One morning, Carmen had an early shift at the hospital and Yaya had a book club meeting. Not wanting Miguel to eat alone, Carmen asked Molly's moms if Miguel could come over for breakfast, not wanting him to eat alone.
Miguel would've protested; telling his mom that he didn't need to eat a meal with people and he'd be okay making food for himself, but Miguel loved Molly and he loved her moms so he didn't complain.
The four sat at the dining table, having just played their food and sat down when Mollys mom, Keira, smiled at Miguel And Molly across the table from her and her wife.
"So has Johnny and Mr. LaRusso been preparing you guys for the All Valley?" She asked and Miguel nodded as Molly took a big bite of her scrambled eggs.
"Yeah, it was a little rocky at first, but I think they reached some sort of common ground." Miguel said before he turned to Molly next to him, who was still chewing her food, and raised his eyebrows. "What do you think, Molls?"
Molly covered her mouth and quickly swallowed her food. Once she was ready to speak, she nodded her head. "I think it's going pretty well. It's definitely interesting watching the two of them bicker of their fighting styles."
Miguel chuckled at the thought, the two of them always holding back laughter watching Daniel's reactions to Johnnys teaching or Johnny rolling his eyes at Daniel's Miyagi-Do.
"I bet it's nice being in the same dojo as Demetri again." Mollys other mom, Janice added and Keira laughed beside her. "It was all he talked about the day the boys surprised you with Aisha for your birthday." The woman giggled out, pointing to Miguel with her fork when saying "the boys."
Miguel had a proud smile on his face, still thinking that was the best idea they could've done for the girls birthday when Keiras laughs stopped and her eyebrows. "And you're on the same team as Eli again! Or does he still go by Hawk?"
Miguel took a big bite of food so Molly would be the one to answer the question. She smiled at her mom and nodded her head. "It's still Hawk. Or at least for everyone but Demetri." She chuckled out, moving her food around her plate with her fork.
"You could always ask..." Miguel muttered in a sing songy voice, loud enough for only Molly to hear him. Molly turned to face Miguel, staring at the playful smirk on her face with an unamused glare.
Mollys moms didn't notice the interaction and Keira sighed, turning to her wife and tilting her head. "I've missed having him around the home. Such a sweet kid." She muttered, shaking her head as she remembered the boy. Janice nodded in agreement as Miguel and Molly both held back their snickers.
"You guys are all going to the drive in tonight, right?" Janice asked, looking to Miguel and Molly. At the same time, the two teens wiped their smiles off of their faces and turned to the woman.
Molly nodded, stabbing her fork in on a piece of her food. "Yeah, I'm picking everyone up and then we're heading over." She explained and the mothers nodded before Keira squinted. "What movie is it again?"
"Bloodsport." Miguel answered and immediately, Janice rolled her eyes, holding back a scoff as she turned to face her wife. "Oh, God. I remember when that movie came out. The line was insane."
Miguel chuckled at the woman's words, taking a bite of food. "Sensei says it's pretty great."
"Well, I hope you kids have some fun." Keira said, making both kids smile.
...
Molly sat in the drivers seat of her Jeep and because of the order Miguel suggested they pick everyone up, Hawk sat in the passenger seat with Miguel, Sam, and Demetri sprawled out in the back.
They were about halfway through the movie when Molly ate the last sour gummy worm she brought from home. Still wanting some more snacks, Molly sighed and looked at everyone else in her car.
"I'm gonna go get some more snacks. Does anyone want to come with?" Molly asked as she crumbled up the bag of candy she just finished.
At the same time, Miguel and Hawk locked eyes in the rear view mirror. Through a silent conversation with their eyes and a small smirk on Miguel's face, Hawk gained enough strength to turn to Molly and smile. "I'll go—"
"I'll go with you. I need to see what kind of drinks they have before H just tell you what I want." Demetri groaned out, cutting Hawk off and already reaching for the door handle. Demetri turned to look at his friends; Miguel, Hawk, and Sam all glaring at him that he completely ruined the plan.
Demetri just stared at his friends cluelessly, not knowing why they were glaring at him. "What?" He whispered as Molly got out of the car.
"You coming?" Molly asked from her open door. Demetri looked away from all the angry eyes on him and locked his with Molly. He nodded his head and climbed out of the car as Molly turned to everyone else. "You guys want anything?"
Hawk looked as if he was about to say something, his mouth open and his body leaning more towards Molly but after a couple seconds, he shook his head, closed his mouth, and frowned. "No, I'm good."
Molly nodded and looked to the backseat at Miguel and Sam. She raised her eyebrows, silently asking them the same question and when they both said they didn't want anything Molly smiled. "Okay! We'll be right back!" She said before closing her door and starting to walk to the snack shop with Demetri.
As soon as the door closed, Miguel and Sam leaned forward in the backseats so they were closer to Hawk. "Dude, you've gotta follow her." Miguel said and Hawk's whole face contorted. He looked at the boy with an expression filled with confusion and he shook his head, his eyes darting back and forth between Miguel and the back window where he could see Molly and Demetri get smaller and smaller the further they walked.
"What? What am I even supposed to say or do with Demetri there?" Hawk asked and Sam rolled her eyes, dropping her head against the seat in front of her in annoyance before she looked back up to Hawk.
"Just talk to her!" Sam said and Miguel nodded in agreement. Hawk looked back and forth between Sam and Miguel before a smirk-like-smile grew on his face. He felt a boost confidence surge through his body as he hopped out of the car and followed after Molly and Demetri.
The while walk to the snack shop, Demetri asked Molly question after question about the movie, not understanding any of it.
When they reached the snack shop, Demetri stepped up to order what he wanted first as Molly stood s couple steps behind him, looking over the menu.
"Oh, there's a traitor here for sure. He's gonna get what he deserves." Molly heard behind her and Demetri in the distance. She straightened up at the voice and turned around. When she saw all of Cobra Kai walk towards Hawk, Bert, and Nate, her eyes widened. "Shit!" She muttered under her breath.
Molly didn't even give an explanation to Demetri before she jogged over. Just before any of them could he too close to Hawk, Molly appeared, stepping side by side with the boy. "I don't think so." Molly said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Tory raised her eyebrows at Molly defending Hawk saw all of Cobra Kai walk towards Hawk, and licking her lips to stop herself from smirking when she heard Robby behind her. "Of course." Robby yelled as he walked up to stand with Cobra Kai, making his presence known.
Molly could hear people walk up behind her, and figuring it was just the Eagle Fangs and Miyagi Dos, Molly kept her glare-filled eyes on Robby.
It was quiet between the rivals, everyone just glaring at the dojo opposite from them until Demetri ran over, a big smile on his face. "Hey guys, can you believe that they have Mr. Pibb and Dr. Pepper?" Demetri asked, looking down at the drink in his hands he didn't even notice Cobra Kai standing there as well.
Molly licked her teeth and cleared her throat loudly, making Demetri look up. His smile fell in seconds and he groaned. "Oh shit. Not another rumble." He muttered as Molly and Hawk both reached for Demetri to pull him closer to their side.
"Careful, LaRusso. Your mommy isn't here to play peacemaker." Tory said and Sam's face scrunched. "What's that supposed to mean?" She asked, her voice getting angrier as she took another step towards Tory. Miguel's eyes widened, grabbing Sam's hand and pulling her back. "Stop. We can't do this. We'll beat them on the mat." Miguel said, looking around at the Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do students.
"Oh really?" Robby asked, making Miguel turn to him. Robby furrowed his brows in a fake confusion as he tilted his head. "You remember what happened the last time we fought, right?"
Miguel tensed, shaking his head slightly as Molly's jaw clenched at Robby's words. She mindlessly took a protective step towards the boy, her fists clenching by her sides. Robby's eyes widened and Molly stepped towards him, but the shock turned into anger when Hawk grabbed her wrist and gently pulled her back.
"You know what?" Miguel asked, glaring at Robby. Molly slowly started to calm down and turned to Miguel as he nodded angrily. "Meet us at the baseball diamond in 30 minutes." Miguel spat and all of the Miyagi Do and Eagle Fangs turned to Miguel with shocked looks.
"Miguel!" Demetri scolded under his breath and Mollys eyes slowly started to widen, catching onto his plan. Her shoulders straightened and her jaw clenched as all of her attention went to Tory.
"And no weapons." She added, making Demetri whip his head to her.
"Molly!" He scolded just like he had with Miguel. Tory ignored the boy, keeping her eyes on Molly as she smirked.
"Didn't need them at the laser tag place, won't need them now." Tory said and even though Mollys stomach twisted as she thought back to the night Tory broke her ribs and hand, she kept her composure strong.
"Yeah, you won't." She muttered, glaring at the girl. Tory looked back and forth between Sam and Molly, a evil glint in her eyes before she and the other Cobra Kais slowly turned around and started to walk away.
Molly licked her lips watching them go and she leaned her head towards her team. "Get in my car." Molly said, her eyes staying glued on the Cobra Kai's to make sure none of them heard her. Sam, Hawk, and Demetri all squinted at Molly, confused on why they'd go back to the car when they should be training for this new fight.
"What?" Hawk whisper yelled and Molly, once she knew the Cobra Kai's were far enough away, turned around to face him. "Go to my car right now." Molly repeated and Demetri looked at her as if she were crazy.
"Molls, I don't think fleeing will look good for us." He whispered and Sam looked up to the boy beside her before she turned back to Molly and nodded her head. "Demetri's right." She said, but Molly and Miguel shook their heads.
"We're not fleeing." Molly said, a smile on her face as she started to make her way towards the snack stand.
"We're getting a free show." Miguel hummed with a smirk.
Noticing Molly walking in the opposite direction of where she instructed them to go, Sam squinted. "Wait, where are you going? Your cars over there!" She yelled after Molly, looking away from her to point off to the sea of cars in the parking lot.
Molly spun around to face the four, both of her hands raised to point at the snack shop behind her with her thumbs. "I never got my snacks!" She yelled before she turned back around to walk towards the shop properly.
There was only one person in front of her in line, and Molly took the time to scan the menu for the prices of a medium coke icee and a small popcorn.
As Molly stepped up to the snack stand once it was her turn, she felt someone step up beside her. Turning her head, she saw Hawk standing shoulder to shoulder with her, reading the bright menu in front of them.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, figuring everyone else went back to her car. Hawk shrugged, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he looked away from the menu and to Molly. "It's a long walk back to the car. Figured someone should stay with you."
Molly scoffed, rolling her eyes playfully. She looked away for a second before turning back to Hawk and raising her eyebrows. "For what? Protection?" She asked, a small sense of amusement and offense in her voice.
Hawk's smile softened into something more genuine. "Company." was all he responded with and for a moment, Molly just stared at him, her playful expression faltering as something warm flickered in her chest. She couldn't pinpoint it, but it was something familiar.
Hawk was the first to break eye contact, turning to the cashier to order while Molly continued to stare at him. "Can I get two medium Coke slushees and a medium popcorn? Extra salt, extra butter." Hawk said, handing over some cash.
As the cashier nodded and started to get the order, Molly's eyebrows knitted together. "How did you know what I was gonna get?" Molly asked, a small laugh leaving with her words.
Hawk turned to Molly and sheepishly smiled, his shoulder raising in a nervous shrug. "You get the same thing at every movie theater."
She blinked, momentarily thrown. It had been so long since any date of theirs, let alone a movie theater date, yet he remembered. Her mind replayed the countless times they'd done this exact thing—movie nights, cozy theaters, the shared snacks.
Then it hit her.
An almost taunting smirk grew on her face as she lifted her arm to rest her elbow on the counter. "I normally get a small popcorn." Molly whispered in a matter-of-fact as the cashier came back with their drink and snacks. Hawk smirked, taking the items out of his hands while keeping his eyes locked with Molly's. "I know. We're sharing." Hawk said, handing Molly her slushee.
Molly kept her eyes locked with Hawk's as she shakily reached for her drink. His hands brushed against hers and Molly's breath caught for a split second, her heart doing a strange little flip.
She froze at the familiar feeling. If there had been any doubt the small flutters in her stomach and nervousness, it was rapidly slipping away the longer the conversation went on.
She stared at him, the familiar nervous smile he was wearing—the one that had first made her heart race all those months ago at computer camp. And now, standing here, it was doing it all over again, making her head spin. How could this happen again? How was she crushing on him again?
"Shall we?" Hawk asked, his voice quiet but still able to snap Molly out of her thoughts as he gestured towards the cars with a small tilt of his head.
Molly blinked. Her lips parted, but no words came at first, her mind swirling too fast. Then she nodded. "Yeah."
Hawk's smile widened just a little, a faint blush creeping up his cheeks, something Molly was able to notice because of the bright lights of the snack stand. It only made the butterflies in her stomach flutter more wildly.
Molly couldn't help the grin that spread across her face. "Yes. We shall." She said, letting out a soft laugh. Hawk chuckled too, and together they started walking back toward the car. It wasn't the same as it used to be, but it was still familiar and it still made the others heart race.
...
The five watched the movie for a bit more before Molly drove them all to the baseball field. She parked the car against the sidewalk just outside of the diamond and when everyone started to take their seatbelts off, Molly stuck her hand out in front of Hawk, blocking him and stopping everyone else.
"We're not getting out of the car." Molly said, turning to look at all of her friends. Sam, Demetri and Hawk all looked at Molly confused as Miguel nodded in agreement, only confusing the three more.
"What are you talking about? We need to go since Miguel planned this whole thing!" Demetri yelled and Miguel shook his head, his eyes watching as Cobra Kai started to walk onto the field. "No, Molly's right. Just wait." Miguel muttered, too focused on watching the Cobra Kais.
Everyone turned their heads to where Miguel was looking just as the sprinklers turned on in the field, spraying all of Cobra Kai.
Even from their parked car, the five of them could hear them scream. They started to laugh, Hawk laughing so hard, he was practically hunched over, banging his hand on the dashboard.
"Dude, genius move! We didn't even have to throw a punch!" Hawk cheered, looking back at Miguel. Demetri nodded his head in agreement with the boy.
"My favorite kind of victory." Demetri chuckled out breathlessly before his eyebrows furrowed. "How did you even know about this?" He asked, his eyes going from the Miguel, to the baseball diamond, then back to Miguel.
"Molly and I went here after Sam and I broke up and her and Hawk broke up." Miguel explained before looking down at his lap and shaking his head disappointedly. "Learned about the sprinklers the hard way." He muttered and Molly huffed, remembering the night.
She slumped as she turned on the car and started to drive out of her parking spot. "Ruined my white converse." Molly muttered angrily, starting to drive towards Demetri's house to drop him off as the other four continued to laugh at the drenched Cobra Kai kids as they drove by.
