Molly felt a weight lift off her shoulders knowing that after over a year of Cobra Kai terrorizing the valley, Cobra Kai was officially gone for good.
With Cobra Kai gone, everyone slowly started to make their way to Miyagi-Do. The team almost doubled in size since Silver got locked up.
And one of the students that came trotting into Miyagi-Do was Tory Nichols.
Tory never spoke a word to Molly, even when they were all working together in groups. Granted, Molly never tried to talk to Tory either–nor did she really want Tory to talk with her, but it was just all the more reason why Molly didn't mind the lack of really any interaction.
Tory didn't really talk to anyone for that matter, just Robby and Devon. When she wasn't talking to them, Tory secluded herself to a corner and worked alone.
Molly watched the blonde train alone with a clenched jaw and her arms crossed tightly over her chest. It was a pose she always seemed to be doing whenever Tory around–which was every day at Miyagi-Do.
She felt a pit in her stomach twist as she watched Tory punch the air in front of her over and over again and despite being a good twenty feet away from her, Molly visibly flinched when Tory raised her leg and started to work on her kicks.
Watching Tory every day more and more made that pit in Molly's stomach start to burn–boil with every punch the girl threw and every kick she worked on.
The anger and resent that bubbled inside of her wasn't good, Molly knew that, but what was she supposed to do? Be the bigger man? Forgive and forget?
Hell no!
Luckily, Molly didn't have to focus on her anger much longer because she felt arms snake around her waist and a head dip into the crook into her neck.
"Hey, baby." Eli murmured into Molly's neck. He pressed a small kiss to the soft spot on her neck as his hands loosened around Molly's waist, letting her turn around to face him.
Molly smiled up at Eli, her hands wrapping themselves around his shoulders. "Hey, you ready to show the senseis our new dojo logo?" Molly asked, her fingers fidgeting with the collar of his hoodie.
"About that..." Eli subtly winced, his face twisting as his gaze moved away from Molly.
Molly's eyebrows furrowed, watching the way Eli hesitated saying whatever was on the tip of his tongue.
It looked like he was literally fighting himself to stop himself from speaking. His eyes shut before he finally sighed.
"We actually changed the design after you left." Eli said so fast, it all practically came out as one word. He looked down, not meeting Molly's eyes as they widened and her jaw dropped.
She moved her head so Eli could look at her. Her eyes flickered around the backyard to find Demetri anywhere, but she didn't see him.
Molly turned back to Eli as her eyebrows started to screw together. "What? Why?" She asked and Eli sighed.
He turned back to Molly nervously and shrugged. "We thought we came up with something that won't just please the senseis, but the rest of the kids too." Eli explained before his body perked up and he gave Molly a reassuring smile.
One of his hands found her waist without even trying, like it's been there a hundred times before.
"Trust me, you'll love it." He reassured with a small smile, leaning while pulling Molly toward him until their lips met.
When they pulled away, Molly was smiling. She wasn't actually too upset with the boys changing the logo they worked on.
In all honesty, Molly didn't really work on the logo with Demetri and Eli. She just watched the two boys work and in the end, Molly picked out the colors. That was it.
The sound of loud clatter from the side of the home made Molly and Eli turn away from each other to see how as making a ruckus.
The sight of Demetri struggling to carry up an easel with their new dojo logo covered by a tarp made Mollys eyes widen. She wanted to laugh—she would've, but the sight of Demetri stumbling with such a heavy and fragile object made her more nervous than anything.
Eli on the other hand, sighed watching Demetri struggle. He turned back to face and nodded his head in the direction of Demetri.
"I'm gonna go help him out."Eli said, his hands hesitant to leave Molly's waist, especially when she turned to look back up at him.
Molly muttered back a small "okay" before Eli ran over to help Demetri just as the easel slipped out of his hands and went falling to the floor. She watched as the two boys nervously try and pick the easel back up without revealing their logo design until she saw someone walking toward her out of the corner of her eyes.
She turned and her eyebrows raised as Mitch walked toward her like a guilty child in trouble. Molly's arms crossed over her chest as she playfully made a "tsk" noise with her tongue.
"Ah... welcome back." She hummed.
Mitch started to relax noticing Molly didn't seem mad at him for betraying Miyagi-Fang. While Molly was upstairs working on uploading the video exposing Silver, Mitch had revealed that he was a mole for Cobra Kai. She wasn't filled in until later.
Mitch smiled at Molly, looking around the dojo. "Glad to be back." He muttered before he turned back to Molly and started to take off his backpack. "I actually have something for you." Mitch blurted, raising a hand to stop Molly from walking away.
Molly's lips parted and her face softened at that. The corners of her lips twitched into a growing smile as Mitch started to unzip his backpack. "For me?" She asked, her hand coming up to her chest.
Mitch looked to Molly and smiled, shrugging his shoulders sheepishly. "Well, for everyone but– what's your shirt size?" He asked, squinting a little from the sun beaming down on them.
Even though Molly was a little confused by the question, she didn't hesitate to answer and after searching through his bag for a couple more seconds, Mitch finally pulled out a t-shirt and handed it to Molly with a big smile.
Molly unfolded the clothing and chuckled at the two logos, Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, cut in half and merged together to create a brand new logo. It looked pretty cool. It wasn't something Demetri and Eli thought of when they were brainstorming ideas for a logo, but Molly thought this would be a good candidate.
She looked back up to Mitch and smiled, throwing on the shirt since she was only wearing a tank top beforehand.
"Sweet. Thanks, Mitch."
"No problem." Mitch said. He was about to walk away—he even turned about 90 degrees before he froze and turned back to Molly.
"And uh..." Mitch started, making Molly stop, raising her eyebrows as she waited for him to continue.
Mitch sighed, his shoulders slumping in relaxation and his head tilting just a little. "Thanks for always being cool with me and calling me by my actual name. You were one of the main reasons it was so hard to turn on Miyagi-Fang." Mitch admitted.
Molly fought back a smile. She didn't really know what to say because it was just common courtesy. The bare minimum. Mitch didn't like that everyone called him "Assface" and then "Penis breath" so Molly called him what he wanted.
Since she didn't know what to say, Molly just muttered a small "of course" and pulled the boy into a quick hug.
"I'm glad you made you found your way back here." Molly said as she pulled away from the hug. Mitch nodded in agreement, glad that he wasn't going to get any silent treatment for being tricked by Cobra Kai again. "Me too."
"Can everyone gather around?" Demetri yelled.
Molly turned her head away from Mitch and to the direction she heard Demetri. She found him on the sparring deck with Eli and the easel holding up the dojos new logo.
She and Mitch started to walk toward the sparring deck, the rest of the team crowding around as well. Molly ended up in the front row squished in between Sam and Devon as they waited for Eli and Demetri to start.
"It's been a long road, but we're finally all on the same side. And as a reward? The toughest test any of us ever had to face." Eli started.
"The Sekai Takai is the most prestigious karate tournament in modern martial arts history. For over a century, fighters from across the globe have gathered every two years to compete for the title of the World's Best." Demetri explained, making sure to look every person in the eyes.
When his eyes met Molly's in the front row, she threw up two thumbs up and a small smile. It seemed like the action gave Demetri a boost of confidence because his back straightened and the expression on his face eased into a smile as he looked away from her.
"If the All Valley is March Madness, this is the Olympics, plus the gladiator games and the kumite from Bloodsport all rolled into one." Eli explained, and Molly heard a faint "hell yeah" from Johnny behind her.
"If we win—" Demetri was cut off by Eli and Molly loudly clearing their throats.
Demetri opened and closed his mouth, looking back and forth between Eli and Molly before scoffing. "Sorry, mom and dad." He grumbled sarcastically, rolling his eyes before he turned back to the rest of his team.
"When we win, the spoils will be life-changing." Demetri corrected himself, earning a nod from Eli, silently telling him he could continue. "But it's going to take all of our focus and all the wisdom our sensei's have to offer."
"Yes, which is why we decided to take at least one thing off your plates. Coming up with our new dojo name." Demetri announced to the three senseis with a smile.
"Yes! After some spirited brainstorming and ad hoc focus-grouping and also a dojo-wide vote, we have a winner." Eli said and as soon as the two of them grabbed the tarp to reveal their new dojo and design, Molly's eyes widened at their new logo.
"We give you Miyagi-Fang Karate!"
Molly gawked at a cartoon image of Mr. Miyagi with fangs and when all of the students around her cheered, Mollyquickly tried to hide her shock and start clapping along with everyone else.
As Molly applauded, she turned around to see how her senseis (specially Daniel) felt about the logo. She winced as the three men walked into the home behind them, Daniel practically stomping.
Demetri and Eli didn't notice them go and instead looked down at Molly in the front with. Demetri's eyebrows raised and he held his hand out to show off as Eli smiled, watching Molly with an excited look in his eyes.
"So? Did you like it?"
...
Molly ended up driving Miguel and Eli back to her apartment complex. Johnny, who was Miguel's ride to karate, had plans afterward and Eli was supposed to be having dinner with Molly and her moms tonight.
As they all got out of the car Eli, who was a pretty fast walker, headed toward the stairs to the second floor faster than Molly could or want to walk.
Just as she was about to turn into the stairwell to follow Eli, Miguel, who was froze in front of his door, called out to her.
"Hey, wait."
Molly stopped just before her hand could grab the stairway door handle. She turned around to face Miguel and started to walk toward him.
"What's up?" Molly asked, and Miguel almost looked as if he didn't want to ask whatever was about to come out of his mouth. It looked as if the words were leaving a bad taste in his mouth, but he still pushed through, nervously shoving his hands into his front pockets.
"I know you and Eli are having dinner with your moms, but what are you guys doing after?" He asked and Molly grilled her lips and looked away as she thought about it. As far as she could remember, Eli and her talked about the possibility of watching the X-Men prequels after dinner, but that was still up in the air.
Molly turned back to Miguel and shook her head. "Nothing set in stone. Why?"
Still, Miguel looked like he was seriously contemplating if he should continue talking. He bit his lip for a second before he titled his head and one of his hands left his pockets to rub the back of his neck nervously.
"I was thinking a group trip to Golf 'n' Stuf?"
Molly let out a small laugh, making Miguel's face drop. "Like a double date?" She asked as she raised her eyebrows, not seeing why Miguel was so nervous to ask Molly about a double date. The four of them have gone on tons double dates, so why was he so nervous right now?
Miguel sucked on a breath of air, looking down to the ground as he squinted. "Um... triple actually."
Molly's eyes could've popped out of her head and the amused grin on her face doubled in size. "Oh my God! Demetri and Yasmine finally agreed to do a double date?" Molly asked like an excited little kid.
All four of them have tried for months to get Demetri and Yasmine to come along on their double dates, turning them into triple dates. Miguel and Eli insisted it wasn't the same without Demetri there and Sam and Molly would love to have Yasmine around, but Yasmine has always declined for the two of them, claiming double and especially triple dates were too corny for her.
Miguel cursed to himself, still refusing to look Molly in the eyes. His hand that was rubbing the back of his neck moved to rub his eyes and he let out one final groan.
"No... no, not Demetri and Yasmine." He muttered. Molly's eyebrows screwed together. There wasn't anyone else in their friend group in relationships that could tag along that Molly could think of.
A confused laugh passed through her lips as she shook her head. "Then who..." Molly's words died out as Miguel finally raised his head and looked up at her.
It was like she could read his mind or he was sending her telepathic thoughts because the second their eyes locked, Mollys heart sank, finally realizing what Miguel was insinuating.
Miguel opened his mouth to try and explain himself, but his words were cut off by Molly scoffing.
"Hell no." She tiredly spat, turning around and walking back toward the stairs.
"Moll—" Miguel was cut off by Molly turning back around to face him, her eyebrows raised almost comically high. "You want me to go on a triple date with you and Sam, who I adore, and then my ex and his girlfriend?" Molly asked and Miguel's eyebrows furrowed.
"I thought you and Robby were cool now?" He defended and Molly just looked at him as if he had three heads.
"We are, but that doesn't mean I want to go on double dates with him and Tory–who by the way, still hasn't even spoken to me at all since joining Miyagi-Do." Molly said before she squinted at Miguel, shaking her head as her arms crossed over her chest. "Does Sam even know that you two are going on a date with Tory and Robby?"
Miguel's mouth instantly clamped shut and he looked back down to the floor. Molly let out a dry laugh, shaking her head. "Yeah, we're not going. Have fun, though." She said, truthfully hoping it goes well for everyone's sake.
She turned and opened the door to the stairwell and this time, Miguel didn't stop her. Molly walked up the stairs and just as she was about to open the door tot the second story level, Eli on the other side of the door opened it.
He jumped for a second at Molly being right there, but he quickly regained himself and opened the door wider for her to walk out of the stairwell. "Everything okay? I was gonna head back down and check on you guys."
Molly sighed, spinning her keys on her fingers as she walked toward her door. She turned around to face Eli, walking backward. "Yeah, I just saved us from an evening of torture." Molly hummed just as they reached her front door.
Before she unlocked the door, Molly leaned against the doorframe and giggled. "Picture it: you, me, Miguel, Sam, Robby, and Tory on a triple date." She said through her laughter, using her hands to enthusiastically set the scene for Eli.
Eli breathed out a chuckle at that. He sighed, taking a step toward Molly as his hands found Molly's waist again. "Oh... my hero." He breathed out, leaning close to Molly as she turned around to start to unlock her front door.
"How could I ever repay you?" Eli murmured into the girls hair, his face trailing down until it found her neck. He placed a soft trail kisses down her neck, making Molly him as she finally unlocked the door.
She looked back at Eli before she opened the door, nervous her moms were on the other side of it and would see Eli kissing her. Eli raised his head so he was face to face with Molly, their lips close to brushing at their close proximity.
Her eyebrows raised seductively and her lips pulled into a small smile as she looked up at Eli through her eyelashes. "I could think of a way..." Molly teased as she stared down Eli's lips.
Molly felt Eli's breath hitch and her eyes flickered back up to the boys eyes. Her smile turned into a smirk when his eyebrows raised as he looked down at her. "Really?" He asked as Molly placed her hand back on the doorknob from behind her back.
"Mhm." Molly hummed, leaning closer to Eli until their lips finally grazed each others.
Just as they were about to kiss, Molly paused and looked up at Eli. "You can agree to watch the X-Men movies." Molly said, not a hint of flirtation in her voice anymore.
Eli groaned when Molly pulled away and started to open the door. His head dipped to hide how red it got and his hand reached out to grab Mollys free one as she started to drag him into her home. "Fine!"
