Chapter 5
Customers keep coming to the store and most of them were students because classes already ended. Taehyung was a bit exhausted, his back and legs were tired, but he still can handle it.
“That would be 75,000 won, Sir.” Taehyung told to the customer while packing the ramyeon and soda.
“Here,” The customer paid for the items and Taehyung uttered, “Thank you, have a nice day.” the last customer for now.
He creaked his neck and stretched his arms since there was no customer yet. When he glanced through the glass door, he saw a familiar school bus. He was sure that was Jungsoo's service, but why did he drop in his work?
He should be dropped at his house. Taehyung went out of the convenience store and walked near the school bus.
“Good Afternoon, Mr. Kim.” Grace smiled at him while helping Jungsoo goes out.
“Good Afternoon too, Ms, may I ask why you dropped him here?” Taehyung inquired, holding Jungsoo's hand.
“Jungsoo requested me to drop him here, I'm sorry for not letting you know. It was a sudden request.” Grace told Taehyung.
“It's okay, Ms, I understand.” Taehyung sighed.
“We're going now, have a nice day to you, Mr. Kim.” Grace smiled and bowed her head before going back inside the bus.
“Let's go.” Taehyung uttered to Jungsoo who nodded his head.
They went back inside the convenience store since Taehyung's shift wasn't done yet.
“Jungsoo, can you wait a little bit here? My shift isn't done yet, and my manager left for a while. You can just take a seat on the bench and tell me if you need something, do you understand?” Taehyung spoke, kneeling in front of Jungsoo.
“Okay” Jungsoo responded and went to the bench.
He put his bag on the table and sat down on the bench, obediently. Taehyung sighed and went back behind the counter.
Suddenly, Taehyung noticed a kid going inside the store. He was confused because there was no elder behind the kid.
“Hello, kid, where are your parents?” Taehyung stepped in front of the counter and crouched down to go at the same height as the kid.
“Appa” The kid cried, hugging Taehyung.
That also seemed to get Jungsoo's attention, who was now looking at them.
“Appa? I'm not your Appa, baby. Can you tell me your father's name, so we can look for him?” Taehyung told the kid.
The kid pulled away for a moment and cried.
“Appa, you're my Appa!” The kid cried harder.
To Taehyung's shock, Jungsoo appeared between them and pushed the kid away from Taehyung. It was strong enough to make the kid fall to the ground.
“He's not your Appa, he's mine!” Jungsoo yelled at the poor kid.
“Jungsoo, don't be like that, it's just a mistake. He's missing and looking for his Appa.” Taehyung went to the kid and hugged him to comfort the crying kid.
Jungsoo cried too, making Taehyung worried and confused about what to do.
“Jungsoo, baby, please don't cry.” Taehyung held Jungsoo's right arm using one hand, while his other hand hugged the other kid.
But Jungsoo kept on crying, jealous of the kid hugging his Appa.
“Taehyung, what's going on here?” Finally, his manager arrived.
“Sir, can you please help me hold this kid? He's looking for his dad and Jungsoo is crying.” Taehyung requested his manager.
Sulyeon took the kid out of Taehyung's hand and carried it.
“I'm sorry, Jungsoo, please don't cry now. I'm here.”
Taehyung hugged Jungsoo, trying to calm him down. He curses under his breath when he saw Jungkook outside the store. And he knew he fucked up.
