Chapter 40

Jungkook was in the hospital where Jungsoo was confined. The doctor said he was okay, his heartbeat stopped for a moment, and luckily, he was able to breathe. But he was also waiting for Yoongi to update him about Taehyung. Suddenly, he got a text from Yoongi and said.

“I found him”

Jungkook didn't hesitate to run out of the hospital to go to the parking lot. He went inside the car and drove away to go to the location sent by Yoongi. His car already reached the speed limit, but he still sped up his car to save Taehyung.

When his phone dinged, he thought it was Yoongi's message again, but this time it was from an unknown number. Of course, Jungkook knew it was the guy who kidnapped Taehyung.

He clicked the notification from his phone and saw a video was sent to him. Jungkook doesn't know why, but he felt nervous. Something was wrong that Jungkook couldn't understand what is it.

He still pressed the video to watch it, and it played. Taehyung was tied to the chair with blood on his chest and tears flowing out of his eyes.

“Come on, stop crying, don't worry, I will let your husband see you for the last time.” Hesun went back to Taehyung after arranging the angle of the camera.

He tugged Taehyung's hair, forcing him to look at the camera, even though Taehyung was already looking helpless.

“That's it, show your face to the camera, you can't see your husband's face, but I'm sure he can see you.” Hesun chuckled.

Taehyung cried because Hesun tightened his grip on his hair. If Jungkook can teleport, he would wish to go to Taehyung's location and beat the shit out of the guy's face.

“You can speak now, give him your last message while I'm still being kind here, okay? Don't be such a drama Queen, you're still lucky that I'm doing this for you, so he won't miss you that much when you die.” Hesun told Taehyung.

Taehyung's tears kept falling and opened his mouth to speak.

“J-Jungkook, I'm sorry for everything I've done to you. I-I'm sorry because I can't tell you in person but J-Jungkook, please take care of Jungsoo, okay? He grew up so well because of you, I'm sure, without me, you can still take care of him. Please make sure to be happy. I'm sorry if everything had to end like this, but don't worry, our second baby and I will be happy from now on… in heaven. I'll keep watching you and Jungsoo, okay? I love you, Jungkook.” Taehyung smiled painfully and cried.

“Wow, that's such a heartbreaking message. Since you didn't say goodbye, I'll say it for you.” Hesun loaded his gun.

He pointed it at Taehyung's forehead, who was hopeless.

“Goodbye”

Without any hesitation, Hesun pulled the trigger and shot Taehyung. The sound of a gunshot was deafening Jungkook's ear which also hurt his heart.

The video ended, and the exact time Jungkook arrived at the location. He got out of his car with tears falling from his eyes while running as fast as he could. It was an abandoned factory, he went to the stockroom where the video was filmed.

When he was there, he saw no one but things left by Hesun. The chair where Taehyung was tied was empty. But the blood on the ground was there. Jungkook fell to his knees and screamed at the top of his lungs when reality hit him.

Taehyung is gone.

He didn't save him again, he failed this time. His husband died because of him.
