xlv. egging this on

If Mollys group-chat with Sam, Moon, and Yasmine started planning a trip to the water park a week ago, Molly probably would've agreed to go, but she would've passed on driving with the three of them, worried that only Moon and Sam would actually want her in the car with them.

But after her date with Eli and her phone call with Yasmine just before it, Molly actually started to let her mind believe that Yasmine wanted to be her friend.

So Molly said yes to Moon driving her, the other girls, and Anthony to the water park.

Moon said it was an open invitation so Sam excitedly suggested to Molly that they invite everyone from karate. Demetri ended up working, but Eli texted Molly saying he would be there around an hour after her.

Now, the four girls laid back on beach chairs to sunbathe. Molly didn't want to sunbathe. She came to the water park to swim, go on water slides, do the normal water park activities. She paid for a ticket to go here, if she wanted to sunbathe, they could've done that for free in Sam's backyard.

Molly had her eyes closed as music blasted in her ears as the sun heated up her bikini covered body, the suit showcasing both of her tattoos. She had been doing that for the past twenty minutes before she heard Sam gag.

Molly opened her eyes and took out one of her headphones. She turned to face Sam on her right and saw the girl glaring at Anthony standing in front of the girl.

"Anthony, can you not stare at my friends?" Sam cringed.

In seconds, Anthony's face turned red Molly, Moon, and Yasmine all started to look at him. He let out a nervous laugh, shaking his head frantically. "No, no, no, I wasn't, um, uh, staring. I was uh... wondering if any of you wanted to go down the tornado water slide with me?" Anthony struggled to get the words out, but they made Molly practically jump out of her chair.

"Oh my God, yes please! I've been waiting for one of them to want to go on any slides." Molly said, tossing her phone onto the towel she was lying back on.

As she started to walk toward Anthony, his shoulders relaxing at the fact that not only his lie was believable, but now he had a buddy to do the ride he had been terrified to do.

Moon giggled at Molly's persistence. "We just went to the spa, Molls. We can't mess up our hair." Moon hummed, playfully flipping her newly blown out hair.

Molly turned around to look at Moon, walking the rest of the way to Anthony backwards. "And even though your hair looks gorgeous, it defeats the purpose of going to a waterpark." Molly pointed out just as she reached Anthony.

"Now, if you'll excuse us..." She wrapped a lazy arm around the boys shoulders and Anthony quickly tried to act cool at the action, putting his hand on his hip and "casually" flipping his hair. "Anthony and I will be going on waterslides."

"Yeah!" Anthony added, earning a smack on the arm from Molly. "Shut up." She whispered and instantly, Anthony's mouth clamped shut.

Molly pulled the boy toward the slide he wanted to go. It was one of Molly's favorites and the summer before, her and Aisha dragged Demetri to the ride a handful of times in one day which earned them silent treatment for the next three days.

As she walked toward the ride, she noticed Anthony stopped walking next to her. Molly turned around and watched as Anthony froze in fear, looking at something in front of the two of them.

Feeling eyes on him, Anthony turned to Molly. His mouth opened and closed anxiously, trying to come up with the right words. "Maybe— uh... maybe we could go a different way?" Anthony asked, his eyes darting back and forth between Molly and whoever was standing behind her.

Molly turned around and her jaw clenched when she saw Cobra Kai right in the walkway to the slide. None of them had noticed her or Anthony yet.

She turned back to the boy, her eyebrows furrowed as she stepped closer to Anthony. "Has Cobra Kai been messing with you?"

Anthony shook his head, letting out a small laugh. "What? Pfft! No! I just thought we should go another way because..." Anthony's words died out as he looked at Molly, the older girl raising her eyebrows, not believing him.

Anthony sighed, his head dropping as he realized he wasn't good at lying as he thought he was. "Please don't tell Sam." He asked. His voice was quieter now, barely lighting his head to look at Molly through his eyelashes.

"I won't." Molly said and she could see the boy visibly calm down knowing she wouldn't say anything.

Molly gave the boy a lopsided smile. "Let's just come back to the ride later, okay?" She asked and Anthony took a deep breath, trying his hardest to ignore the fact that his bullies were right in front of him.

He nodded his head, giving Molly a weak, but real smile. "Okay."

Molly smiled and tapped Anthony's shoulder, silently telling him to turn around so they could walk back to the group. When Anthony turned around, Molly moved to sling her arm around his shoulders.

As they reached their group again, all three girls noticed it hadn't been long enough for Molly and Anthony to ride the waterslide. Sam's eyebrows furrowed, dropping the book she was reading against her legs as she watched Molly take her place back in her chair while Anthony moved to sit at Sam's feet.

Sam opened her mouth to question the two, but a voice walking towards the five cut her off.

"Hey, Molls!"

Molly turned her head at the sound of her name and immediately smiled when she saw Eli and Miguel coming toward the group. Molly immediately smiled and threw her head back in happiness. "Finally!" She groaned once the boys reached her.

Eli walked toward Molly's beach chair, resting his hand on the back of Molly's chair right beside her head. He leaned down and kissed her. Molly smiled into the kiss and when Eli pulled away, he grabbed Mollys ankles and lifted them.

"Move." He muttered, sitting where Mollys legs once were and then putting her legs back down, now resting across his legs.

Molly looked up at Miguel, who was staring at Sam nervously while standing in front of the empty beach chair in between her and Molly. "Uh, hey, how you doing, Sam?" Miguel stuttered out.

"Hey. I'm, uh, yeah. I mean, I'm... I'm good. Good. And how about you?" Sam stumbled over her words, somehow even worse than Miguel.

Molly licked her lips and turned away from Sam and Miguel to stop herself from letting out any uncomfortable laugh. Her eyes locked with Eli in front of her and he could immediately read her expression and gently squeezed her ankle, silently telling her not to laugh.

"I'm cool. I'm good." Miguel said, eagerly nodding his head. In seconds, an uncomfortable silence grew over the entire group. Molly looked back and forth between Sam and Miguel as she slowly sat up, crossing her legs so she was closer to Eli.

"I might need to leave before I die of embarrassment." Molly whispered into Eli's ear. The boy turned to look at Sam and Miguel before he turned back to Molly, his eyebrows raised.

"Wanna go to one of the slides?" He asked and Molly immediately perked up, grabbing Eli's hands and dragging him out of the chair. "Oh God, yes!"

...

When Molly and Eli got off of the water slide, Molly was practically bouncing to go onto another one. It was the whole point of going to a waterpark after all. She wanted to go on the slides, not spend her day sunbathing.

"Come on, guys! Let me go!"

Molly's excitement simmered out at the sound of Anthony's voice. She turned her head and watched Cobra Kai circle who she believed was Anthony, but she couldn't tell since he was lodged in the center of five pool floaties stacked on top of each other.

"Are you kidding me?" Molly breathed out, running toward the Cobra Kai's and leaving Eli completely alone.

Eli's eyes followed Molly with his eyebrows screwed together. When his eyes saw where Molly was heading, he immediately ran after her. "Shit!"

Molly reached the Cobra Kai's just as they kicked Anthony into the lazy river. Without thinking, Molly pressed both her hands against Kyler's shoulders and shoved him back. "What the hell was that?" Molly spat.

Kyler chuckled as the rest of the Cobra Kai's started to circle around the two of them. "None of your business." Kyler said, reaching his hand out to shove Molly back, but Eli stepped in, smacking Kyler's hand away from the girl.

"Yeah, well, we're making it our business."

Kenny smirked, tapping Kyler's chest as he stared at Eli. "Hey, Kyler. Maybe he needs another haircut to remember who he's talking to." Kenny said and all of the Cobras started to laugh with Kenny.

Eli's eyebrows raised and he took a small step forward. Without any of the Cobra Kai's noticing, Eli's hand gently reached back and he pushed Molly behind him. "You wanna take on the champ?"

Kenny rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Dude, you're only the champ because Diaz got hurt. Robby's won as many fights as you." He spat and Eli chuckled, looking Kenny up and down before he took another step forward.

"But one of them was against you. That wasn't much of a fight, was it?" He snickered out.

Kenny's jaw clenched and his lips curled in anger. Kyler laughed from beside the younger boy, slapping his back. "Aw, come on now. You really gonna take that from him? From Lip?" Kyler laughed out.

Suddenly, Molly was back in sophomore year, watching Kyler make fun of her quiet, sweet boyfriend. Her mind flashed to the day in the library when Kyler grabbed Eli's face and made fun of his lip.

Molly moved to stand next to Eli instead of beside him. Her arms crossed over her chest as she scoffed. "God, do you ever shut up?" Molly complained.

Kyler's eyes turned to Molly. He looked the girl up and down before a chuckle left his lips. Kyler took a small step toward Molly as he licked his lips. "I can think of one way I can shut up."

Molly felt a surge of anger course through her veins and before Eli, who became just as mad as her, could do anything, Mollys fist swung toward Kyler's face.

"You fucking pig!"

Kyler leaned back seconds before Molly's fist connected to his face. Molly making the first move suddenly set all of the Cobra Kai's into fight mode and they ran toward Molly and Eli.

"Hey, hey, hey!" A voice yelled before someone pushed between the two dojos, shoving them back.

All of the anger that was suddenly pumping through Molly's blood stop and she completely froze at the sight of Tory. Even though she fought Tory again at the All Valley, losing only brought back all of her fear and anxieties. Molly's ribs suddenly started to ache and her hand shook as it instinctively moved to cover them from the blonde.

When Tory finally looked to Molly and Eli, her glare faltered when she saw the look on Molly's face. Torys back straightened and her eyes softened as she could almost watch the night Tory broke Molly's ribs replay in Molly's mind.

A taunting chuckle from Kenny behind her pulled Tory out of her thoughts. Kenny stepped forward to stand side by side with Tory, his eyes in Molly as his eyebrows raised. "What's the matter, Preston? Don't like the fight? You gonna cry again?" Kenny teased. The boy brought his hand to his heart and mimicked Mollys panic attack she had at the All Valley.

As the Cobra Kai's started to chuckle from around Kenny, Mollys chest tightened. She wanted to say something. It was eating her alive not too, but it was as if she was glued in her position, she could hardly blink.

Tory was quick turn face Kenny. She placed both hands on his shoulders and shoved him back. "Hey, enough." She spat as a warning, catching both teams off guard.

Molly finally had the strength to move and the first thing she could think to do was reach out for Eli's hand beside her.

Keeping his eyes on the Cobra Kai's, Eli reassuringly squeezed Molly's hand while his jaw tightened at Kenny's mimicry. "How about you assholes just stay on your side of the park. Away from us." Hawk spoke, making Tory turn back to him and Molly.

Tory watched at Hawk with a glare-like squint. A laugh started to build up in her throat at the idea, but her eyes made the grave mistake of turning to Molly at the last second. The laughter suddenly caught in her throat and turned into a guilty burn. She quickly gulped and turned back to the boy.

"All right. You guys stay on your side, we don't have a problem. Better rides on our side anyway." Tory shrugged, trying to mask the weird feeling of Molly's frozen eyes on her. She didn't want to look—she didn't want to get eaten alive by some unresolved guilt, but her eyes kept finding Molly's wide ones.

Tory looked away, turning back to her team. She muttered a quiet, "let's go" to them and hesitantly, the team slowly started to walk away from Molly and Eli.

Molly watched the back of Tory's head as she got smaller and smaller. Slowly, the further Tory got from Molly, the pain in her ribs started to subside and she no longer struggled breathing.

She let out a deep exhale Molly didn't even know she was holding in and when she turned to face Eli, her eyes moved behind him to Anthony struggling to pull himself out of the lazy river.

Molly made a beeline toward the boy and when Anthony saw her coming with an outstretched hand, he immediately grabbed it and let Molly help pull him up. "Are you alright?" Molly asked once Anthony was standing in front of her and Eli.

The younger boy tried to cough whatever water ended up in his lungs and nodded his head frantically. "Fine. Humiliated, but... fine." He groaned out, wanting the attention off of him as soon as possible.

Molly frowned. She didn't want Anthony to end up hating this day. It was supposed to be a good day for everyone. She looked around the park and slowly, a smile grew on her face when she saw the tornado slide right behind Anthony.

She turned back to Anthony, her smile only getting wider. "Wanna go on that tornado slide now? It's on our side of the park." Molly hummed.

Immediately, Anthony's mood perked up. He spun around to face the direction of the slide and immediately turned back to Molly. "Yes, please."

Molly smiled triumphantly. She looked to Eli next to her and raised her eyebrows, her smile turning into a playful smirk.

"You coming?" Molly asked and Eli, who had been staring at the tornado slide like a little kid who had just seen a ghost, snapped his head back to Molly. He opened and closed his mouth to come up with some excuse as to why he wouldn't want to go and decided on just shaking his head,

"No..." He cleared his voice when his voice wavered and sent Molly a small smile. "No, I'll pass."

Molly held back laugh and nodded her head. "Okay, you'll let everyone know about our side of the park, right?" She asked and Eli nodded his head. "Yeah, I've got it."

"Alright. We'll be on the side then, Scaredy cat." Molly teased, stepping forward and quickly kissing him before Anthony could start fake gagging—something he's been doing to all the couples in Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang for the past couple weeks.

When Molly started to pull away, Eli's lips followed her for a few seconds until their eyes met. "I'll be right back." Molly whispered to him before stepping back and turning to Anthony. "You ready to go?"

Anthony was like a kid on a sugar high. He grabbed Molly's wrist and ran as fast as he could to the tornado slide. Molly almost fell face first, not expecting the boy to run, but she quickly caught her footing and ran with him.

The line was almost a 30 minute wait and it was stuck in that line that Molly realized how big of a nerd Anthony LaRusso really was. She was trying to be nice and ask him how his summer has been going, expecting the boy to just say "good" and that'd be it.

But Anthony spent almost the entire wait in line telling Molly about the levels he'd beaten in Dungeon Lords.

When it was finally Anthony and Mollys turn, they didn't have to get paired with another group, which both of them were grateful for.

If Molly was asked what her favorite part of the ride was, you may expect her to say the adrenaline she felt everytime they got near the edge or every time their tube went up the wall and Mollys was facing the ground. But in reality, it was sitting right across from Anthony and listening to his high pitched screaming every time they went up high. Molly was laughing so hard, she almost let go of the tube at least three times.

When they got off the ride, Molly was still laughing, her hands clutching her stomach in pain while Anthony walked beside her, pale faced with a big frown.

"Stop it! All of you! Or you're all getting kicked out!" A voice yelled from a nearby slide, making Molly's laughter die out.

Her and Anthony turned their heads and immediately, Molly ran toward the crowd of Miyagi-Dos, Cobra Kai's, and Eagle Fangs while Anthony ran the opposite direction; toward Sam.

"What the hell happened?" Molly yelled once she reached the group. She skidded to a stop once she reached Miguel and Eli, who looked at her tiredly.

"Devon and Bert went to rides on Cobra Kai's side of the park. Got in a fight." Miguel breathed out and slowly, Molly turned to face the two. Both Devon and Bert stepped away from Molly when her glare landed on them, not wanting her to be mad at them.

"Clearly, we can't coexist in peace, so let's find a solution." Miguel said and Mitch scoffed from the other side of him. "We can't fight. What are we supposed to do?"

"We need to go." Robby whispered to Tory, grabbing her hand and starting to tug her toward the exit before a voice stopped him.

"How about a race?" Bert blurted.

Everyone looked up to the slides they were standing in front of. It was two identical slides that side by side with each other. Molly squinted at the sun in her eyes and frowned. She didn't want to keep this fight going longer than it needed to. They could all just walk away and stop bugging each other.

But across from her, Tory's eyes sparkled at the idea. She turned to look at the Miyagi-Dos and Eagle Fangs. "Yeah, I'll go." She said, making all her rivals stare at her while the Cobra Kai's looked at the two teams standing in front of them, waiting for someone to make a move and volunteer.

Molly suddenly felt a hand in her back before she was pushed forward. "Molly, you go." Bert said.

"What? No, I'm not egging this on." Molly whisper yelled, but Eli, Miguel, Robby, and Tory all watched the way Mollys arm curled around her ribs again.

Robby's eyes moved to Tory while the blonde looked down at the ground guiltily. Miguel and Eli locked eyes for a few seconds before Eli's hand replaced Bert's hand on Molly's back and he stepped forward.

"I'll go." Eli said, making Molly turn to look up at him, shaking her head. "You shouldn't egg this on either." Molly whispered to Eli, but he ignored her. Eli could see that Molly still couldn't be around Tory, and he wanted this feud to be over. Being the one to do the race killed two birds with one stone.

Kyler laughed, nodding his head at Eli stepping up. "All right, champ versus champ." He howled out.

Tory kept her eyes on Eli, it was almost as if she suddenly couldn't look at Molly anymore. Tory raised her head higher and smirked at Eli. "Whoever wins gets the park."

Eli looked around his team, silently asking if that was good with everyone else. When he only got nods back, Elk turned back to Tory and nodded. "Deal. But you won't win."

The Cobra Kai's slowly started to walk away, Tory heading to the slide when Molly turned to Eli. Feeling eyes on him, Eli turned his head and was met with Molly's face inches away from him.

She smiled, her hands cupping either side of his face as she leaned in to kiss him. When she pulled away, Molly still had a smile on her face. "Good luck." She whispered.

Eli felt his stomach tug at the girl in front of him. His hands found her waist and he gently rubbed his thumb up and down her hip. "One more kiss for good luck?"

Molly rolled her eyes, but was unable to hide the smile on her face. Before she could lean in, Eli's hands on her waist pulled her into him, Her chest crashed into his and his head dipped to kiss her.

"Alright, alright. Let's get this race over with, yeah?" Miguel laughed out, grabbing Eli and Mollys shoulder, pulling them apart.

Eli chuckled, walking to the slide to start the race. Molly watched as Kenny handed him a floatie before Eli and Bert started to walk up the stairs to the start of the slide.

"This is incredibly stupid, right?" Molly asked, leaning toward Miguel. He snickered from next to Molly, his eyes on Tory and Eli at the top of the slide. "Oh, so stupid." He whispered just as Bert called for the race to begin.

Molly and Miguel waited to see who would pop out of their slide first. Cheers and screams from the three dojos echoed around them until Tory appeared out of her slide first.

The Cobra Kai's cheered and Molly groaned. Seconds later, Eli came out of his slide, his pool floatie deflated.

As the girl cheered over her victory. Hawk raised his inflatable pool tube that was deflated. "What the hell? You guys cheated. There was a hole in my tube!" He screamed, stopping Tory and Cobra Kai's cheers.

Immediately, Miyagi-Fang started to yell at Cobra Kai.

"Losers!"

"Cheaters!"

Eli swam toward the edge of the pool and Molly stuck her hand out to help him up. Eli looked up at Molly's outstretched hand and took it. "Thanks, baby." He muttered as Molly helped him up.

He didn't stay near Molly for long because his eyes fell just past her and to Kenny laughing with the other Cobra Kai's. His jaw clenched and he made a beeline toward the boy.

"Dipshit. I know this was you."

Kenny smirked up at Eli, raising his eyebrows tauntingly. "What are you gonna do?" He asked and Eli rolled his eyes. "Not strike first if that's what you think. You don't have the balls to anyway."

Kenny's smirk was wiped clean from his face and he immediately threw a punch towards Eli.

"Shit!" Molly cursed as Eli dodged the punch, chuckling at Kenny. "Is that all you got?" He asked condescendingly.

Kenny immediately started to throw punch after punch towards Hawk and he blocked almost every single one of them until Kenny landed a punch across his face.

Eli grabbed Kenny's wrist, blocking the boy from punching him. When Kenny raised his leg to kick him, Eli grabbed Kenny's leg and slammed his elbow into the back of his knee.

Robby ran at Eli, pushing him into the pool next to him. Immediately, Miguel and Molly immediately ran at Robby.

"Hey!" Miguel yelled, pushing Robby back by his shoulders as Molly helped Hawk out of the pool. He was groaning and holding the side of his head from how he fell in.

"Watch yourself." Miguel warned Robby as Molly pulled Hawk up. "You wanna go?" Robby yelled back at Miguel. The two boys were practically chest to chest with each other.

A loud whistle made all the teens jump and separate from each other. Molly gasped, jumping back into Eli's chest as she looked up at the angry lifeguard in front of them.

"Everybody get out and leave the park immediately!"

...

After grabbing all of their things as well as Yasmine and Moon, everyone started to head out of the waterpark. Miguel looked around at the small group he was walking out of the park with and his eyebrows furrowed when he didn't see Sam with them.

"Hey. Do you guys know where Sam went?" Miguel asked, making Molly, Eli, Yasmine, and Moon stop walking. Moon and Yasmine turned to each other before looking back to Miguel with frowns.

"Oh, she split on her own. She didn't want anything to do with this drama." Moon explained and Miguel sighed. His head dropped and he tiredly rubbed his eyes. "Yeah, neither did I." He muttered in disappointment.

Molly frowned. She took a small step toward Miguel and rubbed his shoulder. "Don't worry. Im sure she's not upset with you or anything." Molly muttered and Miguel nodded in agreement. He lifted his head to respond to Molly, but his gaze found Robby walking around the other end of the parking lot alone.

His eyebrows furrowed as his eyes stayed glued on the boy. "Uh, go ahead. I'll catch up." Miguel muttered, hardly paying attention to the four in front of him before he made way to Robby.

As Miguel walked away, Moon turned to Molly with a small smile. "You coming with us, Molls?" She asked.

Molly, who had Elis arm wrapped around her shoulder, turned around to face Moon and Yasmine. Her hand reached up to hold Elis that was around her and she tilted her head at her two friends. "Actually, I think I'll go home with Eli. Sorry."

Yasmine immediately shook her head, dismissing Mollys apology with a smile. "Don't be sorry. If Demetri wasn't working, I would've gone home with him a long time ago." She hummed, smirking and elbowing Moons ribs playfully.

When Yasmine wiggled her eyebrows teasingly, Molly and Eli frowned. They didn't want to hear about Yasmine and Demetri's sex life.

"Gross..." Molly whispered before Moon and Yasmine said bye to her and walked toward their car.

When it was just Eli and Molly, Eli turned to face Molly. He pulled her hand that he was still holding so she would look to him as he took a small step toward her. "You okay?" He asked, his free hand moving to cup her cheek.

Molly leaned into Eli's touch and when his thumb traced small circles along her cheekbone, she smiled. "Yeah. Maybe we could head back to your place? Or mine. We could watch a movie?"

Eli smiled, pulling Molly's face towards his to kiss her again. When they pulled away, Eli continued to hold Molly's face close to his and he smiled. "Anything you want."

As they started to walk toward Eli's car, Molly reached up and grabbed the sunglasses Eli was wearing, putting them on her own face.
