hi Damon, have a flyer." She handed him a flyer.

"Hi, there little Gilbert." He took the flyer from her, "thanks for the flyer."

"of course, it was nice to see you, Damon, enjoy the comet I have more flyers to hand out, I'll see you around, just wanted to say hi." Then she walked back over to Caroline.

"Who was that?"
"Damon Salvatore, Stefan's older brother... met him after the bonfire at the grill the other night."

Caroline nodded "ahh gotcha." And they went back to handing out flyers. A little while later the two walk up, "Hey, Aves and I got some candles."

"That we did," they hand them some candles. Caroline and Ava, lit each other's candles, while Elena smiled at them, "Hi, Hey."

"Hey." Matt smiled at his ex-girlfriend and then he lit her candle.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Elena lights someone else's candle. She looks up and sees Stefan. "Thank you. Hi."

"Hi." Ava took that as a cue and grabbed Caroline's arm and pulled her away to give them a chance to talk alone.

Ava sat at a table with her friends and Jeremy walked up "hey, has anyone seen Vicki?"

Ava narrowed her eyes suspiciously at her brother "why are you looking for her?"

Tyler glared at him "you're her stalker. You tell us."

Jeremy didn't pay attention to his sister's question, too worried about Vicki "I can't find her."

Tyler gave him a smug look "She probably found somebody else to party with. Sorry, pill pusher, I guess you've been replaced."

Ava gave him a disappointed look "pill pusher? Jer what's that about?"

He saw the look Ava was giving but didn't meet her eye as Elena came in a lot harder than Ava, "What's with the pill pusher?"

"Ask him." Was what Tyler said.

Jeremy glared at the older boy "You wanna do this right now?"

Ava sighed, she knew about the drugs but he had promised her that he was getting better, that was why she didn't say anything about it, she knew that it was part of his grieving process but he told her that he was gonna stop.

Elena glared at her brother "are you dealing?"

Tyler once again gave him a smug look "She's never gonna go for you."

Jeremy gave him a smug look back "She already did. Over and over and over again."

Tyler scoffed "yeah, right."

The words didn't register with Ava at first until Caroline, said "You slept with Vicki Donovan? I mean, Vicki Donovan slept with you?"

Ava's face turned cold, as anger bristled up in her, Jeremy was 15, her baby brother was basically a child, a minor, and Vicki Donovan was 18 a legal adult which means that she an 18-year-old slept with a minor which was illegal.

The world faded around Ava as the anger pumped through her veins, and she clenched her fists, Caroline was the first to notice her best friend's silence and she saw the look on Ava's face and winced she definitely didn't want to be Vicki when Ava got her hands on her, judging by the look on her face, steam would be pouring from Ava's ears if it were possible.

Caroline got her attention, "Aves?"

She shook her head "what?"

"You alright?"

"Fine, but she's dead the next time I see her." Then she got up and walked over to her brother, who was alone by the bar, "Hey."

"Aves."

"You promised me, that you were doing better... what happened? And please do not say, Vicki Donovan, that is the last name I want to hear right now."

He sighed and looked down not saying anything for a moment "why are you so mad?"

The green-eyed Gilbert gave him a look "you are 15 Jeremy. 15 a minor and she's 18 a legal adult, it doesn't matter if it was consensual or not, you're underage and she's an adult which makes that statutory rape... she the legal adult who should know better took advantage of you while you were vulnerable, that is why I'm so mad."

"She didn't make me do anything that I didn't want to do Aves."

"She still took advantage of you."

Jeremy rolled his eyes and walked away from her "whatever."

Ava blew out a breath, she was so punching that bitch right in her creepy, pedophile face, the next time she saw her, whatever creepy relationship Vicki had with her baby brother was going to stop if Ava had anything to do with it, even if she had to tell the sheriff about it and get Vicki arrested it was going to stop.

She plopped back down in her seat, Caroline looked up "so how'd it go?"

"could have gone better, to be honest."

Bonnie joined the two at their table and Caroline looked at her "Ugh, it's just so much drama. Ever notice how the druggies are the biggest attention whores?"

Ava snorted in agreement "so true Care, so true."

Bonnie nodded "yeah."

Stefan walked up to them "Excuse me, hi."

Ava gave him a tight smile, anger still pumping through her "Hi."

"Um, have you guys seen Elena?" the green-eyed Salvatore questioned.

Ava shook her head "nope, not since earlier, sorry."

Bonnie looked at him "I think she went home. I'm gonna give you Elena's cell number and her email. She is big on texting, and you can tell her..."I said so".

Stefan smiled at her "thank you." Bonnie touches Stefan's hand and has a vision. The vampire looks at her "you, ok?"

"What happened to you? That's so rude. I'm sorry. Excuse me." Then she left in a hurry.

Caroline looked at him "Yeah, she kind of wigs out. It's like her thing." And then Stefan left the grill as well.

Ava looked at Caroline "you wanna sleepover and have a Grey's marathon?"

The blonde nodded "yes please, I feel we both need some McSteamy in our lives as a distraction right now." Ava snorted and they left the grill and headed to the Gilbert household.

Jenna was in the kitchen, "Care is gonna stay over if that's okay?"

Jenna smiled at the two girls "it's fine, as long as Sheriff Forbes is okay with it."

"I texted and she said it was fine." Jenna nodded and the two bid her goodnight and went up to Ava's room and changed into pajama's and Ava turned on Grey's so they could start their marathon.
