2.

Bethany spent a half hour or so on the beach before deciding to try her luck with the hotel lobby again. She slipped her socks and shoes back after dusting as much of the sand off her feet as she could, rolling her luggage behind her as she made her way back towards the front of the hotel. She was pleasantly relieved to see that - when she arrived - the paparazzi had ebbed away from the door like a tide gone out to sea. There were a few of them still loitering about the area. Some of them were even holding up cameras to brag about their photos as if they were back in high school trying to one-up each other.

"I got a better picture of Lee Minjun than you did!" Bethany heard one of them boast on the way into the hotel lobby.

"You did not! You can't even see half of his face! You got more of his bodyguard's palm than anything!"

'Lee Minjun,' thought Bethany. 'So, the inconvenience has a name now. Glad I don't know who that is.'

She made her way across the sandy-white tiles in the lobby and over to the front desk where a semi-flustered receptionist stood. It was obvious that she was still wrapped in her thoughts because she didn't seem to notice Bethany standing in front of her until Bethany had cleared her throat.

"Oh, sorry..." said the receptionist as she whipped her head up to look at her with a brief apologetic smile. "Checking in?"

"Yes," said Bethany as she let go of the handle of her luggage to dig her ID out. She could hear the elevator ding from behind her, but didn't pay any attention to it. She was so close to being able to check in and relax.

Even though the ID was currently laid out on the counter, the receptionist wasn't looking at it. Instead she was looking towards the elevator at whoever had just gotten off.

"You're...you're..."

"Shhh. Don't give me away."

That voice. Bethany turned to look at the man as they approached the front counter. Her eyes widened when she recognized the same man from the beach earlier walking over. The man moved to stand alongside her at the desk as the receptionist gave him her full attention.

"I snuck down to ask if I can have an extra towel for my room."

"E-extra towel?"

'Oh for crying out loud...'

"I...I certainly can get you one right away!" stated the receptionist. "I'll even give you a warm one right out of the dryer!"

"Can I check in please?!"

The man and the receptionist both turned to look at her as she slammed her hands on the front desk. She had reached her limit.

"I'm sorry, miss. I'll be right with you..."

"No! I was here first to check in! Just because he's some hotshot doesn't mean he gets hot towel privileges over me checking in and finally starting my vacation!"

She could hear the man chuckling beside her, turning her enraged gaze on him.

"And you! It's all your fault!"

Bethany grabbed a fistful of tourist pamphlets off the counter in front of her, smacking him in the arm over and over again. He was shocked as he looked at her before laughing.

"I should have known you were the problem when I met you!"

"Miss, stop hitting Lee Minjun or I'll have to call security..." said the receptionist.

"She's fine," said Minjun with a chuckle, reaching out a hand to grip the pamphlets and yank them out of Bethany's hand. "There's no need for security."

Bethany humphed and turned away from him while Minjun continued to watch her in interest. Minjun soon turned his attention back to the receptionist who still seemed to be waffling on whether or not to call security.

"It's really fine," he assured the receptionist.

"Alright. If you're sure...I can go get the towel, but I have to leave for a moment."

"That's fine," he said. "She's not dangerous or anything."

'Boy, do we want to test that theory?' thought Bethany.

Bethany watched as the receptionist walked off before turning to look at Minjun standing alongside her.

"Being insulted and accosted on the same day is a new one," remarked Minjun as he turned to look at Bethany.

"I'm not talking to you."

"You just did, miss two-year-old."

Bethany's hands curled into fists as she found herself having to take calming breaths once more.

"You can tell you're some rich celebrity because you act like an entitled jerk."

"Well, you act like a spoiled brat."

"How? I was at the desk first!"

"Because you just hit me over me getting served first!"

"Now who's the two-year-old?"

The receptionist came back to the two of them bickering back and forth, slowing her steps until she eventually came to a pause in front of them with the towel still in her hands.

"Um...Mr. Lee sir?"

Silence fell on the both of them then as Minjun turned to look back at the receptionist. Seeing his towel, he put a smile on his face that Bethany could tell was about to make the woman pass out.

"Thank you, Miss. Sorry to have interrupted you checking this quality guest in."

"Not a problem, Mr. Lee," said the receptionist, pausing for a moment to tuck a non-existent strand of hair behind her ear. "Can I...can I get a selfie with you before you go though? Or an autograph?"

"Not right now. I need to go back to my room before I'm discovered."

"Right, right. Sorry."

"No need to be sorry. You don't have anything to be sorry for."

Bethany could hear the tone in the way he said that, rolling her eyes.

"Well, enjoy your stay, Mr. Lee. Let us know if you need anything."

"Thank you."

As Minjun was about to turn to head back towards the elevator, Bethany turned to mutter, "Hope your hot towel doesn't burn your million dollar hide."

Minjun smirked, chuckling as he made his way back to the elevator and soon disappeared up to his floor, but not before a man in a black hoodie that had been loitering nearby snapped one last picture.
