Chapter 6

“What's happening here?”

Taehyung was nervous hearing Jungkook's voice. He was sure he will get blamed for this situation.

“I'm asking you, Taehyung, what you did to Jungsoo?” Jungkook snatched Jungsoo from Taehyung, who didn't want to answer his question.

“Don't raise your tone, there are kids here. And please, don't blame Taehyung, he is calming them down.” Sulyeon stated, annoyed by Jungkook's appearance.

“Jungsoo, baby, what happened to you? Why are you crying?” Jungkook asked Jungsoo while caressing his back.

“That kid… he called my Appa, his. I don't like it.” Jungsoo cried.

Based on Jungkook's reaction, he seemed to be taken aback by what Jungsoo said.

“It's okay, Dad is here, you don't need Appa anymore. I'm here now.” Jungkook said and glared at Taehyung.

“No! Tell him! Tell him Appa isn't his!” Jungsoo wailed, pointing to the kid who was in Sulyeon's arms.

“Jungsoo, don't cry, I'm your only Appa. No one's going to take me away from you.” Taehyung gently took Jungsoo out of Jungkook's arms.

“Really?” Jungsoo sniffled, looking at Taehyung with teary eyes.

“Yes, baby, Appa is here, only for Jungsoo. Don't cry anymore, I'm not going to leave you. Appa loves you.” Taehyung told Jungsoo, kissing his tears away.

“Jungsoo loves you too, Appa.” Jungsoo snuggled his face in his Appa's neck.

Yet, he glared at the kid who was watching them with tears in his eyes and behind them.

Later on, Jungsoo falls asleep in his Appa's arms and the kid was found out by his mother afterward. She said that she left her son in front of the convenience store to get something, but she didn't expect her son will leave and went inside the store and called a stranger his Appa.

“You should go now, Taehyung, Shinnie will cover up for your shift.” Sulyeon said to Taehyung.

“Thank you, Sir.” Taehyung slightly bowed his head.

Sulyeon smiled and Taehyung left the convenience store. There, Jungkook standing outside his car while smoking a cigarette.

“Get inside” Jungkook's voice sounded stern after throwing the cigarette on the ground, and stepping on it.

Taehyung swallowed before going inside the car, in the passenger seat. He kept Jungsoo in his lap to make sure he was comfortable.

“Don't think that Jungsoo meant what he said. Don't raise your hope thinking he loves you, he is just a kid who doesn't know what he is saying.” Jungkook stated with a cold tone.

“I know.” Taehyung uttered, biting his bottom lip.

“Good, besides, I don't want you to get close to him when he grows up. I will marry someone, I want him to get used to her rather than you. After all, you are incapable of taking care of him.” Jungkook retorted.

“I know it's Shin, the girl you used to love before. I'm happy for you, Jungkook. It seemed like you already found the one for you. You two are perfect for each other.” Taehyung smiled.

But why is his heart hurting?

He shouldn't feel pain, right?

They got divorced and Jungkook came back to his first love. That's a sign that they aren't for each other.

“I hope I'll find mine too.” Taehyung giggled bitterly.

He didn't notice how Jungkook tightened his grip on the steering wheel after he let out that specific sentence.
